  1. Agree. He's becoming a huge sook these days. How did Manchester United cope when they won the Treble in 1999? How did we cope in 2007 when there was a possibility of winning the Quadruple (we won the League Cup and FA Cup). I despair at the younger generations who sneer at the FA Cup. In my mind, it still remains a prestigious competition and I hope we're going all out to win it this year.

Hopefully referees will remember to look at the squad numbers on the back when writing down their bookings, otherwise Alonso and other future wearers of squad number 3 can expect a lot of bans.

  6. Dont feel bad Slojo, it got to me as well. Like you that game burned me. Came at the end of a really crappy day. Got my ray of light from dave snatched away. So I ended up venting my frustrations and posted some tripe on here. On the plus side I could begin to feel calmer and move forward without it impacting my home life. On the negative side I get labelled as one of the "super fans" on here. Is the price you pay if you let the negative emotions and frustration get the better of your common sense. Like you said though Kudos to Dean who not only keeps a level head on here, but d

  8. I don't agree with this at all. Abraham and Mount are busting a gut every game. James has certainly put himself about a bit. Gilmour has looked energetic on his rare chances. Guehi was solid in his two League Cup games, and Lamptey was terrific in his lone cameo appearance. Tomori has looked to my eye to be our best centre back this season. Christensen I'm on the fence about, but probably only because he's stereotypcially Nordic in his demeanour. The only one of the academy players who has featured and looks off the pace at times is CHO, who is coming back from a serious injury.

I think its a load of old tosh though. The same small band of "available" players with media savvy agents and the same clutch of needy clubs Cherlsea need a striker, Man U need a striker, Arsenal need a defence, West Ham need a prayer!

Agree with this. I thought he played well against Arsenal and showed glimpses of his class. I was amazed when Frank subbed him because we were on top from the moment Frank took off Emerson and changed formation. Having said that, Frank was completely vindicated because we scored two late goals. Sadly that meant Kovacic sat out the next few games and we suffered as a consequence in my opinion. Sure, he came on against Brighton and wasn't his best, but for me he's a starter all day long.

  17. Barkley's numbers when he joined us were almost identical to Frank's, and at a similar age, but whether he's good enough is irrelevant to the point I'm making, if you don't mind my saying. These are the tools at Frank's disposal, the players, and he has to do the best with what he's got, and they're pretty good. It's his job to make them better. It's his job to make them gel. It's his job to bring some cohesion to the attack. As I said over a week ago, quoting an article that I read, "Modern football at the highest level is about structured gambits. Attacking, just as m

    Jeremie Boga

i would buy him back, Pedro doesnt get a look in these days, even with pulisic injured, and us needing a goal, he still didn't get on against newcastle or arsenal. Might as well not even be here. At least with boga, he can be used as an impact sub, very cheap transfer, and if it doesnt work out, we could sell him on for a profit.

  20. Blows my mind that so many people wanted the integration of youth in to our team and now it’s happened, some want to write these kids off after 6 months of a season. The expectations of our support have massively shifted. There was people saying finishing in the top 10 this season was success but now the expectation is we must make top 4?! I said it after the arsenal game but some people need to take a step back and look at it with some perspective. Things could be a lot worse. We’re an extremely young team with an inexperienced manager, there is always going to be teething problems.

    Our New Stadium

This is very much the point.. When Arsenal embarked on their rebuild match day receipts were very much the highest of the income streams but commercial and indeed TV monies now are the top two money makers Its impossible to know if Arsenal would have been more successful since their rebuild but repayment of interest and capital payable more than accounts for the extra gate receipts. When you factor in that most replica shirt sales etc aren’t sold to match going supporters then it gets harder to justify the monies required to add capacity When you factor in their

  31. I dont actually agree. We were all asked by the FA to respect the winter break and not arrange freindly's or anything and there they are sticking 4th round replays during the scheduled break. If we drew to Hull yesterday and Frank decided to do the same he'd firmly have my support.

  33. Would like to think so. One things is the U-16 to lose against Villa away, another thing is to lose against Shrewsburry at Anfield where they haven't lost in over a year. But they are on the verge on winning the first title in 30 years, so I guess they will not give a sh*t about it.

Appears to me he has. Jorginho also can't dominate when he is put under pressure. Not just this season but all of last as well. Every team worth their salt knows you just need to put a man on Jorghino and his contribution to the game collapses.

Not having a pop at you Scott, but I think those sort of claims are laughable. I rate Kovacic, but I do also think be can be a bit up & down form wise (seems to be the case with our whole squad). Don't think it's so much as dropped but more a case of rotation. Yes, players and a team can gain momentum if you stick to the same line-up but then you also run the risk of fatigue (especially in the winter) and complacency. In the modern game, players have to expect rotation (look at City with the likes of Silva, Aguerro and KDB all getting left out). Really it should keep them on their to

  40. This is lamps is on about when says we create chances. We get into these promising positions, but nothing comes of it. Lack of kill instinct, lack of ability to engineer an opportunity. It doesnt go on the stats sheet as an xg or whatever, but we see passages of play like this every game.

  41. Honestly I don't think we've been that bad, a disappointing 15 minutes into the 2nd half, and just loads of chances missed. It should've been more comfortable but that's what happens when you miss chances.

    Our New Stadium

Does having a bigger stadium actually have any substantial financial benefit? TV and sponsorship money is always on the rise, for the amount required to build the stadium including buying out and relocating businesses and renting a new place, I don't know how long it would take to actually reap the benefits and if it sizable enough to be worth the effort and risk of it effecting our football.
