A few minutes in, and the false 9 is already failing. The ball goes long and City are straight back on the ball because we have nobody up there that can win it for us.

He keeps using it even when we have strikers available so it must be for tactical reasons, but I've never heard any theory to why he keeps using it despite it failing all the time.

Watch City when they press us...when we are about 20-25 yards out from out goal, unfortunately we are doing the same when they have the ball, (20-25 yards out from our goal ) and it means we have a longer distance to travel to get to their goal even if we do win the ball back....we are just far too standoffish and with Tibo and other simply booting the ball away, which is what City force you to do they easily win the ball back.
