Just read that onSky :

Aguero, who is seeing Maradona's daughter, has insisted he is happy with life in the Spanish capital, but the Argentina boss has given suitors of the striker encouragement by claiming the 20-year-old would consider a move to England.

"If Chelsea, City or Inter Milan come in with sufficient money then Atletico will take it - it is the law of football," Maradona told Marca.

"If they can pay the right money then they can take Kun [Aguero].

"I don't particularly want Kun to leave Atletico but I always try to tell the truth and all those clubs must know what will happen if they come up with the cash."

God, how I hope we can come up with the cash. Please Roman, pleeease. :D The guy looks exactly like the type of striker we need. He won't be cheap, but, boy, is he worth every penny.

Aguero is top player and would be glad to sign him but City would out bid us anyday. I would really be a great suprise if he was to move, which he won't.

Let's face it, Robinho and Kaka aren't going there to play football and with Robinho and with Kaka on his way he will surely be an idiot aswell. No CL, No trophys so what's the point of going there?!

Thats funny, I seem to remember seeing Robinho playing football at COMS many times this season and second top scorer in the premier league. Obviously it must be someone else in his shirt.

Aguero would look good in sky blue

Man City can't out bid us with Aguero, he has a clause in his contract where he can be brought for 40m.

How does that prevent City from outbidding us? Does the clause in the contract say that you can't bid more than €40mil for him? And can we afford to bid so much on a single player anyway?

They wouldn't need to outbid us - it would be pointless. Once the clause is activated then the club is allowed to negotiate with the player (should the player want to) so it would not do City any good offering more than the clause.

What they would do though is dwarf the salary we offer.

However this is just idle chat as there is no way we are paying that kind of money for anyone right now.

Jesus Christ! Only £55 quid! That's a better deal than anyone could get! I could get him for £55 quid. Sorry just a little humour (I think).-_- Serioulsly now, 15million with Drogba is a very good deal. I want him gone as soon as possible, he's bringing bad spirit and attitude to the club and he is a moaning little swine!

1. Athletico do not want a player like Drogba. They are younger, energetic and doing well with Forlan, Luis Garcia, Simao and other mid level stars. Already in the CL knockouts, and are probably strong enough for the top four next year. Also, they are soon getting a new stadium (I believe) so they are surely gonna be an attractive prospect for players who stay, and having Aguero means they have a bonafide stud for the next ten years.

I love the addage "if they come up with sufficient money!"

2. This. "sufficient" money for a guy like him is 50 million. We might be able to get a bid accepted if the bidding was among other Spanish rivals. But if City/Inter/other Italian clubs get involved, we dont have a hope in hell.

It would be a dream, but I think the only time he will ever play for Chelsea is in pro evo and other games.

Jesus, when did we become skint, cause I must have missed that memo ? Just because we have refused to spend big in the winter, doesn't mean we won't be able to come up with some big bucks if there is a need for it.

FFS, we were ready to splash some serious dough on a certain Robinho, so apparently we can come up with the money. Roman is not poor suddenly and i don't think it is the case that he has suddenly decided to leave ship and see us drown.

We also have a lot of attractiveness to players - we are a regular semi-finalist team in the CL, have been in the top two in the Prem for 5 years (no other team has done that !).

Cheer up, lads.

That's the point in a release clause, once a club offer a price that is matching the players release clause, in this case 40m it HAS to be accepted because of this clause in the contract. Every player in Spain has a release clause, it's part of the rules in La Liga.

I dont think Roman is all of a sudden poor, but 40m is too much I dont rate Aguero that highly. Just leave it to Franco.

Also, I just heard Aguero and Maradona's daughter are expecting, will someone please get their hands on that baby.

it wouldnt surprise me if the bidding for that child started while it was still an embryo, though everyones gonna be gutted if its a girl...

Well with Kaka not going to Citeh and Robhino gone walkabout in a huff as a result, maybe we could get, Robhino, Aguerro and Kaka and reinvigorate the frontline.

Just think about a 26 year old Kaka for 100 m. Let's say he's worth a generous 20 m when he is 30. Even if he stays injury free you are writing off 20 m a year of capital or 0.5 m per game, that's about 50 K a minute plus salary.

Why would you still want Robinho, isn't it enough to see him getting the strop to warrent not having him at the club? You think Drogba can whinge, but at least he doesn't go Awol.

Robinho is clear proof he is only at City for money, what are they going to win this season other than fighting relegation. He is merely part of a project that could go either way.

Give me players that want to put on a blue shirt and play for the club instead of thinking what else they can gain by going anywhere with cash.

You are wise beyond your years, young Mod.

That was one of the first things that came to mind when I heard about this. Thank god he didnt come to us after all. Much better league place, obviously, but still, if thats how he reacts when things arent going the right way.....

frigging baby
