From 1972. A few players that I don't recognise.

Boyne: This was a Scotland squad that travelled to Rio De Janiero in July 1972 for a tournament! The Independence Tournament. 

In their group, Scotland faced Brazil, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia.

They’d face the Czechs in their 1974 World Cup Qualifying Group. Then face both Brazil and Yugoslavia in their actual World Cup Group in West Germany in zJune 1974!

Had to look up the squad as I didn’t recognise a few of the players either.

Mid week game v Dundee Utd in May 1976. Official attendance given as I think 51,000. Didn’t include those young supporters’lifted over the turnstiles’ and so not counted!😀

From 1969 when Scotland played West Germany. Two great players Muller and Beckenbauer.

The first international football match. Score was 0-0 and the game was watched by 4,000. 1872 is not only the year for the first international football year but was also when Rangers was formed.

Argentina v Scotland June 1977. A ‘friendly’ international which saw two players sent off !
Looks like Kenny Dalglish is the Scottish player.

Kevin Keegan in action for England v Bulgaria. A Euro 80 qualifier in June 1979 which England won 3-0.

Prettty sure this match was shown live on tv. A rare enough occurrence back in 1979.
