Posted August 25, 2024Aug 25 Di Marzio reporting this too. It would be great to finally purchase another attacking player.
August 25, 2024Aug 25 I swear this link plus the Calvert Lewin one are just moves to make Napoli drop the Osimhen price. I can't see any reason why we'd want either player. At the bare minimum, we need two, a Striker and an organiser/captain in defence.

August 26, 2024Aug 26 ...why? Even at his absolute best, he doesn't get into the side ahead of Madueke on current form, let alone Palmer. I think he's a potentially a great player but I do wonder if his window for growth has passed him by due to ten Hag. He's not exactly a saleable asset if it goes tits up, either.
August 26, 2024Aug 26 I guess the logic is - you take one of our problems and we take one of your problems. This only happens if someone goes the other way (Sterling or chillwell) Â Presumably the hope is the incoming player is on lower wages than the outgoing player and so you have made a marginal gain.Â

This Sancho deal will be a facility to move either Sterling or Chilwell out. But even if Sancho were to significantly drop his wages (and why would he) where would he play here? The only player he would be in front of would be Mudryk. Can't see this tbh. Not on a footballing level anywayÂ
August 26, 2024Aug 26 NOOOOOOO stop bringing in players who wont improve the team or squad he can't get in front of Neto/Nkunku on left (Mudryk will be back up) he can't get in front of Madueke/Neto on right (palmer) SO WHY BUY HIM?
August 26, 2024Aug 26 Competition for places is good. Sancho is better than Mudryk. He's a baller. However, once again I'm worried about attitude. If he's on 120k with performance related bonuses then sure. If not, then pass.
August 26, 2024Aug 26 I imagine if we are interested, it is Joe Shields is pushing for it, based on good experiences with him from their Manchester City days. I think Sancho at City pre-dated Maresca, so doubt he is in the loop. Possible also that the SDs might think Sancho can double his current value if he has one half decent season ... ? Can't see it happening though, His wages at United are far too high, and there is too much off-field baggage associated with him. Â

August 26, 2024Aug 26 Mate of mine in Germany says his attitude is the issue. Doesn't think punctuality applies to him, doesn't especially like training. Dortmund got the best out of him by indulging him. He and ten Hag were always a disaster waiting to happen.Â

As a winger in Enzos system I’d put him behind Noni and Neto who both are naturals as a right winger, while  Nkunku, Palmer and Felix all do their best work in the middle so I’d say there’s a place for him. We are too stacked with attacking 8/10’s in my opinion - not wingers
August 26, 2024Aug 26 DiMarzio isn't even the source. Its Sky Sports. Nuff said. Probably putting 2+2 together for late transfer window drama clicks.Â

Good player Chiesa but his legs are made of glass. Missed around 80 games over the last 3 seasons.Â

He's yet another player that was taken out of a system built for him, in a league that suited him best, and is now struggling. Many players coming out of Germany end up like this. System players are very hard to make work in the Premier League.

For us to get a return on him he’ll have to be playing which I can’t see. No one is going to bid on him at the numbers we would require. Its completely crazy that we are talking about selling on a player we haven’t even signed yet but that’s the state of our transfer policy.

It's not hard to find better players than Mudryk, I dare to say even Iwobi offers more. We certainly don't need to spend big on Sancho to find a better player than Mudryk. But again, strange things have happened, and Sancho could easily accept a 7 year deal given his age🤔

He's was one of the most exciting prospects in football and I still rate him very highly.
August 27, 2024Aug 27 Signing Felix and Sancho hoping they can recapture their glory days has the same vibes as signing Pato and Falcao

Felix and Sancho are both potential class leading players in their respective positions- with a lot to prove. We don’t need Sancho - but if it’s Sancho or Mudryk/Sterling, I know who I would prefer. The quality of player across the entire attack is through the roof right now. Sancho is a baller on a level that Sterling has never been and Mudryk has yet to prove he can be. He can play anywhere across the attack and just because it hasn't worked out at United under their horrific manager doesn't mean much. Don't forget also the age difference from the players you mentioned.
August 27, 2024Aug 27 I’d actually be all for this deal, if we’ve been taught anything the past few years it’s that there’ll always be injuries and you can never have too much of a good thing. Sancho is a talent, regardless of what’s happened at Utd, look at how he was on loan at Dortmund last year. He’s better than Sterling & Mudryk so would upgrade the squad. If getting him helps shift Sterling & Chilly off the books as well it’s a net positive.Â
