blizeH
With that in mind, what sort of dealings would you do in the transfer market to get the player you'd want? For example, I'll get the ball rolling with... SELL -£8m Bridge SELL -£6m Alex BUY £14m Arshavin SELL -£8m Kalou SELL -£10m Malouda BUY £4m Gudjohnson BUY £10m Ben Arfa BUY Gallas £4m All absolute estimates, of course
Lofty
With that in mind, what sort of dealings would you do in the transfer market to get the player you'd want? For example, I'll get the ball rolling with... SELL -£8m Bridge SELL -£6m Alex BUY £14m Arshavin SELL -£8m Kalou SELL -£10m Malouda BUY £4m Gudjohnson BUY £10m Ben Arfa BUY Gallas £4m All absolute estimates, of course Wayne Bridge has the occasional bad game it's true, but generally is required as cover for Ashley Cole. Alex - if it's true he really wants to go, then let him go. Arshavin - I don't follow foreign football much, and from the little I've seen of his International performances, he had a couple of good games and afterwards was largely anonymous. Sell Kalou AND Malouda? Granted neither of them has exactly set the league alight this season butwith our lack of forward options, getting rid of both might be a little foolhardy. Eider: good football brain, lacks the pace we need. Ben Arfa: I really don't know. Gallas: Gallas? GALLAS????? You've got to be having a laugh. byatt
BUY £4m GudjohnsonBUY Gallas £4m As much as i'd like to see Eidur back in a Chelsea shirt, we need to be moving forwards, not backwards, and Gallas is a definite no
Ruh Buh Juh
Gudjohnsen - 100% go for it. Gallas - sod him. Bring up Mancienne! Oh and can I add that Kalou would probably be mroe than Malouda pricewise has he's 8 years younger and already on a par with Malouda. geezer
People constantly moan about the club signing has-beens and yet here we are advocating signing Eidur. Why?
dkw
People constantly moan about the club signing has-beens and yet here we are advocating signing Eidur. Why? my thoughts exactly, why go back. i think some people have a very rose tinted view of eidurs time here. now i liked him as much as anyone, but he really only had 2 superb seasons, then struggled for the next couple. hes done ok at barca but not really made a starting place his own and i think he would be in exactly the same situation back at the bridge. loz
The whole idea of bringing Guddy back is something I find slightly bizarre. We lack pace, he has none, we lack width, he has none (except maybe after too much Christmas pud), we don't play with a second striker, he is one and we don't lack central midfielders, he also plays there. Guddy's best days are behind him and although we may see him in the Premiership again it is likely to be at a West Ham, Bolton or Sunderland. Not a team pushing for the title. blizeH
I'll stand by the Eidur thing; he's only 30 and we played some of our best football with him in the team, and as for his lack of pace? Watch the game against Barcelona where we beat them 4-2 and then say he doesn't have pace He'd be cheap as chips, and I'd much rather have him in the team than Kalou, Malouda, Deco and even Ballack right now. Ok... Wayne Bridge, whom i rate better than A.Cole is out to the next "Chelsea" on 12 mil quids. But it is good that we are linked to Zhirkov, the next "ronaldinho" The ability to prise defence... that's what we need ! check out his goals :P mouth watering if he comes ! blizeH
Sell Drogba for whatever little we can get for him. Buy Heskey. I'm not even f**king kidding. (although to be fair, that is less controversial that my Gudjohnson and Gallas claims above!)
