Ken Shellito was an outstanding player whose career was cruelly cut short by injury. With Eddie McCreadie they were arguably the best full-back pairing of their time ... Eddie was, of course, a complete nutter whereas Ken was a cultured full-back who could really defend but also break forward when the occasion demanded. I think he only won one England cap but the general consensus at the time, and not just among CFC supporters, was that he would have played right-back for England in the 66 WC  in preference to George Cohen ... he really was that good! RIP Ken ...

I think this whole motivation/revenge is a fan thing as I can’t believe this bunch of players are motivated in any way by thoughts of ‘revenge’ even those who played in the game ... sorry ...
more worrying are reports in today’s paper that we are thinking of signing Higuain and Kovachik permanently! Please tell me that’s not possible....

For some of us 'bulbs' the 'light' when on earlier rather than the 30 watt crowd who joined in today (tongue in cheek)....I don't believe there is one person on this forum who wants to see us lose; what we are seeing is a stubborn old git of a manager who it seems is lost in this league, and while I could forgive him now and then after the first few losses, because its new to him, I like many others would expect a good manager to change his tactics and team selection when players are out of form, or in the case of the 'golden boy', out of his depth.  But no, his stubborn attitude and lack of understanding of how this league works highlights his incompetence to manage this team in this league.  Not necessarily all his fault of being thrown in at the deep end by the Board, but other managers new to this league with inferior squads have worked it out, whereas Sarri clearly hasn't.  I for one will be glad to see the back of him, for his sake before it gets more embarrassing and for the sake of the club....if it hasn't already.

I had a lightbulb moment during this game, and I don’t mean turning off the light and sitting in a darkened room as soon as I saw that Jorginho and Kovachik were playing .... again! No, it occurred when Azpi received the ball for the umpteenth time in a dangerous position with loads of space and time in their half, and I realised that’s exactly what our opponents want as they know nothing is going to happen! He either crosses into the box where we have one ineffectual striker waiting for it, or he recycles across the box to the left side where it happens again until ... nothing happens! Not his fault, but there has to be an alternative way of mounting an attack against a block defence ... I suppose better players might be the answer ... I think we may already have them but they can’t get into this side!!!

Everyone on this forum knew for sure that he was going to bring on Willian for Pedro, and then Ross for Kova ... so far so bad ... but I think he signed his death warrant with the fans by bringing on a FB for an FB when we needed to do SOMETHING!

Just got home after a thoroughly miserable afternoon at the Emirates .... what can be worse than sitting with a bunch of celebrating Gooners when you know you’re never going to score even if we were still playing! I lost count of the times I turned to my mate when we were on the “attack” (duh!) and said “he doesn’t have a clue what to do with it” when any one of our players was on the ball!
Alonso? Give me a break ... clueless, useless and anything else ending in “less”! Jorghino ... might have been good in Italy, and may even come good here, but right now he should not be in the team ... simples! Pedrillian? Two identically useless players except one smiles and one snarls! Kovachic? What’s that all about?
The only positive from today will hopefully be that Sarri has to realise that this team is no good and cannot score goals. How do we win on Thursday if we can’t score? I can’t see Higuan making that much difference but we fans always live in hope ...

Agree with most of what has been said here. Desperately need a striker and a better alternative to Pedro/Willian/Moses. Regrettably Barkley is turning into this year’s Babayoko! Kovacik starting to look really good and Rudiger/ Luiz may turn out to be the real deal? At the beginning of the week I’d have settled for one win and one draw against the Scousers! Altogether a good performance with a lot to be excited about, I think.
