A big issue will be these co-sporting directors because the majority of recruitment and recommendation comes from them which now seems like a complete disaster. Someone’s head needs to be on the block and am sure they won’t be putting themselves forward.
We will be used in business school in the future as a case study on how not to run a business.

Poch has assured us fans to trust him that we will be challenging at the upper level again (let's say in the next 3 years) and that he is not crazy by saying that.
Do we believe him? I think he's a good manager but I don't think the players we have are good enough.

You're saying that like it's the default alternative, who is this someone decent exactly? There's a high chance it gets much worse if we replace him then that less humiliation that you're seeking becomes even worse.
A bloke who's won an U21 tournament is not equivalent to a PL job, hiring someone like that would make us even more of a laughing stock, and we've got no chance of punting Emery, why on earth would he want to come here?

I think every single manager who comes here is going to have a very rough patch at Chelsea, but the fans won't give that manager the patience to ride it out.

Hi mate, i think it is rare that I disagree with your posts, as i think many of the reasoned arguments you make do, generally, make a lot of sense. But i confess i am struggling here and must disagree with some the comments.
The questionable underlying economic strategy of the club and whether this effectively sets up all managers to fail, is a valid question for discussion but probably should be held back for another post.
With regards our positive games, these have only come against teams that attack us and play an expansive game. Even in these situations there have been very few successful final winning results. Even Spurs was more about their implosion and our complete confusion as to how to overcome a team that stood on the half way line.
For me a number of the players are over priced and over hyped but could probably have flourished amongst some seasoned professionals but that is not the route that we went.
However, whilst i still think that Poch should retain his job, this is more because of the fact it makes us even more of a laughing stock by ditching another manager. Personally i cannot see a single shred of a system, or a pattern or style to our play. If we take Arteta's team that he put together, these were often made to look fragile and were beaten easily in a number of matches. But they had a pattern and a style that they stuck to and they developed, incrementally into a cohesive unit. Emery's Villa were mocked at the beginning because of their dangerously high line. But they're all bloody fit and work so hard for each other, so it works. We are in December and i am still not sure we even have an identity or style that we can say we are workign towards.
I understood that Poch's main attributes were his organisational skills based around a strong fitness ethic. I am struggling to see any organisation or any real signs of a team spirit forming, more a collection of individuals haphazardly doing their own things without any real structure.
I think the below posted today is generally pretty good and to me does illustrate the lack of system.

We really have wasted such a terrible amount of money on below average players. We lack muscle and grit and our finishing is absolutely embarrassing.
Utterly depressing that Sterling is our brightest and only half decent looking player.
Not convinced Poch will get us fighting fit. Not sure who can to be honest.
    What a waste of money.

Reason for optimism - we HAVE to score a goal again at some point and I can't wait for that ball to hit the back of the net. Maybe our goals will be like buses and we'll get one followed by loads!
I think part of the trouble is, I've heard it said that "the guys score loads in training". But of course, in training they are scoring against Kepa and Mendy but when it comes to matchday, they have to do it against proper keepers.
Anyway, spring is here and the season will soon be over - thank f**k.

I am quietly optimistic about Tuesday, I mean my mum could probably out  pace Virgil (wasn’t he in the Thunderbirds?) at the moment, but let’s keep it to ourselves,  just in case it goes badly wrong  and kakpooh  has a good one 😂

Im not as doom and gloom as everyone here and of course this is an awful season. I really do think the owners mean well but some of the decisions they have made will be an experience for them and they are certaintly learning on the job. They should have never have sacked Tuchel without a top replacement and they should have never have signed so many players without selling.
We have a squad that consists of world cup winners and champions league winners, they dont just turn sh*t overnight. As a club we should know by now that a top manager can change everything. Tuchel, Conte, Mourinho and Carlo have all come in and won things straight away. While we were going through the hiring and firing success under Roman there was still a feeling we wanted a project manager during that time. Potter comes in as that guy but the issue is he doesn't have the pedigree as a top coach. I have no doubt that he will come back into a premier league job and do well at a smaller club. That was the owners first mistake and I think they bought into the media love in for Potter. He was meant to be the next english manager, we did not have anyone consulting the owners making these decisions at the time of his appointment and now we do. His hiring did not help with the amount of players we signed. Noni for example, nothing to do with him but he's such a pointless signing when you sign Sterling and Mudryk the same year while having Pulisic and Ziyech still on your books.
When it comes Lampard it's another romantic appointment but I posted when it happened and this was the situation I was dreading. He's simply not good enough because tactically he's not on the level required for us or any premier league club and the modern footballer needs more than fight and play for the badge mentality to do well.
Utd were dreadful for years and now they have a capable man in charge and you dont hear about that narrative anymore about how the players are not fit to wear the shirt. The difference is between now and 10 years ago is that players need to be coached and gone are the days of big personalities. They are a very rare breed, take Ollie Watkins for example. Do I think he's a top player? Probably not but Emery is getting the best out of his talent. We have a talented squad but we need a big manager to utilize it the right way.
The season has gone and we need to pick up a win or two to stop the embarrassment of flirting closely to relegation. Get in a big manager and striker and sell the likes of Ziyech, Pulisic, RLC and co then mood will change.
I don't want a manager to moan about the basics anymore, it's such a cop out answer for bad performances. We lost because we could not deal with the press from a well coached team. It's not about basics it's about setting the team up better so we have the ability to deal with the press. Lamps should have learned from Tuchel when he came in and made us strong defensivley. He made a huge mistake trying to impose his football day one against Wolves.

Tell the board these are the 23-24 players I want. Get rid of the rest. Get me a striker who can score goals. And don't expect me to respond to your messages at 3 in the morning to explain my formation or ideas on pressing from the front.

Edit: forgot about Coocoo and Ziyech — been trying to do that for a while now. It was successful and I let them back into my head. Now I’m sad bc I’m thinking about how sh*t they both are
