I have this idea for a film. It's about a man who's a bit of a wuss. A shrinking violet. Physically weak. Not very confident. Easily intimidated.

And then one day he finds this mask and when he puts it on he becomes a completely different personality. Brash, loud, confident. Does freakish things he could never normally do without the mask.

Jim Carrey or Fernando Torres would be great for the part.

There is no doubt Torres is no where near the player he was at Liverpool.

His time with Chelsea has turned out to be a failure.

His performance against Arsenal is further proof of that.

If Rafa  persists in starting him things will only get worse.

Since Ba arrived the pressure on Torres has increased.

From now on Rafa must start Ba.

203 pages just thought I would have my say
Fernandos 100th game for the club tonight and seeing as Ba, who lets be honest any striker with a £7m buy out clause is journey man striker can comprehensively out shine a £50m world superstar then time is up..... I am sorry to say I always believed Fernando would turn a corner but he is not going to.
I applaud him for his efforts despite some of the bullsh*t written he has not slagged off the club and he don't pick himself. I think a lesser man would have thrown the towel in a year ago, but fair play to him he hasn't and he is this seasons top scorer, if he was to leave at the end of the season then he would leave with my best wishes for the future.
Down to the Iberian salad dodging front of house manager to pick Ba for the rest of the season

I see no problem with giving your opinion on a Chelsea player if you are a Chelsea fan. But stop short at name-calling and horrible remarks, and I think we'll all get along fine.

I'll never wish him ill. I don't think it's working out for him here and I am really sad about that, but I actually really like him a lot, he comes across as a genuinely nice guy and he isn't a terrible player, he just isn't a brilliant one anymore.

I wish him the best if he goes in the summer.

A lucky deflection for the first and could have gone anywhere after hitting his shin for the second

I've always liked Fernando Torres and he's one of my favourite players, but Chelsea doesn't suit him and he would be better off leaving and going back to Spain. He's been at the club for 22 months which is pretty much 1.84 years and he hasn't performed to the level we've expected of him. I've seen glimpses of his old form during rare moments, but he hasn't looked like the player we all hoped for when we first signed him. To be honest, I advocated for his signing even though he was struggling at Liverpool at the time. I thought sometimes a player of such a high calibre needs a fresh start elsewhere and I thought he and Drogba would have a dominant partnership. I've stuck by Torres throughout the times when he's been bagged by others in the last 22 months, but there comes a point where you cannot defend him anymore. He hasn't adapted to Chelsea and I think he knows it.

He's lost his pace, his positioning on the ground is awful, his confidence and morale is at an all-time low, the playing style Chelsea initiates does not suit him and the support around him isn't great either. I just wonder whether Torres would have been a much better player if he was playing for us 5 years earlier. I guess we'll never know.

It's sad for Fernando that his career is at the crossroads, but I think he needs to move to rejuvenate himself. Sometimes things don't work out according to plan.

If I was Torres I would sue the arse out of the Sun.
I'd also not be wanting to be at the club for very long either with all this sh*t being put on my shoulders....Yes he's not been what we wanted but the piss he is getting is out of order but because he is out of form it's ok.
An attack on Chelsea players is not on in my book, f**k the sun and anyone who takes that rubbish in.

If you're going to play two up top I'd love to keep Torres and have him in a partnership with Falcao.

One of Torres' better efforts, unlucky not to score today. It's still painfully clear that we are a Falcao away from being a genuine title contender.

no chelsea fan wants torres to fail. idiotic comment that. fact is he is detrimental is our team and ambitions. we'd all love the club to not spend a penny and have world beaters, or if bossy, kalou and malouda turned into messis, but we're not in lalaland here where anything goes
players who arent good enough get moved on and better ones who can do the job get brought in. thats it

Ferguson wound me up saying Torres 'chose to go down' and 'it was his own fault.' he got clipped by Evans FFS, it was clear as day. And even witt ten men we looked better than United. Ridiculous decisions today.

I'm sure the same people having a go at torres now are the same people who had a go at people like me last season when I praised torres even when he wasn't getting goals. They told me to stop making everything about torres. They are now the people who fill this page up with awful sh*t when he dosn't score in one game. See you tuesday night after he scores yer?

Messed up vital chances again but worked his socks off as usual we've been lucky that these moments haven't been costly. I like the guy and as I said before its fine along as the team is scoring and he works hard I just worry it could end up costing us in a big game. Still we got Torres favourite opponents next Sun so maybe he was saving a goal or two for that game ;)

Yes, I have heard him credit Benitez alot for his coaching and man management when Torres first came to England, and there is no doubt that they built a very good side with Torres at the heart of it.
But in that time Liverpool's other strikers were Kuyt, Crouch, Voronin, Bellamy and Keane. A consistently terrible record of finding another solid goalscorer (until Gerrard was used as a forward) meant a bigger burden on torres which meant he was often rushed back from injury or not rehabbed properly and thrown out there again. That was a major failing of Benitez IMO along with many of his other wasted transfer dealings.
