so, we're only 2 points behind you lot now...

the question is, do you think you can hang on to third, or will Arsenal push you out into the depths of the third qualifying round?

No!No!

Chelsea is preparing for Uero Cup campaign......

And our only domestic hope is Carling Cup, though no chances against Arsenal...

And RedRobMol, how do you think would Liverpool be able to become first?? Or u would become poor second?

Mate you lot are having your best seaon for years, youv'e got every right to enjoy it but why do you have to keep embarassing yourself? your last two games have been against teams with a makeshift CB pairing, 1 with a huge dip in form due to a lot of important players being out and some behind the scenes problems, the other looking certs for relegation.

Ok you still have to win these games and that you did but go on the thread

Premeirship Predictor and have a go at the results, this will show you how in your opinion the season will end, do it honestly and un biasly if you can.

now add 6 points to what you ended Liverpool on and you might be in third place, First? then you didn't really do it un biasly did you?

I expect Arsenal to finish above you as they are at this time by far the better team but if they dont I think third for you is a good finish, Basque in the glory as it will be some more History for you when you dont reach those dizzy heights for another ten years icon_rolleyes.gif

Well red robed moll or whoever you are, it'll be 5 points gap again in another few hours, and we'll all be waiting (?!?) with baited breath for your next exciting instalment which will, no doubt, provide all and sundry with yet another boorish, bathetic and mostly historicist diatribe on how you have the best supporters, yours is the greatest club ad nauseum. You see most of us here have a healthy respect for LFC's achievements over the years and even some of their more respectful, even handed, knowledgeable and non-disengenuous supporters who (very) occasionally grace these pages.

Unfortunately, and based on your recent posts, you don't meet any of the aforementioned criteria.

In fact you've revealed yourself to be yet another (and sadly typical) scarlet tart.

Most of us can only hope that Barca will teach you a lesson so that we won't have to put with more of the vainglorious ramblings and wildly nonsensical predictions that always emanate from the likes of you throughout every season.

You'll be welcome back on these pages when you win the league. That should at least give you enough time to get a sense of perspective. Until then WDYJFO.

A third point to consider....

we are currently 12 points down on the same stage last season. So it's hardly a case of Liverpool improving. Unfortunately, we have got worse. and still you are 5 points behind us!

That must be pretty demoralising.

Still, at least UEFA have come to your aid by bending the rules especially for you!

I thought it was funny (and typical) that the BBC headline after Liverpool's win yesterday said "Liverpool close to 2 points behind Chelsea". Big deal! Is that really a story seeing as United are a further 6 ahead? Typical of the press to try and make a decent result for Liverpool into a negative headline for Chelsea. Credit to Liverpool for trying to make it more than a 2 horse race but lets face it we are all chasing United at the moment.

it's almost like running a headline "Chelsea close gap to 3 points" at the end of our game today while Man U still ahd about 10 minutes to play

just to get this all into perspective, my post was only ever meant as a wind up and to see how many of you would bite. I never expected you to lose, i hopes you may do, but never expected it.

The way i see it at the moment is this;

1. we beat you last week, so giving a bit out about it should be fair game, even if you have your excuses ready.

2. we were at the time only 2 points behind and it was a chance to see if you were getting jittery at all.

I have absoltely no confidence that we can win the title, as i do not believe that United will drop enough points for us to catch them. They will drop points but not that many. I do however beleive that there are is a very good chance of us catching you lot and although this is optimistic, it is still a firm belief. On the other hand i also believe that you can catch United, which may sound contradictory but i think that is how open the title race is at the moment.

My predictions for the run in are; either United win the league and we finish second, or You lot win the league and we finish third. Neither are worth shouting from the rooftops about, but both would mean that the final run in is worth watching.

As for your post about seeing what i really am, and going on about our history, i hope this post tries to expell that a little and i dont mean to go on about our history and wasnt aware that i had, although it is something i am immensely proud of.

i love it when people like this write tripe and then claim it was a simple 'wind up'

I will defend the Mouser here. Redrob has generally been good sport on here (both in terms of taking the p*ss out of us and also having the p*ss taking out of him)

I think it is a fair question as to whether we are getting jittery about losing 2nd spot, we have been decidedly average for a long time and have dropped a lot of points whereas Liverpool have been on a very impressive run and, in particular, their home form is second to none.

If (sorry when icon_wink.gif ) we close the gap on Utd to a point or two we will be making similar noises. Just as we will when Arsenal close the gap on Liverpool and we see Liverpool languishing back in fourth spot! icon_razz.gif

Now our form as good as never was this season. Some players are settling in, some are recovering from injuries. The only thing I can link our recent falldown are injuries even counting unsettled and out of form worldclass striker. But I don`t call it a problem. Injuries are usual thing in football. So, I can say we were just unlucky.

To be honest Liverpool`s home run is fantastic. I accept this brand "Fortress Anfield". But it seems to me Liverpool`s away perfomance is lacking consistency. I remember Jose Mourinho words:"They (Liverpool) can win single match, but in a long run they are not opponents for us" (or something like that). That`s totally accepted by me.

So, for me EPL this season is two races of two horses anyway.

Redrobmol, a very fast dog running behind you... Can you see it??

And good luck against Barcelona, sincerely.... Kick goofy&Co !

you may not.

How about now?

I believe you were saying something about being sucked back into the 4th spot. Quite prophetic.
