    Jorginho is a Blue

Kante is the very definition of box to box player. Anyone who wants to use him to patrol a 20 yard strip of the pitch has as much understanding of football as Tony "used his wrong hand" Gale.

Nope, Kante is not a sitting DM why on earth would you put someone with an unlimited amount of energy in such a restrictive position? If a manager comes in and decides to put a player who's main attribute is his engine sitting Infront of the defense and only covering a small area of the pitch then he will have it all to do to convince me he knows the game let alone is good enough to manage Chelsea.

I hope not, if any manager has Kante sitting then i will instantly question their ability as a coach.

    Sarri - In or Out?

Agreed, even the most negative posters on here have a sense of balance about them, on there you are instantly dismissed as an apologist/fanboy if you don't follow all the ludicrously negative party lines. Doesn't help that a certain person spam posts what must be about 70 times a day. To give you an insight as to what's It's like currently Atomis has joined and is very high up on liked content, that was the straw that broke the camels back for me as i stuck with it through years of decline due to how good the place was in it's prime.

I completely understand the anger about the club not subsidising travel to Baku, but there is another side to this. UEFA is to blame for picking such an absurd location for the final. The only way to get them to learn from this is embarressing them with a half empty stadium. If clubs step in to pick up the financial pieces caused by such atrrocious decisions, UEfA won"t hesitate to repeat their mistake, knowing clubs are picking up the bill. Either way, fans lose.

    Sarri - In or Out?

I just pray we appoint a similar manager in terms of how they see the game. Going back to safety first a year after trying to change the style (not to mention the fact our three big signings aren't remotely suited to pragmatic tactics) would be depressing.

But then again we are within our legal rights to keep him for another 12 months. Would be a bad decision imo, but we have to use that as our joker in negotiations on his transfer fee.

    Eden Hazard

Hazard didn’t exactly do us any favours when he refused th extension which has been on the table for well over a year. He could easily have signed it ensuring we get his market value which is more than double what Madrid are quoted to be bidding. Love the guy but it goes two ways

Season's Player Ratings with NOBS on

Emerson - 6 - Emerson and his bag of trick. One trick, just one. A snappy foot over the ball feint that achieves absolutely nothing. There is some potential there though which, if achieved, could see him start regularly for, say, West Brom. All style, no substance. NOBS - Italian - All style, no substance.

Piss poor statement from the club on the official website; it pales in comparison to the statement from the supporters trust which was a lot more hard hitting, and a true reflection of how Chelsea fans, and the football world feel about such a ridiculous scenario. The club statement appears to me as an afterthought which they felt they had to write, with the main priority being not to upset Uefa. It's a whole lot of waffle without really saying anything at all. A lot of "we understand" and absolutely no "this is what we are going to do about it" There is a lot the club could do if they put their hand in their pockets and offered subsidise packages for the supporters going. It would actually be a drop in the ocean if you consider the sort of figures we would be talking here stacked up against the return for reaching the final. But instead, they teamed up with Thomas Cook to rip fans off by charging just shy of a grand for a return flight. This entire fixture, and everything associated with it is disgusting, shameful, and embarrassing. A sad and telling reflection of where football is in 2019.

    David Luiz back at Chelsea

I can give you perfect examples where he has been excellent too this season. Man City he did not give Sterling, Jesus and co a sniff. He was MOTM for me that game. He won everything. We have kept 16 clean sheets this season in league with Luiz being in the team for most of those games. People exaggerate the problems. He makes mistakes but he is a good defender and the good games he has had this season is not recognized.

I think that may have been the case with RM previously, less sure now due to the FPP and think Zidane has a €200m war chest and wants three players. Unless of course he can unload others, which means protracted negotiations.

Or we use Hazard to bridge that gap, consolidate CL football for next year and bolster the squad from that guaranteed revenue later. Not much point in having 80 mill if you can only offer the Thursday night cup.

Kanté out of the final. So we have no CHO, RLC, Rudi and now Kante. I remember the last time we played a European final with countless absentees...

Exactly. If it came down to accepting a fee of around 80m or keeping him for 12 more months, I’d want the club to keep him.

    Two Transfer Window Ban?

It could also be a nightmare. Without adding to the club, we're likely finishing outside of the top 4. I don't know about you, but I absolutely hate it when Chelsea are not playing CL football. I know we are slightly spoiled, but I want to go back to playing Champions League football every season.

Forget Twitter, on Talk Chelsea you get the main admin and most active poster talking like that, and both are almost always 1 and 2 on the 'like' count every month. And this month you'd never guess who's 3rd this time round...

    Sarri - In or Out?

