Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2018/2019

Recommended Posts

Almost tradition now that I start up the new nearest and dearest thread.

So here we are, the 2018/19 season.... The league awash with players who weren't even born in the previous millennium (feeling old yet?).

As always let's share news, thoughts and opinions on everyone who isn't Chels.

I expect the obligatory "Chelsea should never have sold [insert name of player here who once played for us and just scored]" posts and plenty of laughing at Spurs.

My first post in last season's nearest and dearest thread

Quote

New season is fast approaching so time to start up a new thread.

Should probably start with some news, so Frank de Boer has taken over at Palace, got to say I'm slightly surprised by that appointment, I thought de Boer was quite sought after, quite the coupe for Palace.

So y'know... There's that.

Arsenal's signings so far have been mediocre. They will be interesting to follow next season.

Interested to see how Mourinho does too whether Manure fans turn on him or not.

I have been thinking recently but how long do you guys see Pep staying at City? 5 seasons? or more?

Don't see where he can go after City and if they're so willing to keep buying him new toys i can see him staying for as long as City want him/he wants to retire. Probably end up as Spain manager in 8 years.

PSG? Once they're in the clear with FFP or Italy probably but doubt it. None of the Italian clubs have enough money to fund Pep's projects

Thought maybe PSG but is that maybe a step down into a sh*t league? Suppose Bayern was a step down from Barca so its possible.

Wayne Rooney set to join DC United.

His career ending with a bit of a whimper really, the move back to Everton wasn't the homecoming it was scripted to be. He doesn't really have the legs to play as the lone striker but is a bit of a square peg in the midfield role.

So now he's off to the MLS, playing for a bit of a random side in one of the less glamorous locations and he's not even 33 yet.
