bjd got a reaction from nominator in Our New Stadium
Arsenal receive around £30 million a year from Emirates, though that includes shirt sponsorship so it's hard to know the actual breakdown. Suffice to say any figure for naming rights for our stadium will be huge, and a route I'm sure the club will take.

No issue with selling the naming rights. As fans we'll still colloquially refer to it as 'The Bridge' and there's too much money there to be made. Ideally our home would always be called Stamford Bridge but unfortunately money takes precedence over romance in Football these days.

It's not that he doesn't have a great record of playing youth , it's more like he doesn't have a record of playing youth!
What happened today is Joses way of saying 'I want Tiago'.
Let's see what happens, I'd be thrilled to be proved wrong.

Exactly. The excuses are already coming.

Mourinho will never trust our academy players for the long term

Ok that's 3 - but in 12 years at 4 clubs. And how many of them were the clubs own youth products?
Like everyone else I hope this is Jose's way of making sure he doesn't go the same way as Josh. But you can't avoid the facts, he simply doesn't play youth.
I'd be stunned if RLC is anything other than a Carling Cup player next year, and I simply base that on everything we have ever seen from Mourinho! I would love to be proved wrong, but I don't see it. Fingers crossed.

I think he's out for the season.

Remy gets his chance and he deserves it.

Remy is a goalscorer but there is nothing else to his game.

Costa is superior in every way so it's a loss but we'll just have to make do.

Luckily there are no international tournaments this summer other than the Copa America.

Costa gets a rest and hopefully puts his hamstring problem to bed.

It's been a niggle all season and I still don't think we're seeing him at full throttle.

Again, rehashing old arguments is pointless but I thought it showed a tremendous lack of faith in a man who had done so much for this club and I say that as a CPO shareholder with family who also have them. When you look at where we were under Bates, it's arguable that Roman saved us from going down the same route as Leeds yet people didn't trust him.

Yes the board went about it the wrong way but how much long-term damage has been done to this club? Hopefully not much because there may be a way to stay at the current site but who will pay for that? Oh right, Roman.

It's hard to understate what the CPO did to save this club in the dark days, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't acknowledge they might not be perfect and may not be subject to the same things any organisation develops over time - personal agendas and infighting.

If you think Torres 'tried', then you clearly haven't watched the number of games where he was anonymous, hardly ran, hid in the penalty area and did a petulant arm gesture whenever a defender outmuscled him to get to the ball and he lost possession for the umpteenth time...yes he won a corner kick that led to our equaliser in the cl final, but think mata and drogba deserve all the credit for that...yes, he had the odd flash...I don't hate the bloke, I just don't respect him...it always felt someone else's fault with him, whether it was the media having a go at him or chelsea not suiting his style, when in fact he just wasn't good or working hard enough...the odd game he stepped up showed he still had something, but fact it was seen so rarely exposes a weak mindset..
The club and roman do deserve their share of the blame for buying him and not learning lessons from Sheva - paying over the odds for a forward in obvious decline...but Torres had remarkable backing from us fans and I don't think he did enough in return

That pretty much sums it up and is all that needs to be said.
I'll wish him the best of luck in Milan (who need their heads checking) but it's good to have the dark cloud lifted. It stopped being a tragedy sometime ago and ended up being a farce.

That was an awful miss from him last night, but as Chelsea fans we have see it all before.
What makes it all the more tragic was that it was utterley unsurprising.
Honestly, Llorente and that Man city striker sitting at home must've weeped when they saw that, and I don't blame them one bit.

Ditto Mark Hughes. So he's had a few spats with a couple of our players in previous games. Big deal lets not get precious, it's not like we are signing Dean Saunders. I like his spirit. He seems a sensible guy and he won't hold grudges and nor should we.
    Hope it happens.

It was all a bit of a witchunt, but ultimately they were sexist and lurid and basically acted like it was 1979.

Personally i think they should've been gone a long time before for their general air of untouchable smugness, SKY is certainly a better place without either of them now.

For me this is what it comes down to.

£30 million. Yes i know he does a handy job and i know he works for the team but its just not unreasonable for us to have expected a little more for £30 million. We'd have the same amount of energy and running if we had signed Lee Cattermole.

I think he is decent enough (i gave him my mom last night)  but he cost £30 million. Just a little under what we paid for Hazard and more than we played for Mata and Oscar. Suarez cost less. As did Silva at City. Obviously its a little unfair to compare him to other transfers at other clubs for that type of outlay there should be more end product and id even allow for a settling in period when saying that too. Its genuinely not unfair to compare Moses contribution last season compared to Willians when your look at the prices paid.

We'll see if he improves next season, he's done enough to be considered a worthy member of the squad but I cant help but feeling we have overpaid and the money wouldve been far better spent elsewhere.

Already said somewhere else this morning that we have 4 current Brazilian internationals on our books that cost approx £100 million. We simply are not seeing that outlay repaid at the moment.

My dog runs around a lot too, and he only has one assist less than Willian this season.

True Scott, but to be fair you would hardly expect him to come out and say "I ain't going anywhere unless you pay me the money". You can be sure his agent will be saying it though.

Whatever it costs, (yes, even £10 million), it has to be done. He is like a black shadow hanging over the squad and we cannot move on until he is gone.
