  1. Mendy is our best signing in recent times - what a keeper!

  5. What do you want TT to do? Show a scan with a specialist to explain things in more detail? Actually have an interview with Christian to prove he is injured? What do you want? Are you not in the least bit interested on how ‘we’ll’ do against Juventus?

  6. City have faced Tottenham, PSG, us and Liverpool and have won once. Liverpool have faced us and City at Anfield and have won none. So if we have a problem, our biggest rivals got the same one.

    Timo Werner

I’m just glad that our stadium/away ends are full of people that back Timo every step of the way instead of slagging him off like people are in here. I’m going to competently disagree with most of what’s been said. Shocking footballer? No chance. Like it or not Werner is one of our most important players, I know if I have a choice of playing Timo/Mount/Kai with Lukaku I’m choosing Timo nearly every time. I’m not gonna disagree that he needs to start scoring goals but to say that he ‘only works hard’ is massively harsh on him, he’s an intelligent player that combines it with hard work, it’s not as if he’s just running around like a headless chicken

    Official Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel on Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech: "We always try to do the best but at some point, after a lot of chances, we have to admit Kai and Hakim are not in their best shape. It's maybe not even their fault. They struggle to be decisive." I’m glad Tuchel is digging out Havertz and Ziyech. They have been poor this season and offered very little.

  11. Probably because Chelsea fans are f**king brilliant people who actually support their players (continuing long after they’ve left too) and Man United fans are a bunch of fickle c**ts.

    Timo Werner

He's got 14 goals and 16 assists in 60 appearances for Chelsea. He's directly contributing to a goal every 2 games. As an attacking player he's overall contrinution has been solid. He's never going to be one of the World's best but right now we're a much bigger attacking threat when he plays in the team.

    Billy Gilmour

Did poor wee Billy sit on you as a child? That is nowhere near the concensus on that forum and I assume you know that. Those comments are in a thread titled "Drop Gilmour". I've been on that forum since the start of the season and the concensus is that Billy needs to be played in a midfield with a proper defensive structure in order to thrive.

  14. Some of the posts are hilarious. People: 21/22 yo going through a rough patch so sell him. Same people: we will always regret selling Salah and KDB, how could we do something so stupid. And this is a player who was instrumental in winning us the Champions League - his performances in the end of last season including the semis and final were fantastic. Hilarious to see the Ross Barkley love in because he made one good pass 😂 I'm happy Barkley is there as a squad player. He is hardly the future.

  15. That's complete doggone bullsh*t, Tuchel is a liar. Pulisic is obviously not injured, we need to drain the swamp at Stamford Bridge.

  16. No, he won't... Tuchel was due a loss v Guardiola at some point and City have one of the best squads in Europe. He is human and it is a normal thing to make mistakes from time to time. He got it wrong today. So what? Some you win, some you lose. It was clear from the start his primary goal was not to lose the match. It backfired - it happens to the very best all the time. Time to move on from this. Mourinho used to play like this v Burnley and Palace with a team full of internationals and Roman only pulled the trigger when it was all beyond repair, not after some meaningless games in September, having just come off a Champions League win some months ago, his favourite competition. I know Chelsea did not look good today, but come on, Tuchel deserves more respect for what he's done in such a short time. We've been spoilt with some tactical wizardry from Tuchel in all the big matches we've played under him some far, now give the guy a break, it is madness to think we were going to now have Guardiola and City's number everytime we play them.

  18. This is the issue that needs addressing, we can all see that we're not the same team as last season. The pros vs the cons of Lukaku signing had to have been weighed up by Tuchel, his coaches and the board. There must be a solution otherwise this looks like poor planning. Plain and simple we needed to score more goals and brought in an elite striker, yet we don't play to his strengths whilst also recently playing in a way that highlights his limitations. Rom should be fit enough to press much more aggressively but, the fact remains that he looks so much better at the point of a front 3 than in a duo in which he has less passing options. I think 352 is more of an issue than a solution whether I'm right or Tuchel sees this is another debate entirely. Our pressing game looks so much worse in 352 than 343 I also don't see why we would even need to change to 352 since 343 actually offers more midfield overload and passing options it just seems like a less obsolete system for this team when maximising output. If you're playing 352 with this squad then it needs to be 3412 with the AM popping up in the hole with the sole responsibility to thread the attack and defense together rather than having 2 8s in a 352 who can't shoot or assist. Either way though you lose a body when playing out, because even when Timo drops deep in a 352 it again leaves Lukau isolated. Lukaku needs at least two players he can knock the ball off to who will run in behind and allow him time to get into the box. If you add in the wingbacks in a 3421 then he should have 4 options whereas in a 352 its more like 3 consistent options and occasionally a overlapping midfielder.

