  1. This really was fantastic, one of the best football I’ve ever seen us play. We just kept it simple and made it look very easy. I really wish Mount sent a ball through for Werner, that really would have capped off a beautiful team play.

    Official Thomas Tuchel

That performance yesterday was like a collection of the best things of the 3 previous managers. Conte's shape, defensive resilience, organisation, and countering. Sarri's playing out of defense, vertical tiki taka. Lampards trust in the youth and faith that they can be as good as anyone. All sewn together nicely with Tuchel finally finding the right balance of when to press, and when to sit. Really excited to see how far he can take us, you need these sort of big wins like this and Atletico, if you are going to keep players believing in you, and it builds trust fro

  3. It's nerve wrecking and you brick it, especially when Mendy is on the ball, he's almost had a few slip ups as it is. But it really is an effective tactic, and I don't think we as fans give the players enough credit for it. Sometimes in the matchday thread I see complaints about how poor we are playing it from the back and I just don't understand, if you think this is poor, go watch another team try it, they can't do it as well as we do, not even Arsenal, only City are better. I still remember how annoyed Bruno Fernandes was against us the game before, he was constantly chasing shadows an

  4. The ball retention and passing out from the back in order to force Liverpool out last night was as good as anything we saw under Sarri, whose whole philosophy was built on that premise. Defensively, right now, we look as good as we have for years. Tuchel's challenge now is to get the attack firing, especially in the games that teams are going to sit deep.

Well done Tom, a good result. But still not beaten a good team.

  6. It just shows how so many penalties these days are bollox. I’m an old git, from the mindset of staying on your feet. So many challenges you can easily stay on your feet - a clip isn’t a foul. But people flopping all over the place means they get given. It’s bullsh*t and turning many games into penalty shoot-outs.

  7. Thought he had a terrific game yesterday. Kept Salah quiet on the defensive end and linked up well with Mount offensively. Got the pace to outrun TAA and get into good positions a few times as well which Alonso would have struggled with.

    Mason Mount

Read an article last year after the Bayern Munich spanking where Mount was quoted in saying how difficult he found playing against Thiago, how he was always a step or 2 ahead of him in midfield and he at times felt like a headless chicken running around. How things have changed in 1 year, he has hugely developed and came up against Thiago on a few occasions last night and was all over him. Mount's most impressive attribute is not just his footballing ability but his ability to learn and develop as a player, he is completely different player in comparison to the one who started last season

  10. This is their PL picture since Palace rolled over for them in the 7-0 in their last fixture before Xmas : The 5 consecutive home defeats is apparently a new club record LOL. I think every team in the PL will believe they are beatable now. Pretty please they finish bottom half 🙂

    Jorginho is a Blue

I missed Gol today, but from the team's (and Jorgy's) performance, the mods should auto-ban him every day we play the dippers. We beat Liverpool 100% of the time Jorghino starts and Gol15 is banned.

  14. 4 years after signing up I'm not exactly a newbie. I've always been eager and impatient to dive straight into discussions and share my views on my favourite topic - Chelsea Football Club. But I've noticed I still haven't done this so it's about time! I'm born in '98 and German, grew up in a family whose interest in football never went beyond the world cup and the euros. During these tournaments I found myself more invested than them - crying in 2006 after Germany's semi-final elimination against Italy, crying again in 2006 when I felt France should have won the final, crying in 2008 when

  15. They will have a better resolution, that image i posted was from the match highlights from sky online. But the thing is the VAR ref has the power to make very close calls go whichever way he wants, when he drags the cursor up Timos arm to find the imaginary line where the arm starts on a long blue sleeve, he decides where it is, he probably has 2-3 inches of play, he can literally make the call either way. So in those close instances where they are basically level, it should be taken out of his hands and advantage given to the attack.

  20. Brilliant overall display. We bossed most of the game, looked so comfortable on the ball and had them chasing shadows. Werner seemed onside from what pictures I saw, ziyech unlucky with the one off the line. Werner could have scored a couple more. Really one goal win is not a fair reflection of how good we were. Felt we were lucky on the Kante handball call.

  22. Liverpool played right into Werners hands. I do think this is the only way we will get the best out of him and it's the reason why Liverpool wanted him so badly. He needs balls played quickly, he needs something to run on to. We all know he is going to miss chances, but if we can get his confidence in front of goal back up again, he will start taking most of them. Werner would have loved playing with Fabregas.

  23. VAR as a Technology is absolutely fine it’s the people behind it and how they interpret the rules that’s the problem. They have been very clever is blaming the technology by using media spin so the focus is off the referees. PL must have some good PR probably ex government.

  24. I literally facepalmed when Goldstein tells him the red covering is only on one side of the pitch and he comes back with "well that tells us why Salah is scoring and the others aren't". 🤣🤣🤣

  25. I was really gutted when frank got sacked and hated the idea of Tuchel. But hell I love the way the guy talks and how he gets the emotion and human element of building a squad. Please let this be the one, he excites me for the future and I really think he can take us to the next level . There will be bumps but I’m sold. We’re Tommies team now. Do your stuff !!!

    Jorginho is a Blue

Played well overall but had me clenching the buttocks big time the last 20 minutes when they were really pressing and he turned the ball over cheaply a couple of times. Just about got away with the turn on the edge of our box but then tried to run and passed it straight to Fabinho.

    Official Thomas Tuchel

IMO you have to go with the moment RMH and try not to think about that. I totally take your point though. We had a 14 game unbeaten run earlier in the season and then it all changed so quickly. And we all know that's football and can happen to any team, any manager. TBH I don't think Tuchel could do much more than he has so far. But if the wheels did fall off like they did in December, Roman will make the same decision to rinse and repeat. If Klopp was our manager and had the results he has had at Liverpool this season he'd be gone. That's our Chelsea.

  30. It was going to take something special to win me over. So far he has managed 3 wins out of 4 facing Tottenham, A.Madrid, Man Utd and Liverpool. I think I can now say he has won me over. He’s only been here for 5 weeks and he’s done a very very good job! I’m still saddened about Frank but excited about Tuchel at the same time.

  34. Agreed. Does anyone know what he is meant to have done that was a banning offence? I know he was an argumentative twat at times (I myself was arguing with him recently!), but you cant say he wasnt consistent in his views or dedicated to this forum. Not for me to tell the admins how to do their job, but genuinely interested in what his "crime" was to bring about a ban. Any ideas?
