    I'm well happy with that.
People saying we could have got more, but had we opened up and gone for it more we could have got punished.
These are top players we are up against, Hence the high press we played to force the likes of Modrich and Kroos to go sideways.
TT had a game plan and it worked perfectly, we'd have all taken that before Kick off, need to finish the job now.

Great team performance, played some lovely stuff and managed the game well when Palace pulled a goal back.
Man of the Match has to be Mount, involved in everything, work rate is incredible, just keeps on improving. I was'nt convinced 18 months ago but his improvement in that time has been immeasurable.

Great result considering the performance....guess we can't have both these days.  Hopefully we can take 3 points on Sat with a 2nd XI and put in 2 stellar performances next week against Porto and City.

Oxford United, as its my home town.
I get a lot of stick from mates who follow Oxford, saying i should support my home town club and i do have a strong affinity for them but ive always been Chelsea, its in my heart.

I think his ego gets in the way Mod Stark, and that has been the main reason for failure in recent years. He's still a clever coach if he can just get back to doing what he does best.
With regards to money, has'nt he got enough with all his sacking pay offs? Perhaps the thrill of World glory may refocus him to his former glory days. But i have been wrong before 😀

I have always wanted an English man in the job, having said that I always thought that Wenger would have made a good England manager so rubbished my own argument !
I think Jose has said quite a few times he wants to manage Portugal when his club career has finished,I reckon his wage demands might be a bit high to persuade him to manage England

At first, I thought no way, but thinking about it, it could suit him. He’s scattered his seed enough now around English clubs to get mutual fan backing (well, to an extent).
The thing is, I don’t think he would. He likes the drama of the Premiership, the weekly mind games and I doubt he would want the duller management job. He wouldn’t be in the limelight as much as he craves. Not to mention, the money....I can’t see him getting close to the big deals he gets.
Above all that, from an English standpoint, he’s just not a very good manager anymore. He might possibly shine again at international level, but since that second season with us, he’s completely hit and miss wherever he goes. Poor man management let’s him down.

Nice idea in principle and he was one of the favourites for the England job a few years back.
Not sure you'd want to see a defensive minded coach in charge of a group of players whose biggest assets are their attacking players. It's probably the worst selection of England centre backs in my time following football.
I don't particularly care for the national side personally and haven't watched any international games since the last world cup so they can give the job back to Big Sam for all I care.

Desperate Performance, So many Poor individual Performances Chiefly from Mount, CHO, Kovacic, Giroud etc, etc
Not quite sure how Pulisic was awarded Man of the Match. I would be interested to see Mount's pass completion percentage, less than 20% i would say, Dreadful.

Osgoodwasgood got a reaction from Jezz in Why are we having trouble scoring?
I think you have almost answered your own question Abramovic. I find it so frustrating, we do with ease what most clubs struggle to do, play our way through the middle of the pitch to the opponents area.
Then our problems begin, often the final ball is poor, or the decision making is poor. None of our wingbacks/Fullbacks can cross the ball for toffee.
None of our offensive players with the exception of mount, can get a shot away, or better still get it on target. It mystifies me because the teams we play have far fewer opportunities than what we create, but the few opportunities they have they seem to hit the target.
In Werner's case, he has'nt become a poor striker overnight, yes some of his finishing has been poor but he's also been a bit unlucky, he cant buy a goal at present, a similar trend seems to be starting with Havertz, but im not particularly worried about either, i think both will come good.
What i am concerned about is our wastefullness when our good build up play has got us in great areas, we need to work on this in training because it has'nt just been the last few weeks its been prevalent all season.

I don't think there's a structured approach to how we expect to score goals.
The ball gets to the final third and seems like we're making it up on the fly.
Someone plays a through ball but the intended target doesn't make a run.
We get the ball into a central area and all the players in front are peeling off into wide positions.
We put in a cross and there's only one player in the box, the others are loitering on the edge of the area.
We see these things happening time and time again, each and every game.
There's been an element of good fortune to the few goals we are scoring in open play. Giroud's winner against Atletico was a great finish but took for their defender to play him onside via a hoofed attempt at a clearance. The opener against Everton was an own goal via a shot from Havertz that looked like it was going wide.
Mount's solo effort against Liverpool was the last well worked goak in open play.
If not for penalties are league position/points tally would likely be much closer to Spurs and Liverpool.

    I agree 100% Longtime
I have long been an admirer of players in his mould, stretching back to Tony Currie, Hoddle, Brady even Fillery, players easy on the eye.
You can see that Ziyech has the ability, but I feel he needs to quicken up, he has’nt got the the time that he currently wants, especially with the current high press favoured by many teams.
I agree his first touch needs to improve but also his awareness, he seems too slow to pick the pass he wants and the time he was probably afforded in the Dutch league just isn’t there in the premiership.
Ive not given up but I’m worried he hasn’t got the desire or attitude to work on his deficiencies, I’d love to be proved wrong though.

Really wanted this transfer to work out. I thought he would be our playmaker something we have lacked since Cesc and Eden have left. I'm still holding out hope he can adjust either by the end of the season or start of the next. But, I wont lie I see a lot of the issues people bring up about him and they are concerning.
He doesn't seem to have the best 1st touch which doesn't help in such a press heavy league. His style is probably more suited to a different league. If he can work on his first touch and become a little stronger on the ball there is hope yet.
Also in regards to his attitude it might just be me but I think he's probably more annoyed at himself than anything else when people think he's being stroppy. No one wants to come to England and be regarded as a flop and I'm sure he can see where things are going.
As it stands he's the most expendable of the attacking players due to age. I wonder if he can show the top mentality that not only can he compete but thrive in the hardest league in the world.