Attendance's in Italy slumped many years ago. It became noticeable in the 1990 World Cup with huge ampunts of empty spaces, even for the World Cup semi finals. So called "giants" like AC and Inter Milan have been playing in front of half empty (or even worse) stadiums for years. I hear that Italians still love football. Its just they don't go to watch the games any more and watch it on TV instead.

    David Luiz back at Chelsea

After years of watching Luiz very carefully I have to agree. People also used to ridicule Phil Neville but he was a very good defender too. Yes, he used to make mistakes, and often. Some of them were very funny. But the fact he could also have good games proves he was obviously a very good defender. He was an international. Like Luiz. Both very, very good defenders. Despite the mistakes.

because the people on Sky Sports News say that Kante is a deep lying DM IMHO Kante is more like Ramires in the fact that he can cover much ground on both sides of the halfway line

Rubbish, he is a very good defender. The media love to focus on him anytime he makes a mistake, to build a false perception he is a poor defender, but all defenders make mistakes.

    Sarri - In or Out?

time to show what though? Nice football? A lot of points? (if you are basing that off Napoli) Because history shows giving him time does not win you trophies. I wouldnt be against him staying or going to be honest, but there is nothing at all to suggest giving him time will reap rewards I see some saying look at Klopp, look at Pep etc but they are a different planet to Sarri in terms of ability.

    Sarri - In or Out?

This whole Sarri to Juventus thing is just an annoying little distraction heading into the most important game of the season. It shouldn't be the game that decide Sarri's future, think he has done enough to start the next season as Chelsea manager, but would have a big impact on whether he will finish next season as the Chelsea manager. I don't know much about Juventus, they'd win Serie A again with Sarri in charge ( or most top level managers), but if they are serious about winning the CL, the smart money is get the Jose, who will just focused on winning, not how to win.

Its not all about money, christ Naingollan says as much in this interview: https://talksport.com/football/357762/chelsea-fc-news-radja-nainggolan-reveals-reason-he-turned-down-blues-two-years-ago/ Why do you have this entitled opinion that we can sign any player or have an infinite amount of money to attract anyone? If a player doesn't want to come we can't force them. If its money a player wants, they go to Manchester or PSG, if its titles its Barca or Real. Fact is there are more attracting clubs than us these days.

Our club is a shambles. This is another example of why Man City’s version of rich overseas benefactors is going to ultimately be a lot more successful than ours. We can’t even do PR well. They’ve probably left Sarri to make his own way there. I wonder if it will be Roman’s first game of the season? Expect he’ll have no difficulties if he can be arsed going.

How has Sarri got this reputation of a tramp just for a tracksuit? Seems an odd thing to beat him with! Wouldn’t care if Sarri turned up in a mankini, I mean it wouldn’t be the best sight 🤣 but he’s done a great job so far considering we’re in a transition period

    Sarri - In or Out?

In years to come we will look back and wonder how we let Sarri leave. How we only had one year of him. As we sit fighting for 4th place with Tottenham and Arsenal every year and not winning anything and Sarri wins everything across Europe in a 5 year period before he succumbs to lung cancer.

Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

Guardiola didn't get his way in last summer market yet he just got on with it and retained the title. Now was I expecting Conte to retain the title? No, but what Roman did or didn't do in the market doesn't excuse the run we had in the second half of that season, in Roman's era (possibly since the mid 90s) only Jose's meltdown period was worse both results and performance wise. The hardest thing to take with Conte is we didn't fall so badly and miss out on CL because of incompetence, we fell because of his attitude which for me is 100x worse than someone being out of their depth. He has already proven he can get decent results with flawed squad's, so given his departure looked certain, why couldn't he have just got on with it and left us in a decent position?

    Sarri - In or Out?

Every fan thinks their club is doing stupid things all the time apart from probably City's and Pool's.. With our looming transfer plan Sarri might leave Chelsea for Juventus if he has the chance No matter what he said. And I'm sure the club is pondering the player-market in terms of the ban. If we can't get the targets we want this summer why freeze the ban now. We will only extend it to the next summer then. I am also warming up to the idea we can cope without buying anyone. Our loan-army is so huge we should be able to utilize it. My biggest concern is Ruben's and Callum's injuries.

    Our worst transfers?

I just felt a bit sorry for Torres. A truly great player seeing his form and ability fade away in what should still have been his peak years. Sheva's legs had gone and it was obvious he'd never be the same again. As we know, Chelsea denied Torres had physical problms, saying he passed all the required tests. So what in the hell did happen to him? Could it be as simple as him just losing confiidence? That open goal aginst Uttd was eeeek!!!!! He did show moments and even periods in some games of the old Torres, so i can understand why we kept him longer than we should have. So yes, a flop signing, but for me a sad and frustrating one who did at least contribute something in big Euro moments.
