  1. Fit enough to travel and play is still a very different scenario to 100% fit, just because he is the USA's best player doesnt mean he is at full tilt with match fitness, so lets assume, as he is training, he is able to play but at 70-80% fitness, he then comes back at 40% fitness puts his full recovery back by another 2 months would you still say he is being punished by TT? Look at the situation that Torres had back at Liverpool constantly played by RB as he was their best and only striker, never had the chance to get back to 100% fitness and was basically crocked for the rest of his career at 27.
  2. I dont think it was the way of the past, I think with many of the players that we let go that are now stars, the player themselves werent happy to play a bit part and wanted more first team action, you look at the players these young guys expected to get game time ahead of, in Luckys case it was Drogs, he could have stayed around and learnt from him but wanted off, its more a case of Chels dont want to have unhappy players at the club and if the right offer comes in then they are free to go.
  3. We have quite a few players who can step into that holding/ defensive mid role though RJ and AC being just 2 off the top of my head, you can then add in CHO, MM, dropping a bit deeper etc.. plenty of short term cover
  4. Harsh to put Begovic in there, and I must admit I really wanted Pato to do well
  5. the body check on KDB was world class I dont think anyone could take that away from him.
  6. Its just a scottish thing and a term of affection a friendly word for small... used in Scotland for years and in many different cases i.e I will just have a wee dram
  7. Not sure I agree about needing to rest players, there are only a few games left in the season and assuming we keep winning then most players like to continue obviously if someone is hanging out of their arse then fair enough but to do a mass rotate just for the sake of it isnt needed
  8. I would guess that because its taken out 500 normal seats but I dont think there is actual approval to use the semi standing areas as yet (they are just getting it ready) as its still currently under discussion, then once safe standing is approved the capacity will go back up
  9. May just be my opinion but I dont think he was ever clumsy in touch or passing, he just looks like he is. I know its an odd hair to split but he does have an ungainly way of kicking the ball in that he doesnt stroke it around but that belies the actual kick itself
  10. Isnt it normally more a case of him falling out the the powers that be though rather than the results on the pitch or the players? That seemed to be the pattern I read?
  11. Isnt it about now someone has to point out when the REAL test will happen and that he hasnt beaten a top 6 team as yet
  12. Ah that really f**ks me off, cant believe he gets away with it. Back into defender as they are jumping creating a potentially dangerous landing for them while flopping to the ground and screaming in pain.
  13. Hang on you seem to have missed Man U from that list 😁
  14. As much as it pains me to say it I think Neville is pretty good and balanced in his commentary, Jenas when we have played Spurs is always a Tit though
  15. or recording live TV.... I have never understood this "Hill to die on Lefty Tax hate the BBC never Watch it bollocks" for starters it works out at about 40p a day. Is still regarded as the one of the best broadcasters in the world, provides Radio stations nationally and internationally,
  16. I would suggest the difference is the way the managers have dealt with it, one went about his business and didnt often mention the injuries or any other circumstances and the other has whined to the media whenever possible
  17. As is and always has been the case for any player (on the bench/ injured/ not getting game time) and always will be
  18. My take on that would be that it seemed that AVB didnt communicate effectively to the player why they werent in the team just shut them out, just my impression of course, I always felt AVB was tasked with getting the age of the squad down and thought that meant freezing out players without informing them
  19. I would say that all players out on loan actually fall in to all sections, or more accurately your option 2 is the cover all
  20. especially the amount of time they then replayed the one on Rashford desperately trying to find a way of giving it
  21. In that case think of him as a box to box destroyer, he hunts the ball breaks up play and then passes to someone with a greater skillset
  22. The problem is that teams set up differently against us than they do against a team like Villa, so while playing for Villa they will keep an eye on him and Grealish for example they wont and dont have the same 10 men behind the ball, this is why when RB plays for a smaller team he gets the space to run into and shoot, that wouldnt be there in most game we play
  23. I would also suggest that part of the reason we ran riot in the second half is the fact that we had so much possession and were constantly probing at their defense that they started to get leggy and we remained comparatively fresh, so once the breakthrough happened they had nothing to lift their game with, look at a lot of "possession" teams they often have these sort of results due to shear weight of pressure
