  1. How'd he do that without Nkunku and Lavia?

  2. I, like many of my internet dilettante brethren, dedicate a lot of time to watching the Portuguese League. As a result I have a valid and well-informed opinion which is worthy of consideration. Take for example: - Superficial similarity to José Mourinho (they are both Portuguese and won things at a young age); - Premier League experience (he has Trincão and Liverpool legend Sebastián Coates in his team, as well as a guy called Marcus Edwards); - Seems to play a back three (this might remind us of happier times under Tuchel/Conte); - Has a high WhoScored rating; - That JorginhoFTSZN guy on Twitter says he's quality. Trust me, he knows his stuff, he uses the words 'inverted' and 'half space' a lot. - Have it on good authority that he would bring with him that Swedish guy whose name I can't spell (thought of it on the toilet). - His name is Ruben which will make many of us think wistfully of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and all the wacky things Tuchel made him do. Anyway, that is ironclad proof that he is the next coming of Guardiola/Sacchi/whoever. Plus my sources tell me he's interested (Portuguese bird I failed to chat up at the pub).

  3. What about this season makes you think we're ever getting near top 4 under Pochettino? 9 months and we haven't improved one bit.

  5. Let's follow your reasoning. If Amorim gets here and takes us to 6th and then 4th, he doesn't need leave to manage a more advanced project because in two years time he has advanced this project to top 4 and the players have matured in two seasons. So this part of your reasoning does not follow. If we stick with Pochettino and stay mid table (if not relegation battle) for 5 years for the sake of stability and because he's a likeable guy (to the board and players, because few fans really like him any more), then what? Most quality players would have gone to more advanced projects (as you put it) because they want to win trophies, even if they like Pochettino, and we are nowhere with the project, which would then be considered to have been a total clusterf**k. It just doesn't make sense.

The End of Season Poch Poll

This is the main thing, nothing is better in our play, no one is a better player, theres no direction, no obvious pattern or style of play, no idea what he does to them at half time. Just nothing has advanced since he got here over the past few seasons.

  7. This idea that no new manager would do well with our players is utter nonsense, its been seen many many times that getting the right manager in can and does make a huge difference. The difficult part is getting the right one, obviously.

  8. Pochettino has failed to advance the project in any way. It's not if but when he leaves.

  9. What's annoying is, the times we do hoof it clear, on many occasions I see Jackson win it and hold it up really well, or lay it off to a teammate.

    Rangers 2023-2024

Rangers v Dundee . 1964 Scottish Cup Final. Rangers won 3-1. 120,982 officially watched. The packed north Hampden terracing shows only one spectator passageway of the three without spectators on it. The crowd was probably close to 150,000 that day. The official Hampden capacity in April 1964 was 134,000

  13. What happens when they revolt - will they play poorly and not give 100% effort?

  14. My recollection is that I was witty and graceful, however everyone I was there with that night swears I spent ten minutes talking to a cardboard cut-out of Shakira. Bunch of wind-up merchants, honestly...

    Kendry Paez

He looks a real talent! I'm concerned he plays too many forward passes and likes to shoot - I am confident Cobham can address these attacking flaws.

  17. Since I believe you still have me on block, I'll answer my own question . Jackson always played off of someone, not as a lone striker.

  18. Better for him, better for us not to be playing a damaged player.

  19. Mate I'm a fan of the player but I'm more a fan of the team, if a manager doesn't rate Mudryk and performs better without him then so be it.

  20. I don't get this at all. Why would a manager take over one of the biggest clubs in the world, be successful in getting the club closer to challenging for trophies/back in the champions league and then leave? When does that ever happen? Where would he even go?
    2 points
  21. Good, his injury has obviously hampered him this season along with Poch's 'tactics'. Hopefully by the time he's back we'll have a new manager that actually knows how to play him.

Poch In or Out? (Feb 24)

And look how quick many of you turned on Tuchel as soon as he had a blip in form, including yourself. Not saying you're entirely wrong, and even I'm off the Pochettino train. But there's a section of fans that literally can't give a manager time even when results aren't going our way.

