I think questions such as this miss the point. It's possible to be both, over the moon with how Tuchel has done since coming in, and at the same time, still be angry with how Lampard was treated. Seems to me the reason this subject keeps coming up is because some people wanna pointlessly rub Tuchel's success in the faces of those that were against Frank's sacking, as if those people would be pissed off with how our season has gone!

  2. Not convinced there is negativity. Many were unhappy that Frank was sacked. I was. Still am. I think it is important to seperate that from Tuchel's performance in the job. Notwithstanding our sometimes boring style the change has worked. Tuchel has done well and we're ahead of where I thought we'd be. I approach the CL final with no expectations, but I would like to make the top 4 and win the FA Cup. The thing that has pleased me most is that apart from Tammy the young players are largely still getting a run. They aren't as prominent as they were under Frank but they are getting a g

I also thought that the club didn't treat Lampard right, the board showed no patience at all. As soon as the team started to underperform he was sacked so I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to Tuchel if a similar month of bad results comes next season either. But that decision did turn things around so the board's fast reaction to sign up Tuchel after he was suddenly available proved to be the right move. Even so I don't think that the board knew just how much exactly we were underperforming, my guess is that nobody expected the team to reach the CL final either. So I hope that the

  5. Not bothered in the slightest. To those who say it puts more pressure on our game tomorrow does it really? Cause all I read about after Leicester lost to newcastle was how we were under more pressure to win at city to take advantage. So regardless of today's result the pressure would have increased one way or another. Simple as it sounds if we do our job properly in our remaining league games we make top 4. It is in pur hands and we could ask for no more than that given 5 months back we were 10th.

  7. I don't think it's a stitch up at all. This is all because United fans forced a game to be postponed. They wouldn't have to play 3 games in 5 days if it wasn't for that.

  8. Ben Chilwell on Thiago Silva: "I was actually at Leicester when all the speculation around Thiago started floating about. I remember chatting to a few of the boys saying, 'imagine if I go there and play with Thiago Silva, that would be a dream.'" "He’s been one of the best centre-backs in world football for so many years now. So to then come here, meet him, train with him, learn from him, talk to him around the building..." "Hear how he thinks I can improve my game, here how he talks to me and the other boys during matches, it’s just amazing." "It’s just amazing to see the

    Welcome Hakim Ziyech

I think we need someone like him in our lineup who will look to take on that "Hollywood" Pass every once in a while, we've got too many players who like to keep things simple and safe. I agree at times his demeanor appears lackadaisical and his passing might seem careless but against teams such as City where they will play a high line and you need someone to play the perfect ball in behind I would back him to do that. In the game on the weekend he did play a beautiful pass into Werner who could've taken it on mid stride and his pace would've set him off but Werner didn't anticipate the ba

  12. Well, here we are again! Another final! Another potential name change! If we play like we have been of late, then we should win this! However as we know Leicester are no push overs, they can be very good on their day. I just hope their recent poor form carries over into this game. The worrying thing is they have lost all four of their FA Cup final appearances, and surely the law of average would suggest that maybe it's there time? Hopefully not! Anyway COME ON THE CHELS!!!

  15. People questioning why it’s a bad thing if Leicester win this faux pl game...not only do we drop behind them in an unjust way, they also will get a big lift ahead of playing us in the cup final and pl match. If they’d lost, as they surely would have done in normal circumstances, we’d be taking on a deflated group. I hope Utd somehow scrape an equaliser at least.

  17. I didn't like Sarri at Chelsea, I've made no pretense of that. I don't think he made any attempt to build a rapport with the fans and felt that he demonstrated extreme stubbornness in his team selections and tactics. Also, the chewing on dogs ends was an awful look for an elite club. However. He was clearly more suited to Italian football. Juventus knew what they were signing up for and to sack Sarri and bring in Pirlo was a strange choice. When we bought in Lampard to replace Sarri the expectations had been lowered. Our best player was gone and we had a transfer ban. So we k

From the perspective of someone that hasn't got an insight into the Clubs comings and goings, being given the sack the day after beating Luton (if I remember correctly) and cutting short his contract from the end of the season with little patience given his status with the Club and fans. No idea of what went on, but for me as for many fans, he did not deserve to be cut loose so sudden and after a comfortable win in the Cup. That is what I referred to.

