We had 6 players out for the 1st PL game, 7 for the 2nd, 9 for the 3rd, 10 for the 4th and 12 for the 5th.
Very hard to manage with that level of injuries.

MissouriBlue reacted to evissy in So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!Absolutely. And as said many times before, we don't have a settled team. Pochettino needs time with them and frankly the support from us. There is no other way to stop the vicious cycle that this club is in.

MissouriBlue reacted to axman2526 in Todd Boehly & Co buy Chelsea FCGiven the window is open till September 1 could well be they are happy enough taking their time to make sure they get the signings TT and the club agree upon together.
Could also be they wanted more time to get their data based transfer target lists up first and have gone after their "A" targets, succeeding in one case (Sterling) waiting on a second (Ake) and have missed out on others (De Ligt, Raphinha)

MissouriBlue got a reaction from Floyd25 in Newcastle V Chelsea (PL) Sun 26th Aug 16:00 UKWas that ref new to the prem this season? Don’t think I’ve ever seen him before and his control of the match was sh*te for the vast majority of the time.

MissouriBlue reacted to Osgood is Good in Christian PulisicIt's not a rumour, however have been watching this American kid (19 y/old) only for a short amount of time, but I do think Chelsea should be showing an interest in this kid. I've seen him in a couple of positions, but his best is where Willian/Pedro play.
He plays for B. Dortmund, has great pace, is direct and skillful, scores goal, creates chances, good passing range, can tackle, works hard. IMO he has it all and think he will be top class.
@MissouriBlue @TheChelseaBlues @robdog @General may also be able to give their opinions on Pulisic.

MissouriBlue got a reaction from HappyDays in Your unpopular opinion about ChelseaCahill is/was/always will be overrated. I never in a million years envisioned someone I perceive as a bench player to be the captain of our club when JT left.

MissouriBlue reacted to Brutos in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaThroughout all this he could have gotten What he wanted so easily simply by keeping his mouth shut coming back and being sold just like Matic and Nate. He is so badly advised he doesn't realise that his easy way out was to simply be a professional

MissouriBlue got a reaction from Maidstone Blue in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaThere was me thinking he wanted to be sure to pencil himself in for WC next year. He is fast putting himself in a position where we might just let him rot in Lagarto for the rest of his contract. Why do it to yourself? I just don't understand this 'who's dick is longer?' contest...

MissouriBlue reacted to CFCholland in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaIt's a shame he's such an idiot. We tend to treat our players in a very decent manner. We let Cech join the gunners because he wanted to stay in London, and we let Matic join United. If Costa had acted in the appropriate manner and handled this like a professional I'm sure we would have let him join his preferred club. Shame he has no decency about him.

MissouriBlue got a reaction from Argo in Alex SandroI agree 100%, not only have we had a lot less injuries season after season but we also get players back sooner than expected a lot of the time too. On the opposite end of the scale I have no idea what training/medical department Arsenal have but my God they are terrible. Are they using Shamanism to try and treat player injuries?
-
MissouriBlue reacted to Argo in Alex SandroWhy have even our own fans fell for the line that we get lucky with injuries? This is the first real injury crisis we have had since 2010, it's not a coincidence and it's down to the great work off our medical department, no luck in that whatsoever.

MissouriBlue reacted to Davey Baby in Random RumoursWindows didn't exist in those days though. I think this window thus far has been spectacularly bad. Yes we've signed Bakayoko and Morata, but they'll be replacing Matic and Costa, so it's pretty much like-for-like. We've got a decent back-up in Caballero, one that City didn't want to keep as back-up, and we've signed Rudiger and recalled Christensen, at the same time losing Zouma, Terry and Ake.
We haven't signed any WBs with the season underway and tough games looming, including City, Arsenal, Everton and Spurs. Even if we sign some players they'll need some time to bed in. We haven't replaced Chalobah, and if we lose Morata for any length of time we're probably in a lot of trouble.
We're certainly not stronger than last time round, our squad is much smaller, we have more games as a result of Europe and our rivals have strengthened. Then take into account the sale of Matic to Utd which our manager has said he was against. It's pretty unbef**kinglievable. Yes we'll buy players in the next 2 weeks, maybe as many as 5, but you rarely get a bargain towards the deadline and everybody knows we're desperate so we have no bargaining power, and very few of those purchases if any will be our first choice.
Not to put too fine a point on it, we're desperate. Our current squad boasts 15 senior outfield players. Yes we've come a long way since the old days but times have changed and in the present context the board have done a spectacularly bad job this summer, whatever happens. Our manager is in a rotten state of mind and that's no way to be starting the new season and it's scarcely what he deserved after his efforts last term.
I'm sorry but the board have got a lot to answer for in my opinion. What's Conte's net spend since he joined the club? He's got every right to feel aggrieved.
Jesus Christ are we mad? We've got one of the best managers in the whole wide world. Back him. A happy Conte will reap dividends for this club. We really do everything to sabotage sometimes.
Edit: I hope I'm wrong but whoever we sign in the next two weeks I fear irreparable damage may have been done in terms of the relationship between Conte and the board. Shame because it was all so f**king unnecessary.

MissouriBlue reacted to charierre in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaSimon Jordan was brilliant when talking about this, didn't sway from his view even when Jim White tried unsuccessfully to bring the topic back onto the anti Chelsea rhetoric that TalkSport have been sowing all week.