    Billy Gilmour

He looks underwhelming because Norwich is such a bad fit for him, I have no idea why we sent him there. Most sides are just going to dominate Norwich and steamroll them week after week. How is a player that's key characteristic is to recycle possession, pick out forward passes etc. meant to stand out in a side that's constantly on the backfoot. He's not a defensive player but is having to do a lot of a defending. He can't look good in a side that's scored 2 goals this season, the attacking players around him clearly aren't good enough. Norwich were meant to be a possession based side but they currently sit 14th in the possession stats table for the league with an average possession of 45% after 7 games.

  27. Given how poor the midfield and full backs were, I’d say Lukaku shouldn’t be the main focus for criticism or scrutiny. I remember one poor bit of hold up play where he should have done a lot better but basically we never had the ball and the lethargic play from deep was the main issue. It’s not as if city’s defenders had the ball that much for Lukaku to press them

  32. Pulisic's injury record is just embarrassing at this point. He's never going to establish himself as a first team player if he's going to miss the majority of matches through injury. If it carries on like this we should consider selling up and putting faith in CHO instead.

It's quite refreshing to have a manager that quite literally don't give two sh*ts about your name. If you take your chances and perform you get to play (Trev, RLC, Kepa, even Barkley) and if you don't you have to keep fighting until you convince him. It was always a ridiculous view but several thought he had something against the academy boys last season and now Chalobah & RLC who very few gave a chance to make it here and playing important roles for the current league leaders. Which is great to see.

  36. Yeah I think whatever criticisms one can have about TT, hard to argue that he’s not fair or has any sort of agenda / favourites. Havertz and Ziyech don’t deliver. So they get dropped and TT offers constructive criticism. RLC gets a chance, takes it, gets selected… how it should be.

  38. I think you may be letting Kai's goal in the Champions League final gloss things a bit last season. Yes he did have a few decent games and showed some signs that he might go on to great things this season. But I'm not sure I would go as far to say he was fantastic as a false 9 in all those games. If Werner could actually finish then maybe we would have invested in a different position than CF this summer. But the fact that Kai was playing false 9 illustrated the issues we had in that position overall. I feel that the key to those games in the run to the Champions League win, was that we most considered underdogs. That worked massively in our favour with Tuchels' tactical approach. Now we are no longer underdogs in a lot of these games we need a different strategy, and so far he is still trying to figure that out it seems.

  39. Lukaku is the reason why we can beat smaller teams this season, but he's also the reason why we can't beat the bigger teams. The simple fact is that in these big games, he's not good enough, he never has been and never will be. His presence alone has messed up our game against these top sides, you can see it. The workrate on and off the ball isn't the same, the movement isn't the same and the touch play isn't the same. There is a hesitancy in the passes from midfield because they know before they play the pass that Lukaku's touch can't be trusted and the move is likely to breakdown. I have seen this at every level of the game Lukaku has played at. Even the best passers in the game like De Bruyne and Eriksen have had that hesitancy in their game when playing with Lukaku, and it's all because his touch isn't good enough and he doesn't get the ball out of his feet quick enough. At the very top level, that extra second he needs to sort his feet out is enough to kill an attack. The best defenders see that in Lukaku's game and exploit it every single time. He can get away with it against defenders that are a step down in quality, but he can't get away with it against the top teams. I see people say he makes good runs, but it's not good enough, not by modern day standards. For a striker of 15-20 years ago, it was good enough, but the modern day striker needs to be able to twist and turn, roam around the attacking areas, pull out wide and leave space for the other attackers to run into. Werner, Pulisic, Mount and Havertz did this a lot under Tuchel in big games last season, and if it wasn't for poor finishing, it would have been the most lethal attack in Europe. Lukaku doesn't have it in him to do it and when he tries......well, we saw what happens when he attempted that cross towards the end of the game tonight. They aren't better finishers, but they open up the best defences better than Lukaku ever could because their movement is so much harder to read. We all knew these problems with Lukaku existed before he joined us. We can't pretend the past 10 years didn't happen just because he is now in a Chelsea shirt.
