We don't overrate Hazard, he is actually among the top 5 best players in the world.

CB passes to LB,  LB passes to Winger, Winger passes to LB, LB passes to CB, CB passes to RB, RB passes to Winger, Winger passes to RB, RB passes to CB.......... Rinse and repeat for 90 minutes. Fecking clueless attack. Whiskey C*ck penetrates deeper then we do.

I think he can be a good player for us if used simply as a defensive midfielder. He struggled in his first season with us because he was young and needed to adapt to the EPL. But we played him in most games regardless and what actually put him under too much pressure was that we were expecting him to be one of the best box to box midfielder in the world. The expectations was too high for him, and not giving him time to adapt ruined his confidence. I still remember some of his struggles when sometimes he couldn't even control the simplest of balls, and those times when the ball is in the air and he wasn't under pressure but while jumping to head the ball he somehow completely missed it. I think he is actually a good player but misused here.

Caballero dealt remarkably well with all shots on target offered to us by Tottenham - as a result he has clearly proven himself as a contender for the #1 shirt.

He looked absolutely knackered last night, as did hazard. I was surprised he didnt come off instead of kovacic.
He's had a tough week, booed by his own supporters, missed a crucial penalty, and played every minute of 2 extremely demanding games.
I think he could do with a rest at the weekend, and then hopefully with the fixtures coming up, he can some confidence back.

Now there's a vintage Pedro performance for you: did everything at 50 miles per hour, wonderfully disciplined, but the things he did manage to pull off ultimately won us the game.

Not beating anyone, just making a point. To play the system Sarri wants to play, you have to be solid defensively. Something CHO needs to work on before I see him starting.

I have defended Alonso against the scapegoat criticisms but I also recognise that his form has dropped off. Emerson has put in a couple of good performances recently and his earlier tendency to lose concentration seems to have been sorted, so good news all round in that we have two more than capable left backs.

I think I would probably drop Kepa tonight.  Otherwise, if i am a fellow player who is a regular first teamer, and i refused to be subbed off, got the weeks' fine, but then was dropped, I'd think "Well hold on, Kepa didn't, so why am i?"
And again if he does start him, it says to players 'dont worry about acting petulant and refusing to be subbed, i'll still start you the following game'

Has to make a point, play Willy.  Even if it does make us a little less strong in goal. Sarri and the club have proven that it was not a 'misunderstanding', it was a player refusing to be subbed. Even when the manager admitted it was tactical, or had a tactical element to it.  So starting Willy does not fuel the fire or create a back story because the truth is now out there.
I honestly think starting Kepa would be wrong.

Am never a fan of Sarri, am a big fan of Conte. But I give Sarri the credit for that performance against City. One thing I have noticed about Sarri is he doesn't know how to hide his emotions. Against City, all of the players were falling back including the front three to help the team defensively which wasn't something we have been doing when playing the usual and predictable Sarriball. It's just my opinion though, but whenever we are not playing the way Sarri wants, you will know simply by observing his reactions or his facial expression on the touchline. But against City he looked calm because he planned it with the players. The fact that he didn't make the usual Barkley for Kovacic sub and bringing CHO on early shows he had a different plan for City. And for me, it was a very good game plan.

The only thing about the situation that looks out of place is if it was a so called misunderstanding why would you get fined. It just makes the explanation look like a lie, which means the fine is more to do with what we all saw.

I'd drop him for Spurs at least. Big big game and he's took the piss and possibly lost us the final.
Money is nothing to these players so it needs to be more. Clearly we can't go overboard but if we're keeping Sarri he must be allowed to show some authority.

We haven't defended well enough with Hazard on the left, yesterday really is our best way to play big teams.
Use Willian on the left to wear down the other team some while keeping a better defensive presence, then sub Higuain on for him, and move Hazard left.  Many didn't like Hazard in the false 9... but that also gave more time to CHO.

I really hope Sarri goes with a similar approach against Spurs. Emerson has to start again. Hopefully RLC and CHO get decent minutes too.

City "absolutely bossed the game". Are you having a laugh? They were definitely the better team in the first half, but they barely laid a glove on us in the second half and extra time and we were the team getting into the more dangerous attacking positions. There was a 15 minute spell in the 2nd half where we had 73% possession and were playing some absolutely lovely football.
Sarri got his tactics spot on yesterday. We're at out most vulnerable in the first 30 minutes so playing more reserved at the start was a good idea and what many fans were asking for. If we don't concede early our passing game generally takes over as our opponents (such as City yesterday) can't sustain their intense pressing game for the full 90 minutes. Especially against a team that keeps possession as well as we do now.
I was really please to see Emerson start and CHO/RLC coming off the bench. All played well. I actually thought we looked great with Hazard, CHO, RLC and Willian all on at the same time. And Kante was an absolute monster yesterday.
Very encouraging signs despite the defeat. Huge game on Wednesday now, we need a big performance and so does Sarri.

I just think we need a middle ground between Sarri-ball and Suffer-ball.
Sarri’s trying possession game is allowing teams to sit deep and compact making them hard to break down, especially in the absence of a top quality striker.
Conte (second season) was too defensive with no freedom for the attacking players.
What I would like to see is a compromise of those two mindsets. The second half yesterday was pretty close.
Yesterday’s performance was evidence to me Sarri’s got the ability to get us playing differently. Hopefully he can use it as a launchpad for a strong end of the season.
    Fingers crossed.

Stats can mean anything. On expected goals it was 1 each.
In my view, our tactics were spot on and if we were more clinical we would have won. I don't think city created anything clear cut enough to warrant winning.

I think we all agree that Sarri could give his strategy a better chance to survive in the long term if he is willing to be more flexible in the short term, and play the counter game against this type of opposition.

No we’re not that bad and those performances are evidence of what many have said. If Sarri can be more adaptable then we’ve got a team capable of better results than we’ve been getting.
A little more pragmatic and a little more direct in our approach play and we might see better results.
It’s when we’re trying to dominate possession we look toothless.
Sometimes less is more and I think yesterday is proof of that.

And it's obvious Sarri was holding out on one last substitution, we could've had a pair of fresh legs on if we had known Kepa would be a prick.
