  1. Went to see Tyondai Braxton last night and bought an early bird ticket for a local summer festival the other day. Only a part of the lineup has been announced, but Dinosaur Jr. was enough for me. It's been a good party the last two years, so I'm sure there will be more interesting acts added to the lineup.
  2. I've been listening to old Dinosaur Jr. all day today. I got a ticket to see them next summer...
  3. I'm not doubting you, but when did he say that and where(source)?
  4. The window is still open, so a lot can still happen, but I hope we won't buy just for the sake of it. Size of the squad is 24 players, so we should be fine if we don't get too many key players injured. I'd rather see us splash that "70 odd million" on someone like Griezmann in the summer than on the likes of Dembele right now.
  5. Take away the merit from the statement and it's a bit rubbish, isn't it?
  6. Listening to his press conferences this season, it often sounds like he's been doing just that.
  7. Went to see Arrival the other night. Much better than Independence Day. Wait, what?
  8. Our best back four while Gallas was at the club was Ferreira, Carvalho, Terry and Gallas. And that's not just a matter of opinion as the stats back it up as well.
  9. Not sure what will be the next band, but I went to see my mate's band on Friday. They're good if you're into a bit of gloomy post punk:
  10. You could say the same about English players as well. That one doesn't apply to England, though.
  11. Oh dear... OH! MY! DEAR! LORD! I thought I'd pop by the ol' forum to see what the mood is, but holy crap on a stick! It's... It's... It's The Monty Python's Flying Circus, to be honest.
  12. Just got a ticket for tomorrow night's Mirel Wagner gig at Ateneum (museum of Finnish national gallery). I've seen her before, but the venue will make it very interesting.
  13. Went to see this one: One of the weakest movies I've seen from the Coens. It's not as bad as The Ladykillers, though. That one is in "a class" of its own. There were some funny moments, but it was quite uneven and the characters weren't very interesting. I would've thought John Goodman would've been perfect for this movie and yet he's nowhere to be seen. I had heard that it wasn't one of their better ones, so I didn't have great expectations, but it was still a bit of a disappointment.
  14. Been playing Room Three lately on my phone. I really liked the first two and this one is good and I guess you have to appreciate that they wanted to expand the concept, but the difficulty level of the puzzles is either very easy or ridiculously difficult. And the difficulty sometimes comes from some important detail being very difficult to spot. The playing area is so much larger in the third one so if doing something triggers something somewhere else, you probably won't be notified of it and have to stumble upon it by going through every little nook and cranny over and over again and sometimes it's still not obvious what are items that you can pick up or use. There haven't been too many of those, but some of them have just made me shake my head when I finally find the thing that I needed to do to progress. It's still a pretty decent game, but I haven't played it through yet and the previous two were for me the kind of games that I just binge played through almost as quickly as I could. I've had the new one for about a week now.
  15. I'm usually against re-makes because often they are pointless and inferior to the original, but I think this movie begs to be re-made with 360 degree camera technology, so you could watch the movie on a VR headset and be "floating in the sea" with the movie characters. And if you really wanted to take it to the next level, you could sit in a jacuzzi while you watch it.
  16. I've read only one review (before this one) and it was very negative. Basically the reviewer said it looked good, but lacked heart (or something along those lines).
  17. Because the manager is the one who picks the captain?
  18. I agree. It could easily have been done as a live action movie, but the tone would've been different. Yes, it's not easy to pull off something like that and have the audience buy into the concept as well as they did with this one. Well, at least it worked really well for me.
  19. He shouldn't have to share anything with Gerrard. If he needs two starts to overtake him, he can do it. There's five matches left this season and we've got nothing to play for.
  20. I've heard of it, but I haven't seen it. Is it any good?
  21. Usually it's a sign that you're watching an art movie... The last time I remember that happening was when I went to see one of those archive screenings of Tarkovsky's "Stalker". --- I finally went to see Anomalisa: https://youtu.be/DT6QJaS2a-U It was a weird one. Well, probably not as weird as you'd expect from Kaufman, but the stop-motion animation probably made it a lot less awkward than it might've been if it had been a normal live action movie. I do wonder what it would've been like if it had been a live action movie. If nothing else, the rating probably would've been higher than 12.
  22. Just finished watching The Jam documentary "About the Young Idea". It's alright, but I doubt it's very interesting for those who aren't fans of The Jam. Now I'm watching a concert movie of The Jam performing somewhere in Germany in 1980.
  23. I went to see this the other day: It's a solid movie. Not spectacular, but a very well made movie.
