Unfortunately thats entirely true, those tourists are the fans all clubs are after, not the average season ticket holder who goes to the game, watches it and spends hardly any more money. they want he corporate money, they want the tourist who rocks up to the megastore and spends a few hundred quid, then buys the programme, some beers and burgers in the ground.

Agree. As someone who enjoys real ale the choice of beer is terrible. I've read that on occasions that a small bar selling real ale has been set up but unfortunately never in the MHU where my seat is. If I do drink in the ground I usually have London Pride. Not brilliant but a lot better than Singha.

I actually think he switch between 4,3,3 and 4,2,3,1 next season. Timo for me will play wide left most of the time. You need 4 wide players now for all the competition we play in. Timo gives us goals from a wide position it also stops teams risking players on the counter. if Timo hits the ground running with Pulisic, Ziyech and cho we have enough goals from wide to easily get into the top 4.

Liverpool winning against Palace, after Zaha goes off injured. Ref doesn't give a Freekick on the half way line against Liverpool yet a few minutes later he gives one to Liverpool 20 odd yards out for the same infringement, typical.

His heat map will look different as we haven't played two up top in a long time, with any consistency. With two center forwards one will typically drift right and the other left to open up space for each other. If Frank wants to change systems though Timo give him the chance could start in a 4-3-3 with pulisic wide left and timo CF, and very easily transition to two up top with Werner / Abraham. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/timo-werner-rb-leipzig-bundesliga-tactical-analysis From transfermarkt: Main position : Centre-Forward Other position: Left Winger Right Winger

Pulisic is also more than capable of playing on the right wing. He spent his earlier Dortmund career playing mostly on the right, until the emergence of Sancho then Pulisic is shifted to the left to accommodate both on the field.

Was walking down Fulham Broadway in 1980 when a mate who was more clued up than me pointed him out as the new top boy. That Marseille game they gave us a V Shape open terrace in the corner. Thought we made a lot of noise seeing as there was no roof. It went off down the front with OB which made the Standard the next day. Got a coach back to Nice which took forever. Was talking on the way back with a Wolves fan who went out there looking for a bit of aggro because he got battered out there the previous year in the World Cup, which didn’t make a lot of sense

I actually liked Sarri you have to admire someone who sticks to his principles when hes getting it from all sides. I wasnt getting into the Sarri vs Frank debate. I think having Sarri last year has helped frank this year. I just didn't agree that its franks fault that we are conceding all the goals. I thinks we would both agree that is the reason we have signed two attacking players already who should add more goals which will ease the pressure on the defence. I still think we are a CB short of really challenging who that player is i don't know. I think if we beat city on Thursday night we catch Leicester and finish third which would be a fantastic season considering the transfer ban etc.

Not sure 'tough on the Russians' was Boris' idea though, didn't Theresa May start that? Hopefully Boris sees the potential gift horse and doesn't end up punching it in the mouth.

Lewis Dunk has a dog called Didier

Sometimes its easy to look like a good CB when playing for teams like Brighton, they have a good defensive system, and he flourishes there. Are you seriously telling me if Rudiger or Christensen played for Brighton, that they would be behind Dunk? I doubt it. Not only that, but I thought we were linked with him in January, and his price was around 50m... Not worth that much. Just look at Harry Maguire, for Leicester's system he was good and a solid defender, better than Dunk I'd say. But look at him for Utd, was he worth the world record fee? Nowhere near.

Had the honour of meeting him a couple of years ago. I got him to sign a copy of this picture. " If I'd a pound for every time someone asks me about that picture I'd be a rich man ! " he said For the record. Roy Aiken (No 4 pictured ) and Alex get on really well ! Alex scored in 4 different Cup Finals. Not bad for a midfielder.

    Christian Pulisic - Official

Well I don't dismiss him but it's a bit concerning that Werner is coming to play at the position where Pulisic is becoming a new star right before our eyes. Yes Werner is a great signing but (sad that there can be a but there) if you go many pages back in this topic you'll find under the dust that I've said that Pulisic is projected to be the next big star among all the big league players. I don't think it's common to buy a key player at the position where you're making a key player out of someone you already have, this is exactly what we did since Werner plays exactly where Pulisic plays. Cristiano Ronaldo looked ok at 18-19 when he came to England but at 21-22 he was playing over 30 games in the Premier League already and scoring 15+ goals. When Pulisic becomes less injury prone and more stronger, he might become the best winger in the league, he can actually become that good. But is Werner going to hinder the development of Pulisic or is he going to make it more faster? This is why I say we'll see how it turns out, if Werner really is soft as they say Pulisic might be the first choice next season as he adapted already.

