  1. Man Utd look like rabbits caught in the headlights here. They need to remember who they are, that Fernandes is their captain, that they have the dodgiest ref in the country, and cheat like their lives depend on it!

I'm sorry Sindre, IMO you don't have a leg to stand on here. Any reasonable person who watched that first half and saw how Gilmour and Jorginho were performing could see one was playing really well and the other was playing very poorly, (and I'm not just talking about culpability for the Arsenal goal). No credible argument can be made for the decision to take Gilmour off and keep Jorginho on. Particularly when we then had to go out and chase goals against a team defending deep. As others have pointed out, Jorginho is usually as much use as an ash-tray on a motorbike in those circumstances

    Next new Striker

I think over the last few weeks a number of fans (Including Myself) started getting comfortable with the idea of maybe not bringing in a striker and persevering with Kai and Werner even if Tammy and Giroud were to leave. I think last night's result indicates the importance of having a good striker in the squad especially against a team setup with a low-block, the striker doesn't necessarily have to be World Class but someone who has natural instincts of putting the ball in the back of the net. For example Danny Ings would most likely put the first chance away which Kai missed and would al

  6. All the good work of the weekend, with results in our favour undone by complacency, overthinking the schedule ahead. Successful teams usually try to keep a settled team, as few changes as possible , win the game and rest players on the hour. Resting the keeper is nonsense, its why most no2s only see action in cup matches these days, reward for being patient. Most players prefer to play than train and the adrenalin of the goal keeps them focused. The ironic part about last night was that on entering the pitch we had '3 Finals' to play, win last night and we had as good as secured our first aim

  7. I'm still annoyed at this result for what it means. A loss to this Arsenal, that deserve to be fighting for relegation, is annoying in itself. This loss also means that we haven't wrapped up top 4 and have to go full strength in the last two PL games. But, the most exasperating thing is the way that we always confront these games. Last night was not down to full rotation, only Kepa and Gilmour were not usual starters (one could also argue that Zouma is not a bang on starter, but has played more regularly), and they weren't the worst of the lot. We lost thanks to a Jorginho brainfart (again), o

Starting Gilmour tonight means f**k all when we're losing, playing terribly, Gilmour is by far our best player on the night and...... you take him off. At half time..... You're defending the indefensible here. Tuchel f**ked up and couldn't see the obvious that we all could.

  9. Well, here we are again! Another final! Another potential name change! If we play like we have been of late, then we should win this! However as we know Leicester are no push overs, they can be very good on their day. I just hope their recent poor form carries over into this game. The worrying thing is they have lost all four of their FA Cup final appearances, and surely the law of average would suggest that maybe it's there time? Hopefully not! Anyway COME ON THE CHELS!!!

  23. You don't take Jorginho off for a poor 45 mins and leave Gilmour on. He's been good under Tuchel and he's important to the way we play. If you take him off you risk his confidence taking a turn and he's likely going to be important for us in the CL final and the run in. Gilmour is young and has time on his side. He's not starting the CL final, he's playing now because of the fixture congestion and the risk of not injuring Kante. Its not hard to understand the manager picking someone with experience to get them back in the game. I was fully expecting Gilmour to get subbed. The problem

    Tammy Abraham

As much of a "natural goalscorer" he is he also missed a hell of a lot of chances under Lampard. Both last season and this one. And he's a pure poacher that fall short on a lot of the basics. Considering how well we have done under Tuchel I think it's going to be hard to argue he should have played more.

  25. But France had Griezmann and Mbappe in their starting XI who between them scored 8 goals in a combined 14 appearances. When you've got Kai Havertz and Timo Werner routinely missing gilt-edged chances the arguement instantly falls apart.

  28. Looking at it again this how I see it. Kepa is making himself available for a simple back pass from Zouma and we clear it. Zouma has a brain fart and passes it to Jorginho who is immediately put under pressure and tries a back pass without even looking where Kepa is. That goal was 20% on Zouma, 80% on Jorginho and 0% on Kepa who did well to prevent an own goal. Gutted to lose to this lot and the first time they've done the double over us in the league since the 2003/2004 season. It's the Chelsea way though, always keeping us in suspense. Looking forward to the FA Cup Final now.

