  3. Hey guys, just an update for you all. The reason I haven't been as active recently is because I've been working behind the scenes at Chelsea under a new role. I can now officially announce that I've been officially promoted to the role of Personal Ultimate Bakayoko Executive. What this role entails is preparing Bakayoko for his role as the next Declan Rice, in fact, better than Declan Rice. Petr Cech himself said that I will be in charge of all Bakayoko propaganda from today onwards. To start, I will tell you some Bakayoko facts that will increase his value and standing with fans: Bakayoko has more Serie A Goals than Alan Shearer and Lionel Messi COMBINED. One day a child came up to Bakayoko and asked: "Will I be as good of a football as you one day?" Bakayoko calmed replied "Of course, young one. Eat your vegetables and work hard" That child grew up to be Alex Sandro. Bakayoko also plugged a HDMI cable into his TV first try. Bakayoko once kicked a ball into space, that ball is now Venus. Anyway, I hope you guys have a lovely day. Love Tom

This is how I see the 3 French lads signed this window Konaté - Only played a couple of months of football. Scouser's think they got Upamecano Varane - Carried by Sergio Ramos for Years. Premier League is going to hit him hard! Koundé - Carried Sevilla single handedly by himself in defence and attack. All the pros of a young David Luiz without the flaws. Turn down Spurs, world class already.

    Official Thomas Tuchel

‘I accept the award very gratefully as a great honour for the entire team because I see myself as a team player,’ said Tuchel on receiving the award. ‘I don’t believe in individual awards too much, I truly believe it is a team effort, not only the players on the pitch everybody loves, but the team behind the team. I don’t do this alone. I do it with my staff, not only my German and Hungarian staff but all the people at Cobham. It’s incredible to be part of because there we have an incredible amount of quality and support. ‘Football teams can win without the coaches, but coaches cannot win without the team. It’s a reward for the team and what we did, and now let’s get on.’

Seriously, Arsenalification... How is that even a theory when we just won the CL again? I wonder if you have ever watched him play, not being taller doesn't automatically mean that he's less physical. Here he's 21 y/o in a sandwich and still tried to score with a header against Wolves: Here he's stopping Messi from scoring from a free kick by jumping: A pure defender like him that is comfortable being at any part of the pitch in order to tackle, close down or pass the ball is much better than your standard 6foot4 CB that is afraid to leave his area around the box and that would be outside of his depth if he needs to stop anyone that has pace.

Disagree on Reece. He was brilliant in the CL final and he can be world class as a right back, wing back, CB and CM. He has all the tools to be superb in all of them.

    Callum Hudson-Odoi

Some nice graphs and numbers there @Gol15 so I wanted to take a closer look. I like to look at data in context, so I wanted to compare Hudson-Odoi's data to the benchmarks in the league, as well as similar players (eg Saka, and our other wingbacks) to get an idea of what is exceptional and what is just ordinary in this league. The tl;dr summary is: Leads the team in quantity of passes/crosses but his xA accurately predicted his output, and it is quite low (0.25 assists per 90 mins) which suggests there are questions over the quality of his output. In other words, he's putting a lot of balls into the box, but the low xA suggests they aren't always in good areas for the recipient. Top attackers in the league have an xA over 0.30 per 90 mins; our closest player is Ziyech with 0.28. His numbers compare very favourably to top wingbacks/fullbacks (eg Alexander-Arnold, Cancelo) but are merely decent for wingers/attacking midfielders. As a wingback, he tends to receive the ball in space far more often, whereas as an attacking midfielder he is required to receive the ball and make plays in much tighter areas. How much do the tactical differences influence his output? GCA/SCA are very nebulous stats that attempt to quantify the 'creativity' of a player but their validity (in the data science sense) is difficult to establish, as they are based on the last two plays leading to a goal or shot. For example: If Hudson-Odoi splits the defence for Werner to cross the ball to Mount for a tap-in, all three are awarded a Goal Creating Action (GCA) If Thiago Silva passes the ball 5 yards to Jorginho, who plays a through-ball to Werner, all three are awarded a GCA This means that the stat can be useful for midfielders and attackers, but less useful if the player is a defender. It's possible that Hudson-Odoi's time at WB could majorly inflate this. The GCA/SCA graph posted merely suggests that if Hudson-Odoi is involved in a move, it's likely to lead to a goal. Without accounting for game state, or the quality of opposition, there's not a lot we can glean from this especially because of the above. The progressive carries data is interesting. This is a stat that looks at how many times the player carries the ball towards the opposition goal; again, this is heavily influenced by position and tactics. Hudson-Odoi is actually exceptional even for a fullback/wingback, and this probably shows where his tactical value to Tuchel lies. The dribbling graph is somewhat misleading as it doesn't take into account position/tactics. Statistically, defenders + midfielders will always have better dribble percentages than any attacker because they are moving the ball in a less congested, less pressed part of the field. The only out-and-out attacker who appears in the top 30 EPL players for dribbling % is Bernardo Silva! That explains the lopsided nature of the graph. Hudson-Odoi (53.6%) still rates as pretty good for wingbacks/fullbacks in the EPL, but pales in comparison to Reece James (75%!) - that suggests we can't read too much into this once we account for position/role. The data confirms his potential but we all know that. It's telling that some of his statistics are 'inflated' by position - if we were to look at it really harshly, the data might suggest that he could be an average winger, but a world-class wingback. However, that really just relegates him to being football's next Victor Moses, not the electric winger we all want him to be, and assumes he has no room to improve. I think this season is where he has to really push himself to demonstrate he can be a top-tier attacking midfielder because otherwise his career will be a footnote as an 'interesting tactical solution'.

Is a Sancho replacement so has zero outcome on the Haaland transfer. Unbelievable signing for them and will work well with Haaland. Their new manager employs a 2 striker system so will be interesting to see how they link up!

    Erling Haaland

"Before yesterday I didn't speak to my agent in a month... It's a lot of money, I hope it's just rumors (*smiley face*), because that's a lot of money for a person." Expert analysis: 1. He is talking to his agent after not having contact at all for the previous month, could it be because it's a very real option for him to join Chelsea? 2. He recognizes that it's a lot of money involved and says that he hopes that it's just rumors. So if it's not just rumors, then he would need to make a decision. Him smiling is a sign that if the offer comes he wouldn't reject it.

Where there is smoke there is fire, too many things line up just like the 2012-2021 CL titles. It can't be that on the same day both clubs release videos of their player, it can't be that after winning the CL we signed E. Hazard and that now we are linked with E. Haaland, all the things can't be just...a coincidence...

Grealish is pretty good but not what we need now at all. He scores about 6 goals a season, might do better with us, but he doesn’t solve any problems or even necessarily fit our style. And we have an excess of talent in that part of the pitch.

He was a great member, good laugh and fitted in, even had his own little clique of followers. He decided to take things to heart when a few members complained about his thread derailment in certain places. He threw his toys out of the pram in random chat thread (which I, and others believed was a joke). It wasn’t, he self exiled and went and spoke down about people here to any Chelsea group online that would listen. His main account here was never banned and people hoped he would come back once he saw he was being a bit of a dick. The problem is he came back trying to disguise himself as a new member and went round playing the victim and even turned on his so called ‘forum friends’. He’s now gone off again to any Chelsea group online that will listen to him and again speaking down about people here claiming that he was a new member. It is probably one of the weirdest situations we’ve ever seen here from what seemed to be, a really decent and generally funny person. The intro thread from his alt account is in the Shed End Lounge and probably says it better. Due to those games, it was only right to restrict the main account now, he has easy means to contact the forum if he wants to talk.
