In the bottom picture, between the last two roof stanchions was where my old man and his mates stood before the bench seats were installed in 1973. My younger son has his season ticket in the Govan Stand Upper Section. And it’s directly above where his Grandpa stood! Boyne

erskblue
The official attendance at the Scottish Cup Final of 1976 was 85,354. However, an exit gate at the Kings Park Terracing End of Hampden was forced opened and its conservatively estimated 10,000 supporters got in unofficially, until the police arrived to close the gate. erskblue
The final whistle has just been blown at the end of the 1976 FA Cup Final. The contrast between the two respective teams benches is so evident! Edited May 2 by erskblue Boyne
Boyne
The late, great Jimmy Bell who passed away a year ago today. A man who was passionate about Rangers and ensured that players shared that passion and new the history of the club. Every club needs someone like Jimmy. erskblue
Boyne
1976. A great side. Won the treble that season. Managed by the great Jock Wallace. If Jock Wallace were still alive and managing either Rangers or Chelsea he would give the players a good boot up the jacksy. erskblue

They would certainly have no lack of commitment in either team, from first to last whistle. Boyne
Boyne
As Derek Parlane turned 70 today. This is the goal he scored against Celtic in the 1973 Scottish Cup Final. A great header following a fine cross by Doddie. Alfie Conn is the other Rangers player in the picture. erskblue

erskblue
Scotland v Hungary at Hampden on 8th December 1954. The visitors won 4-2. A crowd of 113,146! saw it. On a freezing cold Saturday in December!! The white sleeves on the Scotland shirt caught my eye. They only ever used this shirt for this match and the 1954 World Cup Group match v Hungary. Great pictures. Should be two good games. I fancy Inter to win over the two legs. Wouldn't surprise me Inter won the CL but then I'm hopeless with predictions. erskblue
