Funny thing is that Mount is closer to Ballack and Kai to Sir Frank. The one scoring most of the goals, making assists and running the offense and the other fighting in the middle, occasionally banging great goals but being rock solid all the time.

That's a nice observation there bro, I never thought about it in that way...

People thinking we should have prioritised defensive personnel first think of Man.United this time last year.

Off the back of a season conceding 54 league goals (like we are now) and they did "fix the defense". And in that sense yes it worked as they conceded over 10 less goals but despite that they had to sign an attacker who hit the ground running in January to even make par with their points total from the previous season when they conceded 54 goals.

We are very much doing the right thing sorting out the attack first as had we signed defenders and no attakers we'd be looking at a similar problem United had during the first half of last season, could keep more clean sheets but struggle to score unless Pulisic was on top form.

Why look to them Liverpool did exactly that attack then defence and that worked out well.

Remember as well if you’re pressing high defending from the front, and if you’re in command in the midfield it takes a lot of pressure off your defence, think peps Barca, if you got through you could score, but you couldn’t get the ball.

When you have a scary attack bottom sides will sit back and top sides will always be weary to throw too much at you because they know you can rip them to pieces in the counter, all this helps you concede less.

Jeez, so much doom and gloom.

Can we be excited that we are potentially on the verge of signing one of the best young players in the world?

I'm very excited about Kai. This signing will be a key milestone for Lampard's manager career IMO.
