ws6blue
How good is he.....man of the match against England, easily best player on the pitch, and at Newcastle. He can play anywhere in the middle or behind the strikers, he can pass short or long, can tackle, can shoot and has great awareness around him - what about the goal against brentford. Also a bit of a character, so glad we got him
evissy
And we havent seen the best of him. When he gets smarter and starts to know all the opponents he is a potential player of the season.

Scott Harris
I'm not arguing for the sake of arguing but he was not the best player on the pitch, best Brazilian player yes, but there was a few English players who had a better game, Jack Wilshere being one of them. I don't even think Oscar was that great yesterday to be honest. His movement was good and he put 1 great ball into the box, apart from that i think England had him under control. Tommy26
i really think if we play him in the middle next to lampard/ramires then he could well blossom into one of the greatest midfielders in the world. Currently being played out wide really doesnt suit him, he looks good still simply because of just how skilful he is but i really don't think he its doing him justice. Himself,Ramiers,Frank,Chalaboh rotating midfield next season would be superb
Spiller86
I've personally found him to be a bit of a weak link. But that could be as much to do with how we've used him as anything else. One thing is for.certain we can't play Mata, Hazard and Oscar in the same team. Not direct enough and a bit too lax defensively
That Boy Brandinho
I've personally found him to be a bit of a weak link. Not direct enough and a bit too lax defensively Of course we can, we just can't play the three of them together up front for every match. Also, if it's defense that you're worried about, it seems silly to drop the only one of the trio that actually contributes defensively. The best solution is to drop Oscar deeper and play Moses on the right when width is needed. Arbitrarily deciding that we can only play 2 of the 3 at any given time is not wise, in my opinion. I agree, both Oscar and Neymar were definitely on the ball the most in that game, but both were wasteful the majority of the time and they really looked their age out there, boys against men. Wilshere bossed that game until the last 20 or so minutes when we dug in, definitely the great hope of the English midfield looking beyond Frank and Gerrard's retirements. DoubleHelix74
Thought he was wonderful yesterday. The cross into Ivanovich was pure class and just a tad out of reach... It was very similar to that impressive goal pulling the ball around Pirlo and spinning with a kick placing the ball perfectly in the corner of the net without even looking up. For me, goal of the season thus far. The more I see this kid play the more he reminds me of Pirlo. I think once he adds a little more weight to his frame he will be the deep seated midfielder general we covet. I think he will be the best Brazilian player out of this newer younger class of stars, including Neymar. Scott Harris
Any old excuse to post this. Again. Goal of the season. I love this goal but i get annoyed every time i see it because this game probably cost us qualifying for the last 16. It just shows that we were letting 2-0 leads slip well before Benitez arrived. timetowaste
People do seem to forget we were getting crap before Benitez got here. But back on topic Oscar is decent, has some improving to do though.

Against Juve & Shakthar away yes, but in the other games we lost we had plenty of chances, it was bad finishing. Under Rafa we have been fire, gone backwards. ws6blue
No doubting his class is there......should've been on earlier as is great foil for mata who tired. But his goal was so fluid and balanced -yes Sparta we're tiring but can't take away the one spot of class in a not great performance by the team Give him an award or something

Uno
He is still young as well, he should only get better. Will he stay with us? Im not so sure. I think in a few seasons the likes of Barca or Madrid will come calling and depending where we are at the time he could be tempted.
ForeverCarefree
Seems to have found a bit of form again in recent weeks, with Moses back in the squad now I would still love to see Oscar tried in one of the deeper lying midfield roles. I really think he could dictate play from there and it would allow him to be central and not pushed out wide.
SHELLY
I find it bizarre that he's married..he looks like he should be out doing a paper round...great player with bags of potential, i'm glad we've got him...

I dont think Lamps and Oscar would do a great job together. It would have to be Luiz and Lamps or Luiz and Oscar.

It would have to be Luiz and Lamps or Luiz and Oscar. It would be for Lampard. He's played a lot of games in recent weeks and probably needs to sit one out to keep his legs fresh. So, for arguments sake, the game on Thursday night the line up could be. ------------Cech Azpi - Ivan - Terry - Cole --------Luiz - Oscar Moses - Mata - Hazard -----------Torres Think of it as an audition for if we are silly enough not to offer Frank a new contract. ethicalstrategy
I like the idea of Oscar playing deeper. But I would drop Luiz back in to central defence to accommodate him.

Disagree, I've missed the trident genius of Mazcar as employed by RDM. Here's mine: Azpi - Ivan - Terry - Cole --------Luiz - Lampard Oscar - Mata - Hazard -----------Ba/Torres -----------Torres
