You just don't know, you have to take it with a pinch of salt. It's so easy to speculate and assume. For one, I can believe that with Rudiger, I just don't like him as a bloke or a player, but again, I have 0 evidence to even assume he did that.

The media can just make up anything, although to Matt Law's credit, he does have some solid connections to the club so that might be true.

There’s no smoke without fire surely? This isn’t the first time these reports have come out about our players across multiple managers. This has happened across multiple managers and you look at the behaviour of Willian with Conte & Drinkwater today. It’s not too far fetched for these things to happen.

To think so many wanted this man sacked. Chelsea through and through and I'll miss him. Not sure I'll bother watching the rest of the season.

How much better off we would have been backing the manager for once and shown the disrupters in the dressing room where the door is.

But player power wins again. They gave up on him and stopped playing so the club would sack him.

And six weeks was all it took for their treasonous plot to succeed. Good riddance to every single one who was part of it.

Apologies if this has been posted before & we obviously have no idea if these things are true as it’s always just hearsay but if this is true, that’s f**king shameful from the club. The disrespect towards Frank is quite staggering and if these rumours are true, no statement from Abramovich makes it any better.

I'm not disputing that something happened. I even said on the same page right there that something must have happened. But we don't know who or what, that's the only thing we have to refrain from sadly.

Gutting but totally unsurprising given our owner. As everyone is quick to remind us, we should always be grateful for his wallet. Until the end of eternity. Without him we would be Brentford or Leyton Orient, apparently.

And those yearning for a long term vision for the club, for a sense of footballing identity. Please, please stop with the yearning. This IS Roman's long term vision, this is his sense of club identity. We can't complain. We pick up trophies every few years. That's what it's all about. Tottenham, West Ham and Arsenal fans would all swap places with us in a heartbeat, apparently. Hire, fire, bring in the next big name, European flavour of the moment, contender please. If it is a "name" who doesn't stand on the side lines in a track suit with a face like a slapped arse, is all we should hope for really. To expect our owner to give time to a young, not "big name" manager who has never managed in Italy/Germany/Spain or utilised a "regista" is completely unrealistic. Even if that young manager was one of our greatest ever players, loves the club, understands the club, understands the fans, understands the history, understands the rivalries, understands the passions involved, understands the importance of being one of our own. Because Roman never has, and never will, feel all those things, like we do and Frank does.

Powerful stuff mate, certainly got me roused up, it’s important we don’t lose our identity and make sure the true fans of this great club do not lose the battle against tourists and social media want it now  type fans. When the fans return I hope to goodness they (we, if I’m lucky enough to get a ticket) give a rousing rendition of Super Frankie Lampard.

Basically that is the way it is in many jobs. I worked in investment banking. When a group of us senior people left we were escorted to the door by a security guard even though we owned shares in the business. When you break you break. Frank can meet them all down at the pub to say goodbye if that’s what he wants. There is nothing wrong or unfair or even harsh about a hard break when you lose the job.  It’s professional.

Great sentiments but I'm afraid that happened years ago.

Said earlier, have never felt as detached as a fan as I do now. Will always be a Chelsea supporter but that love I had is slowly being ebbed away and the supporters mean f**k all to the hierarchy who for some time have clearly focused on the global brand and are more than happy to fill The Bridge with corporate and tourists.

Will never happen. There’s a reason Pep told us to f**k off and it’s exactly this reason. You have a slump and you’re out the door.

We lost 5/8 last season around Christmas time which included defeats at home to a broken West Ham and Bournemouth's B team, Lampard wasn't sacked. Add an extra 6 games to that run we find ourselves with just 4 wins in 14 league games and guess what? He wasn't sacked.

Under Sarri we had a massive rut mid season which included breaking the record for our heaviest defeat in the 21st century not once but twice, he also wasn't sacked and would have got a second season but he decided against it.

Mourinho was given five months to fix an unprecedented all time collapse, it wasn't until we were in genuine danger of falling in the bottom 3 he was finally sacked.

This narrative we fire manager's during their first slump is and i mean this with the greatest respect, absolute horsesh*t. Also you say City are well run and yes in some aspects they are but they also have sh*t points of their own, prime example, how much did they spend on dud CB's until they finally stumbled upon Ruben Dias? Must be pushing half a billion.

Media got what they wanted. Frank sacked to upset the majority of our fans and so they can sling more crap at us. Job done by them and the heads they turned.

And of course Frank thinks of us first. He is one of us and always will be.

How the f*ck could we sack him.

We had a chance to build history here, something really special. And we’ve chucked it away.

For what? Some flashy German? And then flashy Spanish? Flashy Italian? In the space of 5 years?

f**k this, I might follow local non league team for the rest of season. So angry with the board.

Doubt that they decided to sack Frank because some fans wanted it. The board and Roman are just like that. Zero patience and it's hard to blame them considering it worked so many times. This one for me is similar to Mourinho's second time. It was all too nice and poetic with him coming back the second time, but you just knew that it wouldn't end well. With Frank it's the case of us wanting him to succeed in long term, but we knew that Roman just won't give him more than 2 seasons max. if he doesn't deliver the goods which in Roman's eyes are only trophies and nothing else.

I think it's safe to say now that we wont have a long term manager as long as Roman is around.

We didn't sack him. Roman did. If you look at the vote he would still be here.

I want long term success as much as anybody, it just doesn't seem to work out.

Mourinho disasterous 3rd season (I still would've backed him mind), Conte 2nd season went all kinds of wrong starting from that awful transfer window, and now this. One that always bugged me was Carlo, I hated that sacking with every inch of my being, I would've kept that man around for another season at the very LEAST.

We all know it goes deeper than the manager here, as much as I agreed with the decision today.

Gutted about the sacking. Klopp took Liverpool 8 years from midtable to title defenders.

Just wished that Roman gave Lampard the same chance

Liverpool got Klopp because FSG adopted a sharp hire and fire until they got the right one policy that included sacking a man denied the title via a slip and funnily enough a club legend.

Because we don't matter. Only one mans opinion does at the club.

You'll get over it as soon as things are on the up again and we're winning things.

I mean realistically that happens in banks and financial institutions for security reasons such as data being stolen from the company by disgruntled employees etc so it’s not really comparable with a football club.

It still took Klopp 6 years and 4 of those years he was yoyo-ing 8th to 6th. Even if Klopp came here, the max he could've got was 24 months.

(Edit because I thought Klopp's been in England for 8 years but he actually has been here for 6)

Are you seriously trying to defend the boards hire and fire policy when it comes to stability and the point I’m making? Pep told us to f**k off because he wouldn’t be given the time or the tools to succeed at Chelsea and he was right.

It’s well documented Pep told us to do one despite Roman craving him for years - you think he didn’t see the way the club was run and run in the opposite direction? We sack managers at any sign of trouble and ironically it stopped Roman getting the manager and style of football he wanted more than anything.

So, they had a problem area and addressed it? They may not have got it right first time but at least they addressed it & as for the money, it doesn’t really matter at city does it? They could have spent £2bn on it, still wouldn’t matter. As I said we may have a better negotiator in Marina (barring Kepa) but that’s where our victories in the comparison end.
