I don’t understand how anyone can think this is a good idea given the current size/quality of the squad.

So the best f’in kid in our academy by a mile is set to move to Liverpool. Yay!

Further how does anyone with half a brain think the previous system of handing out fines holds any deterrent to these clubs not to break the rules?
Would anyone at Man City be bothered if they get fined 500mill? Their owner would just get his wallet, Job done. 
Same with us, same with Everton. Anyone at our clubs bothered if the owners loses some of his wealth? No? Thought not.
You have to make it a sporting sanction if you want this to mean anything, to make clubs do better. 
They will pay fines till the cows come home, they don't care. However you start taking away points, relegation etc, now everyone is concerned, and the fans will add pressure on the owners to take proper care of the club.
If we are guilty throw the book at us, likewise City and anyone else. If that means relegation, kicked out of the football league, whatever, the fans will still be here.
But do it fairly, big or small, rich or richest. If you want everyone to obey the rules, you have to show those rules mean something.

How does this make sense after selling Lewis Hall.  What happens when Chilwell gets his annual long term injury.

How come everyone else is getting good players on loan deals, including from us, yet we can’t pick one up to add depth for the season

I think if Lavia comes in then chilwell needs to go back to LB, allowing Mudryk or Nkunku instead of Gallagher.

We only have one game per week which should help. Come January, if Broja and Jackson are well off it, then I’d like us to chase Ivan Toney personally. 
 
Remember we have Nkunku (I know he can play deeper), Fofana and now Washington to also come into the squad next summer.