Table could look very different on Thursday night in relation to point gaps: Chelsea win 54 points (1 behind Leicester) with a Man U loss, 46 points (8 point gap) Chelsea lose 51 points (4 behind Leicester) Man U win, 49 points gap closer to 2. Also the draw options added in which doesn’t look as dramatic either way, shows us the importance of taking Something away from The city game. Sheffield are no push overs but we have to see a Utd home win as a high possibility and also is losing as I hate to say almost likely. Is it in franks arsenal to go for a draw? I would play this game quite tentatively.

Definitely think it’s more a problem with how Frank is setting up the defence, it’s pretty much the same back line as last year yet concede a lot more. A commanding CB and top Lb would be nice But we will still be having problems if these defensive issues aren’t rectified by Frank and Jody.

This post is absolutely spot on. James has fabulous potential, but he's currently behind Azpi in Lampard's pecking order for a very good reason - right now Azpi is a better defender. The James fans probably haven't noticed that our results aren't exactly stellar when has started in the PL this season ....

    lets talk about our defence

I would keep Azpilicueta, Alonso, James and Tomori, the rest just aren't cutting it for me. Rudiger has completely lost his composure since he picked up injuries. He seems to be easily rattled these days too. I don't know what has happened to him. Zouma can have good games, but he more often than not looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Christensen is easy to bully, that isn't something you want in your cb. He looks and plays like youngster still developing. Emerson does nothing. He doesn't offer anything in attack, he doesn't offer anything in defense, he's the perfect example of a nothing player. It's a myth that he was good at the start of the season. Nobody can even remember any standout moment from him, that is how forgettable his performances have been. We desperately need a dominating CB who knows how to organise a defence. That defence of ours has zero leadership and it shows in almost every game. Finding a Desailly or Terry now is incredibly hard, but finding somebody similar should be our number 1 priority, because if we don't sort that defence out, we won't be competing for the major titles any time soon.

I was at that Watford game ,mid week if i recall ,got stuffed of course, but the statto in me always remembers it because of les fridge being in goal...funny how we can fondly recall a 5 1 home defeat to Watford because of the goalie making his debut like many i had high hopes for Steve Francis ,bit like kepa good shot stopper but lacking a bit of presence

It's looking increasingly like being a 4-way fight for top 4, with us, United, Leicester and Wolves. Leicester are really slumping and being pulled back into it a lot now, and they have tough fixtures. We have better form recently but still some tough fixtures too. Meanwhile both United and Wolves are chasing but have the more favourable fixtures generally. Looking like gonna be close, but I think we have a good chance, fairly confident - a good result this week would enhance that even more.

I wasn't born at that point so can't comment but i would genuinely say i'd be hard pushed to feel more humiliated watching us ever again even if we went back to that level. It's not the score that day i found humiliating (obviously 1-0 at The Ethiad is in itself far from a disgrace) it's the fact we went with no intention of getting a result, Conte went for a valiant defeat (as clearly demonstrated by the fact the approach didn't change even after they scored). As awful as the football got under Mou at times, one thing you can say is that he will always aim to get a result.

He is a wonderful player - despite his 5 minutes, when he played like a one legged man uphill the K2. I suppose Frank had a short talk with him about his performance afterwards and we´ll see him again with all his power and speed.

Liverpool sorted their attack 1st though, which is what we are doing. They only fixed their defence in klopps 3rd/4th season. There seems to be more of a long term strategy here now, i dont think Lamps is going anywhere for at 2 years, so he has time to bring in the right players whrnever they become available.

Whether we stay with the bridge as it is or redevelop it, we like many clubs will still have the problem who frequents it, I don't mean the hardcore but the theatre going tourist lot, that don't add anything to the atmosphere apart from pound notes in the club shop, while off at the moment watched some old 80's games on you tube, we had some passionate support in those days.

https://www.newcivilengineer.com/latest/chelsea-stadium-planning-permission-expires-today-31-03-2020/ Imagine if Roman had pulled the trigger, right about now the project would be stopping with a nearly demolished bridge and a big hole in the ground where the pitch used to be, and the money starting to hemorrhage, a bit like the strike in the 70s when the East Stand was being built. His decision based on the Tories not renewing his visa looks even better now, as we see currently across town Mr. Levy hitting up Boris for some funds to pay staff wages at the lovely new shiny 1 billion pound (not paid off for a longtime) White Hart Lane.
