How long until the media run with the “German leading England into war” narative?

Have always said Tuchel would be what England need, a bit of know how on how to get over the line.

Great news for Reece James.

Unfortunately, good news for Mason Mount.. just hope Tommy has less sentiments there 😅

I'm excited by this.

We'll get to see him back at The Bridge sometimes and I also feel we needed someone who isn't a FA yes man.

No more bland press conferences as well lol.

If Tuchel can get Mount back to CL winning season level then that’s only a good thing for England.

On a separate note, I’ll predict Tuchel’s line up

GK: Henderson

CB: Colwill, Stones, Guehi

LWB: Saka

RWB: James

CM: Bellingham, Rice

RW: Palmer

LW: Foden

ST: Kane

Not that hiring a national team coach who doesn't own a passport of the country of employment is a big issue (not to me anyway), but it amazes me that England, that has such great football competitions at all levels, can"t produce an English national team coach - or apparently doesn't have enough quality coaches on club level to climb the ladder.

I am soo fkn happy about this.

I love titty tickle...and apart from being a great tactician, which the England team need. He isn't going to manage another PL club. I would have been soo gutted if he took the man utd job for example!

He might be the exact level of lunatic this incredibly talented squad needs to win a trophy. He only needs to win one to go down as an England legend, that will be plenty; we don't need an era.

Looking forward to the media being initially amazed at this new continental import called 'tactics' before everyone is bored sh*tless and harking back to the Southgate days.

How is he going to pick his squads? I was under the impression he never really watches football. It's hard to imagine him taking in Palace vs Ipswich to see what Tyrick Mitchell and Liam Delap are up to. Will he say 'f**k it, I'll start Eric Dier'? Will he wear a suit and waistcoast? Will the English public tolerate a vaguely goblinish tracksuit manager? Will the appointment of a manager I adore finally tempt me back to the fold of international football?

He'll either go down as our greatest manager since Ramsey, or a dour disappointment like Capello. I can't really see a middle ground.

Welcome back Tommy!

I said this should happen when he wrongly got the boot from Chelsea! Amazing news!

Somehow I suspected and infact wanted that he should be managing this talented English team which was badly managed by dumb manager Southgate. Tuchel could get best out of the team if he wants. Lets see how it goes. Good job FA though.

Spain current HC was their youth coach. Argentina current HC was also happened to be their youth coach.

Both whom I am pretty sure most people doesn't know about before they won euro/wc.

I don't think England problem is tactic or coaching. Southgate is not stupid but England need a manager who has the ball to drop player.

Play a balance 11, It doesn't matter if you have to drop foden, Kane, Saka, palmer, etc.

As good as he is he hasn't got a magic wand. Similar to how Rafa couldn't get Torres back to what he use to be.

Lucky England !

He did talk about "double 6" virtually every interview which generally meant two holding midfielders  - Clue to how he might line up England.

He also continued to pick players for us who were clearly not good enough, or out of position.

He won't drop Kane.

Actually more of the same then, maybe England are not so lucky 😀

That wasn't my point

I am one of the old school brigade who thinks an England Manager should be English - same for any international team to be honest.

That said, I am pleased for TT. Still have a lot of respect and fond memories for what he achieved for us during a very difficult period in the club's history so wish him well and would love him to be the first England Manager for 60 years to win a trophy.

The English managers just . . .well they are just not there.   Big Sam?  I might have kept going with Mr.Carsley.  Lee did actually win the Euros with the U21s.  None of the top English clubs have one – an English manager.  Even Lee is not English entirely.

England should qualify regardless of the manager.  Once at the tournament that is where we generally fail to produce. Tournament football is different.  Tournaments are different to leagues.  A few games over a short time period. Southgate had a waistcoat and that was enough motivation for a while. But even the waistcoat just didn’t have enough personality and winning mentality in the end. Too cautious and too scared and not really a tactician at all, what could Gareth do?  Tommy should be able to get a plan together and get England to play good football in a tournament.  Yes Gareth got us to the final last time, but the quality of our football was dire and we were in the easy group. We need to play with some swagger in a tournament.

He is going to become the England’s greatest coach ever. Super Tommy Tuchel!

He can outcoach anyone on his day, with the immense talent of England squad, Tommy really can revolutionise the nation.

He’s going to make us a team that absolutely nobody wants to face. Nobody.
