You’ve missed my point a little. I never said we would stop signing stars, we will as well as players with potential, players to fill a roll, players for experience etc etc. Just not every window and every position every time we sign someone. There needs to be some perspective.
Of course Lampard makes a good point, I totally agree with it, but I also can see an older player being complacent and a younger player being hungrier in another case. But again, we aren’t abandoning signing top players. It’s just not every signing in every window. We also don’t f**k ours up like other clubs seem to and have to buy new stars straight away. Lacazete was highly sort after last summer , do you think they’d still be after PEA if he’d bagged 20 goals by  now?
What happens when we spend 400M in a summer and 2 other teams do as well.  One of them has to finish third then right? What happens when we try and make this right with another 400M the following summer but another 3 clubs do the same and we can’t get everyone on the park. 800M in two summers and nothing.. but we’ve signed the stars? What kind of atmosphere would that create.  Perspective.
Also how many clubs have replaced a bronze statue worthy icon with another one immodestly after? You talk about replacing champions with champions like it’s easy to do. We’ve had two titles since Cole left and JT hardly played last year. Drogba was a cameo three seasons ago. You can only take a hit when you have 5 all time champions move on the space of a few years. That’s not a regressing squad though and we have not done badly at all to keep the leadership and traits they all showed.

Here's how a loan deal makes sense to me.
Firstly, it's fairly apparent that Conte doesn't rate him, so with Morata fit (and sometimes even not), gametime will be limited. If he does turn out to be a regular starter at Dortmund, then it should do him a world of good, and all being well, he'll come back a better player. Just look what a spell in the Bundeslega did for Andreas Christensen.
By the same token, Conte not rating the player takes the pressure off Morata. As long as he's fit/not suspended, he's a pretty much nailed on starter.
Furthermore, loaning Batman frees up a place for Giraud, who has a wealth of Premiership experience, should  make an effective impact sub at the very least, and I dare say, could well put pressure on Morata, who as a further added bonus, might well learn something of playing as a Premiership striker from Giraud.
Having said all that, I'd be very much against selling Batshuayi outright.

There's plenty wrong with having your expectations at a level where you can only tolerate  top 20 players, 3 of them, each window.  Especially considering the best teams win leagues, not the best players.

It's absurd the winging that's going on.  Imagine, IMAGINE, sit there and conjure a thought about the the uproar there would be if we were going after an unknown Spanish right back from Marseille for 9 million pounds right now.  I tell ya what, there would be some quotes for a generation there.

You've more or less proved what I was saying, even though I wasn't directing it at you.

The last two winners of the premier league haven't done so on the back of signing genuine top class players.  Granted Kante is a star, but he wasn't when Leicester signed him and I  think players like Moses and Alonso along with Conte's tactical changes were the hallmark of our title winning season.  The total disregard of coaching meaning anything and this lust for ready made stars to fill up our fantasy team is the point I'm making.  But how many times do big players underperform at new clubs as well? There's not guaranteed solution by investing in them. Yes you can't deny star players are going to be capable of more, but good players can become great players at a club like ours.  What are you complaining about? What's wrong with signing a genuine star every two seasons?

People scream for more depth, so we spend all window trying to sign players that are not going to be picked every week but with great pedigree none the less to sure up our squad YET people complain.

I call BS on the fans seeing the squad regressing.  In what way shape or form is it regressing.  It's the total opposite, we are a younger playing squad with more years in the legs than the one last year or the one before. It's a myth and it's compounded by the fact people think a player with 10 goals, some bad misses and an injury concern is a flop.  If we shipped out every player that didn't hit the ground running we wouldn't have some of the players you'll look back on from yesteryear.
Fail to secure Hazard long term? This is his sixth year at the club. Zola was here for 7.  In a world where supporters like you want to pull genuine stars from other teams (I won't even start on the hypocrisy of that) how many years will be deemed long enough for you?  How many titles?  Do you think he doesn't want to win the CL with us?

You're right about one thing though, I don't think anyone will stop supporting us because I don't think the signings we intend to make or will make represent a sign that we won't compete for trophies anymore.  So we will continue to do so but you'll never stop complaining.

Did Everton not even register him because of his injury? I guess he’ll be pumped then, if he gets off the then bench.

I didn't really see any of his comments about the transfer market and the way Chelsea operate as whinging.

The media keep asking him about it and he keeps answering the same way.  If the club want input they ask him and he gives it.  Seems like a good process to me and he doesn't answer unrelated questions by talking about the transfer market.

    Am I missing something?

I just don't understand posts like this.  Can you outline a basic direction you want to see and what that entails so I can understand a little better.  Also what you hope the outcome of that direction is and how that outcome is by far and a way better than what we are experiencing now and have done for the last 15 years?

Would also help if you used examples of clubs with an appealing direction.

No, you're not. There is every indication it is that simple. He keeps saying the same things, they're just looking for a slip-up and I wouldn't be surprised if repeating the story is a way for them to make it seem like it's an issue he keeps bringing up because he's so frustrated. In reality, they're asking him the questions but we never see the questions written in the articles do we?
I don't buy the narrative that we aren't backing him with signings or that the board have sacked him already and are just waiting for the right time to announce it. If he wasn't getting the players he wanted, granted they may not have all been first choice, then why do we keep signing players from Italy who have very specific qualities about them that Conte seems to be after? Is it the club who want a big target man to play up front?
By the same token, if the club are ready to sack him why would they be spending anything on players this January when a new manager is going to come in and change things around anyway? While I'm sure there are frustrations on both sides and neither is happy with being 3rd or losing to Arsenal, this whole thing is overblown. The media need something to talk about, it's not good for them when the 6 biggest clubs in the country are at a stable point with no managerial controversy, so they make it appear.

A great team does not to have 11 great players, it is the hunger, the psychological strength, the never-say-die attitude etc. that makes the real difference.

Hazard's better than all but Neymar and Messi on that list Imo..
Ronaldo is shi*e these days, Bale is just back from the sidelines and is never fit for more than a month, Cavani and Lewandowski are goal scoring machines (this season) but don't think the've the technical ability of Hazard to put them ahead of him, KdB plays for City, and Suarez bites people. Dybala couldn't lace his boots. Would throw Mbappe in there ahead of Dybala at this stage anyway.
Clearly top 10 is subjective, and there's not much in it between some of them..but sometime you don't appreciate what you have till you've lost it.

Even if you think he's inconsistent or should be taking the next step or whatever, he's such a great character and very down to earth and I think they are underrated characteristics when it comes to gelling with a team.

He's humble but certainly not dismissive of his abilities and what is expected of him.

    A top bloke really.
