WIllians goal he absolutely meant to hit it low, maybe not into the ground to bounce over the keeper, but he shaped to keep it low.

Anyway, I do like the fact that Frank is willing to change personnel and formation midway though the match.  I felt we were starting to lose it in the middle around the time he brought CHO on.  Bringing him on and then changing to a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 was exactly what was needed at the time.  Also, massive kudos to Kepa, absolutely won this for us.
This whole team is still learning, but we just went away and beat a Lille side that has, by all accounts including the French press running up to the game, were heavily favoured.
The type of performance we needed.
Kante isn't fit, and that was obvious, so I think he should be rested next game out against Southampton

Very good night tonight for Frank. Adventurous starting line up and shape. He's definitely not afraid to change things. In the second half good substitutions and clearly they had discussed at half time that when CHO comes on it was time to up the pace and go for it.
Obviously he needs to address the zonal marking debacle which I fully expect him to do. On the match thread he has been criticised for stubborness. What are we - 11 games in or so? Stubborn? Have a word.

Frightfully Happy to get our first CL win this season. However I was not happy overall:

    1) We need to deal with set pieces, something has to change
    2) Our back three made too many errors for the well being of my health
    3) Kante was well below par today, and I am unable to judge Reece James from today's performance, I have high hopes
    4) We need to start with CHO every game, period, no execptions. Like Hazard he changes games. Can't wait to have RLC, CHO and Mount in the same team
Lastly I honestly think our Academy players are worth over $200M, they are all so amazing

    Happy time to have beer...............Cheers

On talksport they said Lille were unbeaten at home since April including a 5-1 win against PSG, so for our Lion Cubs in their first Champions League away game to come away with a win should not be taken for granted. A fantastic result after the Valencia game and now sets us up for a very exciting group! Tammy is the answer to all our prayers, so onwards and upwards! Goodnight and KTBFFH!!!

Ref has allowed things to run a bit tonight. Unusual to see that nowadays especially in Europe. Good to see.

Time to revert to a four . I'd take James off and bring Hudson Odoi on.

beyond that look at some of the linkup play from the academy kids.....it's a tangible factor to consider when players have spent years getting to know how each other play, and thus play better as a unit than even the sum of the individual talents.

Was about to write that word for word with the addition that he is 18 years old. I could not be more excited to watch this young man develop.

He changed the game when he came on tonight. He added that extra spark that was needed in our attacking play. I don't think we would have found the winner had he not come on.

    I watch PSG every week.
Thiago Silva has dead ended his career. He's a big fish in a small pond and he always gets shown up in the big CL games.

And at his age I'd avoid him like the plague. Might as well have kept Cahill if Silva is a possible.

Glad that this saga is behind us and we can focus on him developing into a top player at the club.  5 year deal mean's we'll be back at the table again when he's 22 and I think by then we'll have a really good grasp of where he's at.  I like Callum, I think there is a lot of potential, but I too have been frustrated by him, and I do feel that there's some levels of blue-tinted-youth-glasses when it comes to talking about him.  That said, I think Frank being here is a good thing as he'll play him; other managers, in this situation, would probably continue to reply on experience rather than blood in a young prospect.
I do wonder if the contract is a signal from the club that whomever the manager is, they should be playing CHO (but that's pure conjecture on my part).
I think with the club also announcing recently that they'll not extend Willian's contract, the we are seeing the natural progression of CHO taking his place.  I expect them to interchange a lot in the starting 11s this season.

Very similar to how people thought various different managers could coach David Luiz into being a better defender. With Emre failing now like all the others. If it ain't in the brain, it ain't in the brain.