Hindsight is great, and I agree that it has been a success. But, go and ask the same question to Juve or PSG supporters. And, as someone has already mentioned, I don't think many were against Tuchel, we were more against how Frank was treated and about giving him til the end of the season (and I still would have backed him independently of the results). That is perfectly compatible with being delighted about the successes of Tuchel and the team.

  20. so much unnecessary negativity about Tuchel's record, so what if we lose the CL final? The last time we got into the final was almost a decade ago, it is a big f* deal just to make the final (or the semi), even we do lose ( which I suspect some fans want to), it's still a great achievement. It's been years since we last felt we confident go into a big match against Elite teams , I reckon last time we had that was first season under Conte, and we didn't have European games. I get it some aren't happen because of the Lampard factor, and his replacement just made it work in a few months, so the l

Lol well that post came mainly form a place of anger at the time after Frank's sacking. Anger at the players letting him down, for downing their tools and playing well below the levels we expect and at gloating from other fans that had been saying Frank was not good enough, that he had enough time and should be out the door. From Chelsea people becoming almost insulting to a club legend. I felt our players were (with a few exceptions) nowhere near as good as many believed and that TT would find it hard to get enough out of them. On that last part I can admit I was clearly wrong and w

  25. Tbh I’m hoping United win against Liverpool, because if we win against Arsenal tomorrow, hopefully, and Liverpool lose then mathematically we’re guaranteed top 4 because by that point we would be 67 points and Liverpool if they win there remaining three games would be 66 and west ham if they win there three remaining games would be 67 points but we would go through because of the goal difference.

  28. Think you are pretty close there. I think as has been suggested earlier anyone bar who played most of or all of Real and City will be rested to manage the workload as TT alluded to. So I believe from his presser that means we may well see: Kepa Zouma Silva Emerson James Jorginho Gilmour Alonso Mount Havertz Pulisic Only question marks I have there are whether Chilwell comes back in for Alonso as he was rested for City and if TT decides to start CHO. I base this on the side I expect TT to fiel

  29. I agree that we should go with the strongest team possible and unfortunately with Azpi, Kante, Rudiger and Werner having started 2 high intensity games in the space of a few days I would not be risking them against Arsenal, any potential injury at this stage of the season basically means the season is over for that player. Jorginho and Pulisic could potentially start as they weren't involved in both games (City & Real).

He did the rebuild bit fine, promoted the best youth and the signings have been largely good (I'm convinced all our signings will come good next season). We needed someone who would put the club firmly before his own gains and he did that. The question mark always was would he have had the tactical edge to enjoy the fruits of his labour and unfortunately that proved not to be the case.

Not sure if he is good enough on the ball for Tuchel. He doesnt have to leave though, If Tuchel contacted him and told him he wanted him to stay and was apart of his plans for next season Tomori could reject Milan and stay with us.

I think he will do a good job in the outside centreback positions. He is technically sound. Has pace for days and is deceptively strong. hopefully Milan dont make the champions league and hence cant afford him or we could be looking at another KDB or Salah situation. I remember we had the same deal for Salah to Fiorentina, he balled out and Fiorentina paid the sell on clause. Fiorentina then sold Salah to Roma who sold him to the Scousers and the rest is history. I will never understand why Frank froze him out like that.

That's a ridiculous thing to say. Simply because 1 part of his game was brilliant, doesn't negate the need to improve on other things where it would be beneficial to the team. I didn't criticize his crossing delivery into the box. In fact, I specifically said, "for all of his nice crossing, he often makes the wrong decision with more simpler passes".

    Random Rumours

👏.. he has what we are missing in our midfield; we don’t have a player to physically dominate teams in the middle of the park, he is also the perfect box to box player. Unlike Kante who has been brilliant, he can pick the final pass and has a end product. It will be a nightmare if he ends up at Utd as he is the ideal replacement for Pogba.

Why not both Reece and Tomori for the role? I think Reece is versatile enough to play as a RCB, RWB and RB in the team and I believe long term the top tier teams are playing with incredibly high defensive lines and playing Tomori with his exceptional pace in a back 3 with Rudiger/Zouma on the alternative side with Christensen in the middle is a solid back line. I feel we can better utilise Reece's strengths as a RWB as his delivery from the wing is incredible whereas as a RCB he will most likely occupy more central and deeper areas, I would prefer him as a backup RCB with his primary posi
