June 18, 20177 yr Just now, Boyne said: You're right mate, fair play to the guy. We went back to the pub after the game and he was still there. As you say, if a Chelsea fan had gone into a Spurs pub he would have been battered. Just had a look on twitter. Some cracking photos. Would love it if there was a friendly between the two sides at the Bridge. Was at the friendlies at Ibrox in 2007 and 2011 and the atmosphere (especially the one in 2007) was brilliant. I was at them, 2 brilliant days and really enjoyed mixing with the rangers fans before and after the games in the boozers. I was hoping to get to this game but just couldn't manage it unfortunately.
June 20, 20177 yr A few pictures from Saturday's game. Apologies for the poor quality of a couple. I put it down to the amount of beer consumed before the game.
October 29, 20177 yr Author Chelsea old boys v Rangers Legends confirmed for June 9th 2018 at Sutton United again.

January 27, 20187 yr Tickets for the Legends game are now on sale. A few months to the game but will be a great day out. https://www.followfollow.com/forum/threads/tickets-now-on-sale-for-rangers-legends-v-chelsea-legends-9th-june-at-sutton-united.15681/ https://www.musicglue.com/rangers-legends-v-chelsea-legends
May 14, 20186 yr Ten tickets purchased for the game. Looking forward to it. Was a great day out last year. Here's a picture of Ray taken just before last year's game. Suspect his name will be chanted by both sets of fans many times during the match.
May 21, 20186 yr Draft version of the front cover of the programme for the game on 9 June. Hope it's the final version. A cracking picture.

I'm not sure if they will play this year, haven't seen the squads yet. Spencer could play for both sides as could Durie, Flo and Fleck. Found this article. It's from the Sutton Guardian. Monies raised from the game will go to St. George's Hospital in Tooting where Ray was treated. http://www.suttonguardian.co.uk/sport/16229407.Chelsea_and_Rangers_legends_meet_at_Sutton_United_for_Ray_Wilkins_Cup/?ref=rl&lp=1
May 25, 20186 yr Author Doesn't seem to be as much interest from Chelsea fans this time, loads ive spoken to are either not bothering or just coming for a drink, while Rangers are bringing loads again. Shame but each to their own.

Shame but each to their own. That's a shame about the lack of interest from Chelsea fans. It was a great day out last year and with playing for the Ray Wilkins Memorial Cup it will be a great way to remember a player who is revered by fans of both clubs. Am going with nine other people most of whom went last year. All of us enjoyed the day. Coming from a Rangers supporting family I've always had a soft spot for the 'Gers. Have been teaching those I go to Chelsea games with some Rangers songs.

I might be wrong mate but this time last year various Chelsea sites & fb pages had 100s all saying they were going, this still i havent seen the same interest & talking to some mates & lads who came last year most have said their not sure if they can bothered this time. I'm sure we'll still have plenty there just maybe not as many as last year, one pub alone in the high st had a good 200 Chelsea present, hope its the same this year. Theres a 9/10 of us going, might have to take my ensign flag again.

I know that there is no direct link between the game and the two clubs but I do find it strange that neither of the clubs is advertising it on their websites. I can't recall either club advertising last year's game either. Not sure where we're going for a drink before the game but will look out for your flag.
May 28, 20186 yr As Bob Dylan sang, the Times are a changing, I notice Garrison has not been around updating Chelsea's finest blog as people 'move upstairs'. I suspect a lot of the Chelsea crowd that used to attend might not be around any more. I only say that as I have friends from 30 years ago, I'm in my early 50's now with a lot of symptoms and all 6 of us don't think we will make it to retirement age.
June 2, 20186 yr Author Anyone looking for decent pubs this one is quality albeit a bit quirky(i hate that word )http://shinnerandsudtone.com/ it has a Union Flag hanging outside & pictures of The Queen & Royal family inside so might be a favourite with Rangers fans. This one is also decent http://therobinhoodsutton.co.uk/ & not far from the ground
June 8, 20186 yr Just seen this on Follow Follow (Rangers Fans Forum). Some fine players on both sides. Durie playing for Chelsea this year. Played for the 'Gers last year. Ross Wilkins, Ray's son, will play part of the game tomorrow.
June 10, 20186 yr A great day at Sutton United yesterday. Great banter between the fans. Loads of Bears in the crowd. Have to say that Rangers fans outnumbered Chelsea supporters. There must have been a few Millwall fans in the ground as I saw a Union Flag with Millwall Loyalists written on it. We met in the Moon on the Hill pub before hand. Loads of flags and banners outside. I should have taken photos. We had a couple of photos with Kerry in the ground. As for the game, I thought it was a good match. Rangers won 2-1 and it was a closer match than last year's. I thought that David Lee, Gary Stanley and Frank Sinclair had good games. McCulloch, Hendry, Mols and Andrews played well for the 'Gers. Great to see Ray Wilkins' son, Ross play. Played well. During the game I gave some thought to a combined Rangers and Chelsea legends team. A difficult selection as have had to miss out several players e.g. Lampard, Drogba and Wise for us and Baxter, McLean and Jardine for Rangers. Sadly some of the players below are no longer with us. Have gone for a 4-4-2 formation. GK: Peter Bonnetti Defence: John Terry, Richard Gough, John Greig and Ron Harris Midfield: Ray Wilkins, Ian Durrant, Charlie Cooke and Davie Cooper Attack: Peter Osgood and Ally McCoist. Not sure about manager. A number of captains to choose from as captain. Any of the back four would make a great captain. We Are The People Edited June 10, 20186 yr by Boyne

June 10, 20186 yr Sounds like a great day, did you get to meet any players? I went to one of these years ago and met the cat, what a brilliant bloke he was.