  30. There was a time where I was naive and thought that if I explain my perspective and show a whole bunch of different angles and things that people would be open to see a different view about a player but that never really worked out well, I learned that people tend to hold their view regardless of what is being said. So I don't even want to go there, I'm just pointing out that we tried to play without the type of a player like Jorginho already this season, and it didn't work out. You can argue that there are better players out there but if Jorginho was really that average he wouldn't last

Tommy will have to take it on the chin tonight, but i won't lose any sleep over the loss, Arteta can have his day, hope he keeps his job, if not he would do well at Stoke, very similar ethos to Arsenal.

  32. 99.99% Jorginho's fault, but it's no coincidence that Kepa is the keeper caught out by it, did he need to go after the ball after scrambling back heroically to save it ? should of stayed on his line after that.

  34. Jesus wept. The knee jerks on here. Jorginho, despite being immaculate has one off game and it's sell him back to Sarri. We gift them a goal and don't take our chances, it's just one of those days. Expect a reaction on Saturday and keep your chins up.

  35. Is anyone else sick and tired of hearing about Man City, how great a team they have, how great their Manager is, how Foden is the 2nd coming and when they get turned over the pathetic excuses the media make; that they never played their best 11; they only played their reserves, so and so is injured. City deserve the win the CL because of they need to, to put the icing on the cake, because they are the best in Europe. Personally I am sick to death of this sh*t...City and Pep have been exposed by CFC and TT and the media just don't want to admit it...I hope we trounce them in the final and that

    Random Rumours

Leicester likes to do smart business though. The season after an up-and-comer breaks out, they tend to fade a bit thus lowering the asking price and that's when Leicester swoops in. They did it with a lot of ther current players like Soyuncu and Tielemans. That being said, they are not exactly that crazy about winning trophies so those players can take their time whilst ours need to hit the ground running

  43. Go back and watch his goals for Leverkusen. He is, or at least was, at the time, extraordinarily composed in front of goal. Almost as if it just didn't faze him and he made it all look so easy with his technical ability and smart finishing. Same goes for the German national team. He's consistently performing for them. At Chelsea so far, especially when it comes to finishing, sadly we've only seen glimpses here and there. I expect that to improve significantly next season.

  44. On the contrary KonaKai, I believe tonight's dismal showing has made the cup final a must win and ramped the pressure up on TT to deliver the FA cup big time. Not so much for the actual trophy, as much as some of us love the famous old cup very much. But because of what TT honestly admitted. He was focusing on this game when he should have been focused on Arsenal, he left Kante and Rudiger at home and had the two Tinos on the bench who he was never, ever going to use instead. His lack of interest in Arsenal and his priority for the cup transmitted to the players and cost us 3 points

What’s with this boring rhetoric that Tuchel is immune to criticism. He’s just been on sky and admitted he made a mistake with the starting 11. So you want us to all praise him unconditionally even when he acknowledges he made mistakes himself? People didn’t have a problem sticking the boot in on Frank but can’t take a bit of criticism towards Tuchel when it’s perfectly warranted, bizarre.

Bollocks. Jorginho defensive fibre? You’ve got to be kidding? Maybe when we sit deep he can cut passing lanes but when we’re pressing high he doesn’t have the physical attributes to cover ground. When has Mount ever played particularly well when playing deep in a two for us? Not a single game comes to mind. He was involved a lot in the first half and barely got involved in the second. Are you intentionally failing to understand? It’s not about who he replaced him with. It’s about the player who was hooked. If that was one of the youngsters who put in that shocker in the

  49. I don't think the difference between our teams is all that great, if you take into context the full season they clearly have been the better and more consistent team which is understandable considering they have a more settled team and coaching staff. However since TT has come in our performances and results have been fairly similar and we have also beaten them in the process too, I don't think it's as lopsided as some may believe and we are certainly not as big underdogs as we were in 2012. Come On Chelsea!!!!
