  1. I blame Kenyon for Emenalo.
  2. On his day he's an absolute beast of a striker, but he clearly doesn't want to be at Chelsea, so the sooner he leaves and opens up a place for someone who does want to play for the club, the better.
  3. A high horse has been mounted... http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-british-transport-police-10569276 Besides, I think Desailly has said it that he knows Terry and doesn't think JT's a racist. I don't see a reason why Desailly would say so if it wasn't his honest opinion. Terry took his place in the squad, so it seems he has respect for Terry after all these years. --- Not relevant to Terry, but Imagine if Chelsea had done this? http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/aston_villa/83064/retro-snapshot-darkie-aston-villas-casually-racist-1950s-mascot.html
  4. Sometimes clubs are able to keep it from the media. Not often, but it happens. If my totally made up scenario somehow turned out to be true, then I don't see a reason why the deal would necessarily leak into the press right now. I mean, if were a pre-contract type of deal negotations tied in with the sale of Costa, then I don't see why they would necessarily need to go public about it just now. Griezmann has said that he can't leave now because the club couldn't buy a replacement due to the transfer ban, so he's going to play at Atletico for the next season, but I think he will leave next summer. IF Conte wanted Griezmann (none of us know for sure either way) then I think the club should at least bring it up while negotiating the Costa transfer.
  5. Loser talk... I don't have fantasies about football players. Seriously, though... I don't think it's all that far fetched. It might not look like the most probable deal, but it wouldn't be the first time that a surprising football transfer has happened. It's silly season, so I don't see why people can't speculate on different scenarios. I'm sure Conte could find a way. I mean, who would've thought that there was a place for Moses in our starting eleven? I'm not saying Griezmann should be played as a wing back, mind you, but I don't think it would be such a lost cause as you seem to think.
  6. Sell Diego now for a lower price as a "sweetener" to pave way for a deal with Griezmann next summer.
  7. Maybe he's worried that the value of rouble will go down.
  8. I've never been to Glastonbury, but I saw Chic at a local festival a few years ago. It was a solid gig with loads of hits, but I found it odd that Nile Rodgers felt the need to spend half the gig lecturing the audience on how he "invented pop music". I know he's done so much, but that's exactly why I found it odd that he did it. It was almost like he was afraid that the festival crowd would write them off as some cover band if he didn't constantly remind us that he'd been involved in writing/recording/producing all those hits. An elder statesman like him shouldn't have to do it, that's all. DJ Shadow was at this local city festival a few weeks ago and even my mate who's been a fan since the '90s thought it was boring.
  9. Even if it were true, it shouldn't be a problem because we've already sold several players since January.
  10. I'm sure it's more like we CAN'T reveal the new signings in Adidas kit. I wouldn't be surprised if Nike insisted that we do it that way. Besides, Conte is on holiday, so it's no wonder he's not being very active on the football front.
  11. If we'll see a significant number of 60+ million transfers this summer, then I'm willing to hold up my hand and admit that I'm wrong, but as it stands I don't think it will be the case. Clubs and agents have always slapped over the top price tags on players, so this is nothing new. There will be exceptions of course, but I reckon majority of the transfer fees of major signings to and from big European clubs will be between 30-60 million.
  12. Yes, the prices are crazy, but even in the current market 55 million is NOT cheap. That would mean clubs regularly paid 60-100 million for players. That just doesn't happen outside of China.
  13. Nah, I'd give it a pass and save some dignity...
  14. It's a step down from Begovic, but since we need a back up for Courtois, I guess we could do worse.
  15. Obviously I have no proof of anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if all of this just engineered by Costa to finally get his coveted move out of Chelsea. It seems he's been desperate to get it for at least a year now.
  16. Costa admitted that he went all out trying to engineer a move out of Chelsea just before the beginning of previous season. He didn't want to be at the club, but Conte convinced him to stay. Then there was the situation in January when his head wasn't right for one reason or another (China or whatever) and he has the nerve to talk about being a victim here. I seriously doubt Conte would try to solve it like that with a text message.
  17. I know it's silly, but I've watched the final (or at least the decisive moments) countless times and I still feel a little anxious during the penalty shoot out. It makes no sense...
  18. I'm sure he wanted to take a closer look at all the players that were available to him. Especially a player he had been keen on signing while he was in Italy. He did bring back Moses and kept him. That turned out pretty well, didn't it?
  19. I'm assuming it's about the drunk driving incident.
  20. I went to see Alien - The Director's Cut last week at the local cinema, because I'd only seen the first Alien movie on VHS and I'd never seen the Director's Cut, so I figured I'd go revisit what was probably the scariest movie of my childhood and experience it on the big screen. Obviously it wasn't nowhere near as scary as it was when I watched it about 30 years ago, but it does hold up VERY well after all these years. It's been over 20 years since I've seen the third movie and I just want to know if it's as bad as everyone says it is. Because I remember it as a proper ending to the saga. I mean, the fourth one was just a big F.U. to the fans and Prometheus was a perfect example of how you mess up a perfectly good sci-fi series by adding completely needless "mythology" to make it seem more "epic". Ok, the reimagined Battlestar Galactica went a little further with that concept, but Prometheus was still a mighty fine trainwreck of trying to bring a little "2001: A Space Odyssey" in to the series, but making it something more like "Leprechaun in Space"...
  21. T.V. Smith has to be the most underrated English singer songwriter alive today.
  22. They have kits for Kante, so why not...
  23. Like when he blasted Joe Cole for lack of effort or told Carvalho to get his head checked?
