Why follow it then? Just stay away from it all. I always enjoy the transfer season.

Can we land this top striker?
    Haaland: yes with money
    Lukaku: not so sure
    Kane: absolutely not
Lewandowski: according to latest reports, no.

    Who would fit us best?
    1. Haaland (monster, young, proven)
    2. Kane (best striker in the Prem)
    3. Lewandowski (best out and out striker in the world)
    4. Lukaku (years of evidence he is not a leading striker in a top Premier league side)
For me this is pretty simple. Haaland or nothing. If we could get Lewa for 40-50m I would go for him probably if Haaland is not available but otherwise lets make do what we have then and push Werner, Havertz and even Tammy to improve in scoring. Lower the expectations for the season a bit.

Not being sarcastic. In Chelsea-City games we offset each other. Both have possession and chances are created. The games we have against lesser opponents where the bus is parked the football turns sour. If we had a deadly finisher we could at least win the match. But I don't enjoy 70% ball possession matched even if it is us. The win makes it fine naturally but if we don't win it is twice as bad.
And to reiterate watch any of Chelsea-City games with Pep and Tuchel they are excellent and so far from being slow. Some brilliant football that is.

You are probably right in this analysis. What is also apparent, managers who play this football we now play didn't really exist in that era, successful ones anyway. In prime Pep years you didn't have Klopp, Tuchel, Pocchettino, Nagelsmann, Flick and so on plus player profiles were a bit different. Now everybody plays from the back, has a high press. What I am saying is that wasn't a trend even 5 years back. But I agree we got into it a bit too late. I am thinking 2012 we tried it with our old players managed by Andre Villas-Boas. He implemented the high line anyway. Not sure about the pressing. His problem was our old guard who he couldn't get on board. JT was probably thinking this is everything against José taught us and made us invincible. I remember Terry especially looking like a fool playing the high line.
Personally I have never been a fan of possession based football. Something Ajax did in the nineties, Barcelona then took with them under Cruyff and the managers followed by his tenure (Rijkaard, Pep). I understand it is successful if you make it right. But in the early days it completely killed the joy out of football matches. The other guy just held on the ball and passed it around the opposition box.
This era Chelsea Man City games are beautiful. Absolutely. Both sides with similar approach in high octane games. Football cannot be much better than this.
Our problem now under TT is the games where the opponent sits deep and we just cannot kill them off without a top class finisher.
Maybe a bit off topic. Sorry.

I think Grealish brings them goal contributions and a ton of freekicks. If he manages to bring that number up for them they are a much better side. Maybe they also need a proper DM and maybe a new striker.
If you left out the price from this equation Grealish is a good coup. They have the money as we all know.

This deal seems to be in some sort of mud now. Reports (not Fabrizio) are saying Zouma might be going to West Ham. If so we lose that bargaining chip. Same reports say we are offering Emerson in stead. I would believe that is the end of that deal then...Naturally we can always just pay up. They are saying it could be up to 70-80m Euros.....

He would be deadly with a masterful freekick taker in a team. He falls over so ofter you get 3-5 freekicks per game with him.
Anyway Grealish is a great talent. Any top team would be happy to have him. I just don't think we are after him.

I am still not convinced of Lukaku. He is certainly improved but the difference of level in the Prem and Serie A is a big one.
If we have to pay over 100m of someone I only trust Haaland. Kane is an impossibility anyway and even for him it is a ton. He is close to being 30. If you buy big, make it in an investment.

Very objective (subjective) view. No Chelsea bias what so ever 😂.
Anyway Varane is a top CB. Konate's athleticism will also help him in the Prem.
    But top post anyway.

    Lightweight ^😁
Anyway now that I've seen Broja play in a friendly for 30 mins I am conceived we don't need Haaland. Broja is the Armenian Haaland.
I think this is the week we need to start bidding if we want to make a deal. For me this is 20-80 at the moment. Anyway if we don't get Haaland we need to buy some other big name and that takes time as well. This is the week we make moves or we don't.
So I'll give it 48 hours.

Maybe we just sell Tammy to Arsenal. Broja takes his spot. This assessment was made after 12 minutes of exhibition football
