Is it from an overseas tour on the back of winning the title in '55? Or, and I'm not sure about this, but did we play an overseas friendly after the FA or Football League prevented the club from entering the following season's European Cup?

Ok Ok everyone stop hounding me for the answer, I give in.

The date was 23rd May 1954.

The opposition was Borussia Dortmund.

The location was Randalls Island, NY (the early home of US Football)

Score was 6-1 to Dortmund.

Ah the pre season before THE season. I've been scouring my books for this picture expecting to find it being played in Eastern europe!
