Not sure what to make of this but if he's available for the reported 35m, I'd take him.

His agent, who is also his brother, is said to be on his way to London to discuss terms with Chelsea...Roma were demanding 40m Euros when Inter bid for him in June...if memory serves me right, he said that he wanted to leave Italy because of the racism in the game there...

Would take him he seems versatile can play CB,RB and even LB if required.

and with a reported 30million fee at 24 wouldn't be bad.

Matt Law also reporting his agent is in London and Roma expect him to leave to us for around £30 million.

I don't love it since he clearly wasn't Contes first, second or maybe even third choice but he's a solid player. But would have prefered Van Dijk.

Yes van dijk would be most peoples preference. But at 60million I reckon the board were put off with that amount.

Glad we are going for cheaper options - will signal to other clubs that we can't be held for ransom.  This is also not a budget option in the Djilobodji sense either - Rudiger is good, just had a couple of injuries.  Yes, fine margins at the very top but not sure that VVD is really worth 30-40 mn more, and could spend the balance on a RWB for instance.

Not necessarily we lost Terry and Ake to replace with Rudiger and another CB is hopefully what we are looking at,  then again we brought back Andreas so who knows, I think Rudigers price is so low because of injuries we seem to be able to take players suffering with long term injuries and fix the, costa, for example, look also to Falcao, had a season with our medical team then left us and started playing full seasons, winning the french league and could play again, plus our team is consistently the least injured in the league, I believe our medical dept. are the best in Europe so maybe we can get a bargain here, a fit Rudiger is a top player.

Would take Rudiger, seems equally comfortable wherever he plays at CB and can also play at RB/RWB. Definitely an upgrade over Zouma/Ake.

Zouma needs to go out on loan and get some regular football...Rudiger seems like a good option as he can play anywhere across the back...would also look to Gibson and Manolas too...but I think Manolas will stay with Roma if Rudiger moves on...

Yep, that's what I remember, too. Which makes me think he's Conte's choice. 

Would be happy with him, could be an upgrade on Moses.

no, but we aren't getting bonucci in my lifetime, and southampton are adamant van dijk isn't for sale. option 3 is rudiger. i believe we were after him over a year ago, but it didn't happen, so he's obviously been on our radar for some time. for £30m it's a great price and could turn out to be a very good signing for us.

I find it funny how this rumour has had more legs on it than anything to do with Alex Sandro, wonder why that is.

Exactly and that's why they're happy for this deal to go through quickly (hence his brother and agent traveling to London already)...we allegedly agreed a 25m euro deal for him last year until he did his ACL...I would be surprised if we paid much more this time round given his injury history and Roma's financial plight...remember Zenit were only paying 30m euros for Manolas...

Not keen tbh. I'm not sure we need a centre back, let alone one that isn't better than what we already have. 

Id take zouma and christiensen over him.

Considering who we have been linked with at centre back, and the prices being touted about, this seems very underwhelming.

If he comes I would love to be proven wrong, but imo there are better options out there.

He was out until Oct after which he never seemed to lose his starting spot

Had a set back from his ACL injury buy still played 25 league games and 4 CL games last season...also remember he has been very vocal in condemning racism in Italian football and has stated his wish to move abroad because of it...
