  1. ^^^ In answer to the above question I'm beginning to doubt whether this season can continue much longer in England. The number of games being called off is increasing and more teams are having to field seriously weakened teams. Derby County for example on Saturday in the Cup tie against Chorley were missing their entire first team squad along with most of the U23's who would usually step up. 9 of the 11 players starting were making their first team debuts so it's no suprise they lost to Chorley. It was a great result for Chorley but it was hardly a fair contest in the circumstances.
  2. A decent result in the end and kudos to their keeper for some cracking saves. I thought Kepa had a good game as well. I'm glad Frank put out a team which respected the FA Cup. Ok we might have got through with a few more youth team/academy players but why chance it ? The 4th Round draw is about 7pm on Monday ( UK time ) but I've heard earlier it's also going to include the 5th Round pairings for the first time ever. What on earth is that all about ?
  3. That's just crass and classless. To make it worse he absolutely smashed into the roof of the net from a foot off the line having completely miscrontolled the intial cross and got lucky. The pr*ck. I thought Marine's 20 year old keeper had a very good game and certainly deserved some respect.
  4. I thought maybe the cameras might have missed it but I think you're right. I don't think he acknowledged any of them. I thought his pre match inteview was arrogant as well. When asked what it was like to play an FA Cup match at a ground like this he ignored the question and spoke about himself and his team. A little bit of recognition for how much Marine had achieved by reaching this stage of the cup and how well they did to stage the game in what is not far off a pub team venue wouldn't have gone amiss would it ?
  5. This result was almost inevitable. Arsenal going into the game on the back of their worst start to a season since 1974/75. A team seemingly in freefall riven with internal disputes and an obvious lack of discipline on and off the field and a manager possibly one game away from being sacked. They put out a team this evening who most pundits agreed was one of the weakest teams they have fielded for a very long time. Then along come Chelsea. They step up, and we collapse like a pack of cards. We were lucky it was only 3-1 in the end. Gutted to be quite honest.
  6. The more I've watched the replays the more I'm convinced Giroud's effort was going wide of the post. That still doesn't excuse Werner though, that was an unforgivable miss by any standard.
  7. But Liverpool weren't even playing yesterday, the first highlights shown last night were West Ham v Man Utd closely followed by us v Leeds. 😉 I think I get your point though.
  8. I tend to agree with the vast majority of your posts Scott but having just stumbled upon this one from about 20 months ago I couldn't resist the urge to rub your nose in it. Olivier '4 goals' Giroud is thankfully still doing the business 😉.
  9. It was a ridiculous decision. Var is getting so many things wrong again this season despite the fact the refs can now view a monitor and change it.
  10. No worries, so was I and I apologise for my tetchy comment 👍
  11. Maybe you should read my post again. I said we have been 'spoilt' by the fact we've had some great goalkeepers in the past.
