Don't agree with the booing one bit but it was inevitably going to happen at some point. Booing your own player is a mugs game but the paying support have had their patience tested to the limit.
I suspect that's the watershed now and he has officially gone past the point of no return with the support. It was always likely to happen when another forward who is performing was bought in to challenge him. I doubt he will recover.
It is completely, unarguably 100% over.

No way was he the only player to come over. I didnt see any of that involving DS and certainly didnt hear any booing.

If true its a disgrace, but sadly not surpsiring bearing in mind some of the plums who go to games these days.

Surely by now everyone accepts its because Carlo picked him for that first game against Liverpool

    Absolutely spot on Davey.
The faux outrage and humourless indignation makes this place seen like the Daily Mail at its worst. I think it's often forgotten this is a football forum!

Must've been a joy for our players to have played with a centre forward that moves today. And it was great to see a Chelsea team with XI men again.
Suspect it was grim viewing for blondie on the bench and let's hope it stays that way.

I actually wouldn't be so sure of that! Ive seen some pretty amazing things said over the years! But anyway...He has explained what he meant by the term and whilst I maintain it wasn't the greatest statement its clear it wasn't meant to be interpreted the way some have - I would suggest everyone moves on now.
Apologies for getting caught up in this and involving myself.

Personally i dont think what the lad said was so awful. Sure it wasnt the most pleasant analogy but i feel it was more a comment on the influence the player has had on the club rather than a personal attack on the player himself. Maybe im way off, i dont know.

Either way, Ive noticed a few people calling for this thread to be locked. May i be the first to say that i think its VERY important that does not happen.

In fact i would suggest this thread contains everything needed for a healthy forum discussion. Agreements. Disagreements. Humor. Controversy. Longevity.

Ive been on these forums (in their many forms!) for 16 years now and not once have i seen a thread closed because a few people didnt like what was being said. If this thread turned into a personal slanging match with lots of agressive personal attacks then yes, but closing a thread because a few people have requested it because they are unhappy with the tone of a post or two ? Hmmmm....

I guess, what im saying is if this thread is closed the forum becomes pointless. If you dont like the thread, dont read it. Let alone post on it!!

For the record I've never called Fernando Torres 'Alice' or a 'ladyboy'.
I do however often refer to him as 'blondie' and also quite often call him a complete c**t.

It was a woeful miss from Torres last night. You say it was well saved, but the keeper should not have been in a position to be making a save. Any striker worth his salt wouldve put the ball to the keepers right not giving him any chance at all.

It was a hit and hope, a smash - not for me an 'instinct chance'. No excuses for me. Like his chance at the end of the Corinthians game there shouldve only been one outcome.

Sadly I/we expect that now. I would rather that chance had fallen to any other player in the Chelsea team last night and i wouldve expected them to score. The only player perhaps id be dubious about is Azpilicueta and thats only because I havent seen enough of his shooting yet to make a judgement.

I wasnt surprised when Torres missed (i consider it a miss and not a save) and that for me is what we are dealing with now. Expecting your £50 million striker to miss with the goal gaping from 5 yards.

Its comical bordering on pathetic - and its gone on far too long.

Torres is playing alongside some of the most creative players the world has to offer, but they are playing alongside a dud.

Any mug could score goals in this team, and Torres does, usually the fifth against Leeds.

Everyone else does the hard part and he skulks around, like the world owes him a living.

His general demeanour, by and large, is shocking. For someone earning 175k a week, shocking. For someone who's had the whole team club built around him, shocking. For someone who's been indulged such as him, shocking. He just feels awfully sorry for himself almost all the time, and we deserve more than that. He is cheating us. No will, no fight, no character. No personal responsibility.

Yes, it was only Southampton, but they are a Premiership side and Ba got two goals away from home from open play.

Has Torres ever done that .. ? In two years .. ?

This is one of the strongest teams in the world, I'd love to see Torres in a struggling side, and I mean really struggling, then he might really have something to feel sorry about.

Id agree with that about Moses. But you expect a striker at any level to do more than hit and hope from 6 yards out, which is what Torres did.

Apparentley without Suarez, Liverpool would be 16th, not 8th. Without RvP, Man Utd would be 11th, not 1st. Without Torres, Chelsea would still be 4th.

Im aware its a little subjective but for me at face value that tells you absolutley everything.

Ive said all season, that a decent striker would make a world of difference to this team. Well i suspect we are about to find out.
