So did I. Surely this is just the effort of the designer's kid on Take your child to work Day?

I will third that, immediate impression on looking at it, almost expected to see an eagle instead of a lion on the crest. Do some of the kit designers on a job like this even know other clubs colours? Daft.

Really hope he gets the chance to play a more substantial role in the rest of the season - he's shown professionalism through long spans of no match time, then has done well on return when given the chance - surely got to be in the running more either starting or on the bench to come on in support in more matches ahead, both for taking his chance recently and his all round play.

His fitness is still an issue though, he can't be relied upon. He really faded when it came into the 2nd half, but he's definitely a better alternative to Michy.

He's a proper target man isn't he? Sometimes I forget how useful it can be to have the option of someone so capable in the air to launch an out ball towards. Liked that in the buildup to the second, Azpilicueta just chucked the ball at Giroud's head from the throw-in. Oh, and he won more defensive headers than anyone else in the side. I thought it was telling that the first thing Abraham did when he came on was to lose a header.
Giroud bullied Alderweireld today, both in terms of physical strength, and (embarrassingly enough) for pace as well. Top man management from Frank - rest him for three months at a time so he's physically rejuvenated and hungry for goals. I also really enjoyed his body language for the goal - clearly not expecting Barkley's shot to bounce back to him but immediately reacted to welly the ball into the back of the net, then plaintively looking straight at the ref to see whether it might be inexplicably disallowed.
Really good performance today, made himself our unquestionable second choice.

He’s a top professional. Imagine how Morata would be now if he didn’t get a move he wanted in January.
Really happy for him to snatch the spot back from Bats but it’s ridiculous it has taken this long. He always has been better than Bats.

Yeah it's the lack of commitment from the team overall now that is most disappointing, and the biggest contrast with the teams we had when achieving great things so often in our most successful time as a club.
Just as you say we used to rightly mock Arsenal for their weak mentality so often for years, but now more and more we resemble the worst of them in that respect far too often.
How many of the players tonight can go off the pitch feeling they really gave their all? Where is the determination, the fight, the competitive spirit, the will to win? If the players give a big effort but end up with a draw it's no shame if it's a tough match, but to throw away what should have been a dominating win at home against opposition on the back foot quite early in the game, and instead to take our foot off the peddle instead and look lacklustre and uninterested enough to let them back into it twice and take away a point in those circumstances, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
It's the determined spirit we still occasionally show that is draining away too much for big stretches of the match in too many games this season, the team fades and often seems lacking in strength to break through and create and take chances to secure victory, and then the opposition takes an opportunity we inevitably give them and it's 1 or 0 points for us at full time again, so often its not even getting surprising anymore, and other teams can sense that weakness now and feel they have a chance to get at us.
Whatever it is the team could do with a kick in the arse to try and get some proper spirit and determination, some big characters with leadership on the pitch like we used to have, or some players to have the will to change their mindset and develop into those sort of big characters that seem missing too much currently.

Very true, but it's a taking candy away from a baby situation. Just like it was today, 1-0 with a red card for Arsenal in the first 20 minutes, lovely jubbly, and it all goes to sh*te. We were flying this season in top 4, rumours of Sancho interested, Lampard playing with style, and it's going down the sh*t pan.

After this performance, I no longer have confidence we are getting top 4, there's no character in this team and I know for a fact we'll be playing with the same predictable team against Leicester next.

Perspective is important I agree, but it definitely hurts more when you're in the driving seat and you have to watch us tip the car upside down before the finishing line.

Just saw Frank's post game talk. He says he was happy with the team dilly-dallying until half time. WTF? And then we are surprised why the players are chilled out on the verge of not giving a f**k.
    Killer instinct my arse.

It makes me so annoyed. It's like we have thrown away everything that made us so successful for so long and turned ourselves into any Arsenal team from the past 15 years. There are too many players more concerned about fancy flicks and pointless risky passing from our own penalty area. There is nobody willing to do the hard work, get a kick from winning a 50/50, over power the opposition with strength, throw your body on the line for the win. I cringe every time I see our players shy away from a 50/50, you would never see that a few years ago, Christensen did it today when he got booked, it's cowardly. I also get furious when I see us strolling around and passing around our own penalty area in the last 5 or 10 minutes when we should be trying to force the win. Show some f**king urgency and commitment and get the ball up the field.
This club has forgotten what it was that made us so good for so long.

It is our long-standing mantra "It is a wake up call".  Bollox to it. Our alarm clock has been silent for too many years now.
And no, I do not want us to go and buy silly as a knee-jerk reaction.
And I do not mind losing or drawing with youngsters, providing everybody gives their best on the pitch, and providing the manager does his work.

This is spot on. Agree with every point, its pretty much everything I have been shouting at the TV all night.  11 goals conceded in the last 15 minutes of games means two things. Physically not fit enough and mentally too weak.
The only thing Scott doesn't say here that I would have said , possibly because it is an unpalatable truth to face up to, but if we continually fail to overcome any team that defends against us and look so bereft of ideas then at some point questions must be asked of the coaching ability I this club.

100 per cent, to think the sort of defensive reputation Chelsea used to have, now we seem to always give opposition teams opportunities almost every game we seem susceptible.

    It's 10 men...

Remember when we played against this lot with 10 men under Jose? We smashed them 6-0, they've been playing with 10 men for over an hour, it's pitiful to play like this.

Where was our killer instinct when we were 1-0 up against 10 men? We played our best football before Luiz got sent off, i'm just astonished.

The lads need to douse their bollocks in pepper spray to make them get a bit bigger for these games. In fact a kick in the balls for everyone on the team is merited after that

Not a single decent attempted challenge made. It's pathetic. How the f**k have we gone from the likes of Terry, Ivanovic and Cahill to this? Those three would never have let Arsenal have tons of chances to score.

I couldn't believe it when you saw the replay when we managed to get on the counter and only CHO and Tammy were running up field, everyone else was jogging like they couldn't give a f**k. What's going on?? Embarrassing man, hope Lampard gives them a clip.

Infuriates me when you see your own players not busting a gut to try get another goal. That break was an epitomy of it. 2/3’s of the team in our own half jogging up the pitch when Willian got the ball. Would like another so I can slightly relax 😩
