Nothing really, i think they just dont want it being leaked/confirmed until the Colwill part is signed off.   I dont think any other club would have done it, maybe its just a Brighton thing.
the agreement for Cucurella is also dependant on Colwill, its obvious despite it not being a "swap" per se

Well, Roman can still reject Raine's suggestion.  which is why even when Boehly was announced preferred bidder (although not by Raine publicly) i wasn't so sure it was done deal

Having Ken Griffin behind them is a huge bonus for their bid, he's filthy rich and a big football fan, just never invested into it before.
 
Plus, I have to admit, if Griffin is the money man in this potential ownership, funding everything; I do think the Ricketts will have to run us totally different to the Cubs.   So I am not paying a massive amount of attention to their current ownership style, or past comments.   Make no mistake IMO, Griffin is the yes or no man

re. Ricketts though, when you consider Raine may have asked for proof of ability to commit to spending and continuing to invest, its hard not to consider their bid when Ken Griffin is funding it, worth roughly 25-30bn

Saudi media would be approved in no time. UK govt are all behind the Saudi's now claiming how much they are welcome in the UK etc and like reported in the media, how can you let newcastle be took over by Saudi's but not chelsea.  Because if the epl/govt say "no, they cant buy Chelsea because of their links to Saudi govt"  then you have to boot Newcastle's owners out...

I also think its possible that once a buyer is chosen, and all the funds and whatever are proven... the sanctions may get lifted, because the changing of ownership would be in full swing....  and at that point once the fee is quite obviously going to be paid and has been held in an escrow account, and absolutely proven to not be going to Roman, they'll let us operate fully again.  Essentially wha i am saying is that i think a lot of, if not all, sanctions will be removed before our  new owner is officially "in charge"

FWIW i definitely think there is other bids, and identity wil be known soon; and i think they may even beat Wyss/Boehly to the punch, but they'll need to be quick as those 2 are out in front.  Be interesting to see if the other 2 or 3 with Boehly and Wyss are also multi billionaires....

Who could afford the club that would invest? Either Americans that still call the sport "soccer" cause they already own the Miami Dolphins or middle east oil/state money.
Either way a soulless investment. All those who hate Chelsea are using this as an excuse to drive away the best owner in football.

Im sure that guy has predicted us to win less than 10 games this season.   I may be exaggerating, but if you worked out our league position based on his predictions, we'd be well in bottom half
