TheWestwayWonder Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 RIP to a man who deserved to be around see the achievements the team have made over the last few years. Amen to that, I am sure he is looking down happily. And I am glad Roman restored his family into the clubs good graces considering how much CFC owe to him. Rest in peace.

bluegraham Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 He's the reason we're here, rest in peace Matthew i loved matthew harding. but the reason we are here is ken bates i know matthew was more off a fan living the dream but bates saved the club twice sadly matthew never had the chance to live to see our wonderful story be told,as far a i know most of the money ,matthew harding gave to chelsea were all lends i could be wrong. love him are hate him its ken bates has us here now he saved us in the 80s and he done the deal with romans advicers. i think ken dont get the credit he desevers. if matthew was hear today maybe roman wouldn't be. i still loved matthew but thats just the way i feel. i sang he's name load and proud the year in the cup final and i was at he's minute silence match against spurs. the amount of flowers lefted outside the gate that they was very touching. matthew won us the cup that year. matthew hardings blue and white army. rip

Don't get me wrong, I don't underestinmate or undervalue what KB did for the club however had it not been for Matthew all of KB's efforts would have been in vain.
dkw Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Bates saved the club initially, Matthew moved it to the level we were at with the players Geezer mentioned.
