Leicester reportedly asking 80 million for him

I think he would be a great signing if we could get him for a reasonable price (let's say 55 million), he's still only 21

Considering that De Ligt is suppose to cost 120 million

i think Fofana is a better defender than De Ligt

I think he can really become a world class centre back

Agree with everything you have said. And he can play as a full-back too.

“I’ve been told today that we will probably contact Leicester City to gauge a feeling on Wesley Fofana due to their need to sell players, and our recent interest.”

- @siphillipssport

Our next target - before Barca hijack this one.

"We"? Does he work for Chelsea or something?

Wesley Fofana, he is next on the list.

Got him all lined up, should be no twist.

Todd and Thomas took him for Tea.

That is where Wesley said, it's Barca for me!

Would be a great signing. This is similar to Rice though - they won’t sell for anything less than a ridiculous fee. Can’t see it happening.

we were going to spend around 55 million for Koundé right? if wel sell Azpi & Alonso for around 15 million (probably a bit high) we would have 70 million to offer. That should be enough

they were asking 80 million. so 70 should be doable

even 60 with 20 in add ons based on performance (winning the League and playing at least 60% of the games (10 million), winning the CL (10 million))

Maybe they will negotiate, like with Chilwell. He seems our best bet now but I don't see Todd shelling out 80mill or more on someone who is not marketable.

If we could get him for £55m it would be a no brainer.

Dont think they would accept much less than what they got for Maguire though.

They are losing Schmeichel so maybe Kepa could be a makeweight, although i have a feeling they would ask for Colwill.

wouldn't be against Colwill if it was a 1 season loan, so they have more time to find a replacement

On loan would be fine, but i dont think Leicester would go for that, Fofana is on a new long term deal, would they sell him, and develop our player. I cant see it. Maybe tbey would acceot a buy back clause though.

What am I missing with Fofana? He was injured for pretty much all of last season and I don't think he was that great before that.

i found him to be very impressive before his injury

i think he's much better than Koundé

he reminds me a bit of Reece James but as a CB

and he's only 21

🤣

I love the optimism people have thinking other teams would want Kepa, first it was Newcastle now it's Leicester.

Kepa isn't good enough to play in the Premier league. Why would they actually want him?

No club would consider him as a makeweight.

He's here till his contract expires then he'll sign on a free for relegation battling La Liga side on 30K ish a week or retire.

Given they need money to balance the books if we go for Fofana it's going to be pure cash.  No makeweights.  He wouldn't go there but Timo would be a phenomenal fit for them replacing Vardy.

Brendan Rodgers does not want to lose Wesley Fofana this summer and I am told Leicester won't even consider offers of under £70 million. He's contracted until 2027 giving Leicester all the control in any transfer talks.

he should be our number 1 target, but the contract issue is a huge disadvantage

but who else are we going to get? Gvardiol has a contract till 2026. He could be an option and might be cheaper if we use Werner in the deal

for me options are Fofana (unlikely), Gvardiol (would cost a lot), Killman
