How many of these f**king levers are there?

haha good point, i think they sell media rights for a period of years, and i think they have just gone out to 15years forward with the second lever. So i suppose its a question of confidence of their existence for future levers?

On a simpler note, its near the end of the month and hence pay day around this time for most folk......i wonder how much of their salary did Raphina Christensen Dembele and Kounde receive and if in full was it subsidised by de Jong's. Maybe they are not entitled to full salary if unregistered? shocking club !

It seems complete insanse to activate these levers and use that money to spend lavishly, it should be used to pay off debts. This is why so many people feel like they could be broke in a few years. Where is the future revenue going to come from if they are just going to sell all of the rights to that revenue?

It really does seem like Barcelona are just refusing to be a club that drops off for a few years while they sort their finances out. Have they never heard of doing a Leeds?

When opposition fans say this, it seems like it comes from a place of jealousy rather than concern. Truth is any club who refuses to spend and is forced into austerity never regains the revenues needed to stay at the top table. La Liga's salary cap means you can spending is tied to revenue, but Barcelona's revenues are entirely tied to footballing operations. If they fail to spend, they will never regain their €1bn+ revenue.

Why should Barcelona be forced to pay off their debts? Should Chelsea have been forced to sell the Bridge to pay off the 1.5bn owed to Abramovich before we could buy players? Should Tottenham, Man United and Liverpool be banned from transfers until they reduce the debt owed to their investors? Should mortgage-holders be banned from buying food until they have paid off their debt to the bank?

Logically, it makes no sense; Barcelona's debt is amortised in repayments over the course of a very long-term loan, and they have more than enough revenue to handle those payments. That was the whole point of restructuring the debt in 2021.

Spurs, who have even more debt than Barcelona with a fraction of the revenue and market power, are much closer to the brink of oblivion (good!)

So the moral guardians of the league Arsenal are playing multiple accused of rape Thomas Partey today in a friendly, and the majority if fans are backing this decision. I'm sure they would feel the same way if it was one of our players.

Ah so he is the unnamed PL footballer accused then.

So far Haaland has taken away much of the danger from City as predicted by @Argo. The scum of Liverpool are still obnoxious, I think I’ll watch the CL final instead on YouTube or something, including the highlights of the French riot police using the flares against that scum, very much those that the scum like to use inside the stadiums.

Yeah think Pep has an Haaland & Grealish problem.

Poor defending from Ake for that goal, he should be heading that away easily, but he's just headed it into the back of the net.

He’s average and I’m glad that we did not complete the move. I’d rather take the chance with our own youngsters, even if they are as average as Ake.

Unfortunately I feel this may give Liverpool the title advantage as Klopp will probably largely carry on with the fluid front three regardless of what he's paid for Nunez (as he shown with Keita he won't make him a starter until he's ready) whereas Haaland will play all the games when fit and more City adapting their game for the worse.

If we could keep our best Xl fit I'd maybe give us an outside chance but sadly I can't see it.

Don’t think Pep will indulge Haaland for too long though as he is a board signing. He also has an exit clause for 2024, so if Alvarez hits the ground running he will send Haaland to the bench.
