At a guess, I'd say this early picture of Jimmy was taken in 1957 as I remember that shirt when he made his debut (I thought the snazzy looking blue duct tape around the sleeves looked the bollocks at the time!). Probably mentioned before, but he had an astonishing goal scoring record for England as well as us ofcourse.

You'd be right.

The 58/59 kit had white cuff bits on the sleeves, but was otherwise identical.

This looks to be from the same photo shoot, 1st August of 57'.

My next Chelsea top I think.

I got that retro shirt and in the summer with a pair of shorts looks good, not chelsea shorts though, in case your thinking I walk around in full kit at 48!!! My first kit was the blue umbro with diamonds down the sleeves

Yeah I have a couple of pairs of navy blue dress shorts that I wear with my Chelsea retro tops or polo shirts. My son got me the Chelsea retro tracksuit top from the 1970s and I happily wear it with jeans. The other retro top I want is the white red and green one from about 1974.

Yes one of my lads has the white one with red and green, very smart, it fits me, so might sneek it out in the summer when he's away, could be worse, some middle age men put their Mrs clothes on when 'her in doors' is away!!!!!

The official site has our 1998 League Cup Final win over Middlesbrough in the 'A Moment in Time ' series. Well worth a read. Is it really 20 years ?

Great day out. There were rucks going on before, during ( half time in the concourse) and after the game. We had a massive firm that day.

ps thought that was 89?

I worked with a Chelsea bloke a few years ago- didn't know him before but one of those ones where you clock each other and quickly work out you recognise each other through football etc etc.

Cut a long story he told me he went windmilling into a carriage full of Boro at Wembley Park after the game- can't remember the inns and outs but when the doors shut he was the only Chelsea on there.

The train was non stopping to Baker St so plenty of time for them to hand out a proper kicking.

Went to the away games up there in 2003, 2004 seasons, one was on a sunday. We won 2-1 on the sunday one, and drew 1-1 on the Saturday game ( I think).
Never seen so many ugly women in a town in my life, total hounds!. We've all seen massive guys from other clubs over the years, but up there, they took 1st prize. Was in a pub opp the station pre game at the bar, this bloke walked up to get a beer, and was like a barn door.
Barmaid came over, asked who was next, I nodded that he was!!.

I drunkenly pulled this bird from Boro one night she wasn't exactly petite. She got in a cab and wrote her number on a piece of paper and said the most bizarre thing any woman has said to me she said '' Call me after the wrestling'' this was the mid 80's I couldn't help myself I said '' Why are you in the ring?''. The look she gave me ha ha I thought she was going to get out and give me a right hander the cab driver had to suppress his laughter don't suppose he got a tip.

Image may contain: 3 people, people smiling, night, drink and indoor

Alan Hudson, 'swarve' Marv' and Stewart Houston with the European Cup Winners Cup (I thought it was bigger than that!) but the identity of the bloke peering over their shoulders escapes me. Could be Derek Smethurst who I met when we were having a trial for Chelsea. He went on to play and coach professionally while I disappeared to non league obscurity.
