I have never had any contact with PSG. I have played a lot against PSG recently - twice last season, again this season in a friendly and twice more in the Champions League this year. They are a good club who win their league easily."

"Me, I like playing in England. Paris is a very good club but I am happy at Chelsea."

"I have a contract for three years, so I will say 100 per cent [i'm staying at Chelsea]. Rumours affect any club where things are going badly. People think the top players want to leave because they are not in the Champions League."

well I am a little surprised with the tone of that response- I can't say I appreciate the condescension particularly given that a) I actually had a go- last time I put some questions to you I believe they were completely ignored and b) what you've written is not all that substantive.

I've answered what you've put across as plainly as I see it.  broadly what I'm saying is that he's been part of a big improvement in our youth set up and whilst there seem to be blind points I think he seems to be good at recruitment. so long as we have a good, strong permanent manager working with him I'm entirely comfortable with him as the technical director.  that is all. it is a different opinion to yours, not some wild defence or veneration of a person who as I have already said cannot be complacent about his position. what you seem to interpret as a kind of disingenuous hedging of bets is merely an honest appraisal. I'll avoid falling into your trap of calling opinions facts and simply say the reason I include criticisms even in a supposed defence is because I am incredibly mistrustful of absolutes. far more than you appear to be.

    anyway. here are my counterpoints:

-your conceit is that it matters (to some degree) about his experience before becoming technical director. I don't totally disagree but given he has been in situ for some time I am making my judgements entirely on the basis of what he has done for us. ultimately at this point in time that is what I'm concerned with. I have written about how he got to the club in the past before you were a member (unless you previously had a different membership). in any case he didn't appoint himself.

-you've written passionately about the mourinho sacking on a number of occasions. the way you describe us being tenth under emenalo's watch is a weird one. you seem to hold him more responsible for this season than jose. if indeed this is your opinion, it should follow that he is also more responsible for us being the current champions, and he deserves more credit than di matteo for the champions league win.

-regarding leadership I don't really know where to start. we had enough to win the title last season. most captains of nations are old. in fact outside of britain most captains are typically the player with the most caps. those tend to be the older ones. so you've created a bizarre circular argument, leaving aside how difficult it is to discern exactly what leadership is in any quantifiable sense. I would also add that jose was above all responsible for shaping the squad- this is evident in his job title and in the profile of players signed and sold.

-if you think jose's chances of retaining the title were torpedoed before the season began then this is a point we simply won't agree on. personally I think he's a good enough manager to have the squad he started with above leicester's. it appears you don't rate him quite as highly as you repeatedly claim.

-I don't care how often you've met forde or how good he is at conferences or powerpoint. your opinion of him is totally irrelevant here -as is mine- what I'm saying is that when he was at the club no-one ever criticised him in relationship to decisions taken by the club in the way they have done and continue to so with emenalo. it is a hypocrisy. it is a concept you are definitely au fait with, so you shouldn't need it spelling out.

your talk of begiristain at city again suggests you seem to think that these directors have more influence over the first team than the manager / head coach over the results in a given season. his track record at barcelona doesn't really come into the conversation of his assessment at city. one wonders what you would have said had emenalo signed mangala for £40m and bigiristain got zouma for £12m. one wonders...

Hi guys, leicester fan from australia here in peace!

Me and my old man have just booked flights back from australia for the last two games- with the hope that the miracle may, may happen. What a story it could be. The 3am games for the last couple of years would be so worth it.... Anyway, i think we have everton tickets.... obviously we are at the bridge on the final day. We need tickets, as a matter of urgency :) impossible in the foxes end sadly.  If any of you guys would be willing to sort us out in the home end you would be greatly rewarded. Please email me on adamroberts5001@hotmail.com with any availabilities!!!  Better us than spurs and arsenal hey! :)

Hes 23 and currently classed as one of the keepers in world football, yet people want us to sell him? Top clubs struggle to replace keepers all the time, we preempted the problem and now have a keeper that can be our first choice for a decade or more. Letting him go now after the first dip in his form would be unbelievably idiotic and short sighted. Back him, train out his weaknesses.

Regardless of whether you feel the club backed JM in the summer tranbsfer window, how on earth can it be acceptable to be 1 point above relegation and lose 9 of your first 16 games with a squad that just won the PL ?

We were absolutely AWFUL to watch as well. For a year.  I'm sure Roman could just about stomach the negative tactics when we were winning, or not losing, but when you back up sh*te football with a stream of losses then you really have nowhere else to go.

Add in all the off-field shenanigans as well. and it is indefensible, which is why many of the JM fans in this thread have become abusive and personal to other posters instead,

We saw what was happening under Jose this season and the performances were dreadful. He wasn't able to knock PSG out last year and they are even further ahead of us now.

No, IMO we were beaten by a better side last night. No shame in that and little difference another coach would have made.

I dont think anyone is suffering from amnesia, to some it was pretty obvious José had lost the playing group and support staff through a lot of stuff he brought on himself. But i can understand why hes teflon to some. Was a great manager for us, but it can only last so long before it impodes.Lets hope Conte can keep it going for longer and also he a bit better at bringing the kids through.

Yeah, fair enough. I doubt we'll ever see it eye to eye. To me the club did give him more than enough time to right the ship but it had just got to terminal and there was really no coming back with this group of players. He lost them so fast and so badly.

I think Jose needs to cop a lot of the blame as do all our senior players. Sad state of affairs we found ourselves in so soon after a cracking season.

Theres no denying that hes a great manager, the problem is that he has a shelf life. We've seen this elsewhere already.I am absolutely amazed by how quickly things went peared shaped (and am not happy about it), but i guess the sad reality of it is its easier for the club to replace the manager than it is to replace 8+ senior players.
José has to take a lot of responsibility for his downfall though. A lot of the bullsh*t could have been avoided.

In his first season, despite the hamstring problems he scored twenty league goals.
Apart from Drogba I think he's the first striker since Jimmy Floydd Hasselbaink to do that.
Despite his bad start to the season he's still close to a one in two goal ratio.
I think we'd regret letting him leave personally.

If we include Oscar who he replaced yesterday thats 6 players for 3 spots in the starting lineup. I know were all foreign to the concept of rotating since José never did, but that would leave him with plenty of oppurtunities under a manager that likes to utilize a bigger squad