  23. Lol please don't compare Rice and Caicedo. Put the stats with no context aside for one second, Rice is miles ahead of Caicedo. I was clamouring for us to get Rice instead, but here we are. The board has some weird obsession with Caicedo. Does Liverpool still want him for 110m?

  28. Was at this game. Chelsea won 3-2. Crowd was just under 7,500. Dale Jasper was a substitute and went missing. Tannoy announcements were made asking if anyone has seen him.

  30. I will not comment on any of our midfielders until Poch is gone. The amount of space they have to defend, the lack of movement in front of them (all due to Poch's structure). Don't be silly guys, these are young players who have been given ZERO tactical advice. Poch made Lionel Messi look average, do not turn on them.

  31. We were cruising to a really comfortable 2-0 win over them at Stamford Bridge. I’m certain we would have won if it wasn’t for Sanchez being a thick twat.

  33. I couldn't watch us playing the " bait the press" football that Brighton play, it's suicidal. Mind you, where would we be if we only spent what Brighton do, and sold our best players every season ? f**king hell , we're stuck on halfway after breaking spending records ! I've seen them beat us too many times too feel that much superior to them tbh.. The only reason I want Citeh to win tonight is to pip Arsenal to the title and I'm thinking that when teams need to break a poor spell, Chelsea are the side most likely to oblige, so I'm not looking forward to playing them at the Amex. 😁😁

  35. Not going to this one, sold my ticket as many of my match going friends. Tuesday's performance has drained me of any energy and will I had left to go watch this lot.

  36. The vogue at the moment is generally 3-2-4 in attack and 4-3-2-1 in defence. If you squint that's kinda what Poch has been doing with us.

  37. Since when is NOT getting hammered a standard? Poorer and worse teams have put up better fight than us, it's not like they were amazing, we just handed them the win by poor selection and not doing the bare minimum. Just to say we miss our best attacker and a defender is just another lame excuse. A half decent manager would at least know park the bus and try to hang in there, we couldn't even do that. Poch will stick around until the season ends at least, I'm not fussed about it, getting another interim seems to be another unnecessary drama after what we had last season. He should be out, but it's a different era with far interior standard, so..

  38. Yep, always rated Glasner. I've been advocating Slot as well. I think he is also someone that can impose his style quickly. That still is high intensity and high pressing football. He's now off to the scouse whilst we continue to faff around whilst we have the faint glimmer of a hope of sneaking a European spot away from those that have been challenging for it for most of the season.

  39. Remains to be seen if any of them come good. But so far Winstanley and Stewart get low grades. I think Nkunku (who even though injured most of the time has looked promising when fit) was also a Vivell signing.

  40. Pretty much this. And I don't only agree with Scott because he is 7 ft 3 of American muscle! I don't envisage any scenario where Pochettino is Chelsea manager next season (bar having photos of our glorious owners in compromising positions with donkeys). He had utterly lost the fans, hasn't installed any sort of seige mentality in the players and is beginning to make statements about the vision of the club. He has as much chance of being at the club's Xmas Dinnner next year as Thiago Silva's missus. We are fully in 'identify next manager ' mode now

  42. Palmer seems to be dealing with the pressure well enough, and he's 21. Gusto is 20 and also dealing with it fine. Same with Colwill when he's fit and he's also 21 years old. Also, he played CF with Villareal, he wasn't a winger.

  43. Most conceded goals in club's PL history, with 6 matches still to be played (Villa, Spurs, Brighton, West Ham, Forest, Bournemouth). So everyone that used to complain how we conceded goals only because Jorginho was playing, you got what you wished for...

  44. We're World Champions, Tommy Tuchel has guided us through a tough period off the field and we've been taken over by wealthy Americans who plan to spend £1 billion on players. Exciting times - the future looks very bright!

  45. embarassing this lot.. cant believe what i am seeing.. how is that not a foul.. Jackson is the best striker to have ever played for this club.. But Poch cant possibly survive this. how has he set this team up??? fcking muppet. should be sacked tomorrow.
