I used to get excited about who’s going to be our next manager under Roman, because it could be any of the most highly rated ones.

Now I don’t care, I just know we are going for a sub standard manager again. I just hope we hit gold by pure fluke like we did with Palmer.

I know all the reasons not to like him but Emery has done an amazing job. But why would he ever sell his soul to work with the 🤡 that own our club and their 🤡 sporting directors.

Emery is a fantastic manager - adaptable, pragmatic, well organised. He didn't even do that badly at arsenal.

But he looks too much like the butler from Mr Deeds. Sneaky Sneaky.

If it's genuinely Carlo I would be more erect than when I first saw Marilyn Monroe pull that hip flask out of her garter.

I assume it would actually be another dismal, dour appointment; I have long thought that Maresca would make a fitting Celtic manager if they fancy a swap...

Is Maresca's job actually under threat? The team's performance is largely irrelevant to BlueCo's long-term goals, and he seems to be the kind of (presumably cheap) lickspittle they appreciate.

It's a question worth asking.

The board may view this catastrophe as a bit of learning on the job and give him another season. They may think the managerial sackings are becoming too frequent and disrupting the development of the young squad.

Who knows what they think? I honestly think they are thrashing around in the dark and can't see beyond investing in young talent.

Carlo if he'll come.

Not exactly something to put on the CV, I think pretty much every manager in the premier league is better than Maresca.

I wouldn't swap him for Graham Potter. Probably not van Nistelrooy either.

Getting Fat Ange in would surely be a terrible idea but worth it just for @just 's reaction.

I also wouldn't want Hürzeler because I feel like BlueCo would. Might swap him for Cucurella though.

I agree totally with Matisse yesterday on YT. The manager is largely immaterial at the moment as the idiots above him would rinse and repeat. Mckenna, or Farke or Rosenior etc.

If we cleared out Winstanly and Stewart now and brought in Luis Campos to oversee the whole operation, i think that it would go a massive way towards uniting the fanbase. Then if it is deemed that Maresca is not up to scratch (which clearly he isn't) at least we would be assured that the appointment of a replacement would be in capable hands.

Until then it will remain a continual cycle of dross, underperforming managers, sucking up to the clown SDs

100% agree. The SD's would just identify a new manager the way they identify players. So we will end up with somebody that has no experience. Add to that the fact that any manager has to be willing to work under these clowns as a Yes man and we are not going to see any significant improvements. Maybe if we are lucky we get a manager that at least plays a more attractive system but unlikely that we will make any progress towards challenging for top trophies unless the entire strategy changes,

Imagine most of us would welcome Carlo back and I would love it to be Inzaghi but I am starting to think it'll be Rosenior.. and if you think we have it bad now...

I don't see how anybody could watch these two legs against Arsenal and want Carlo back

If he can't win the Spanish League with Mbappe, Bellingham and Vinicius, then what on earth is he going to do with the likes of Madueke and Neto?

It is not about him winning anything - but being a guide and leader to our youngsters, and bringing the team forward, giving a platform for long term success.

Progress isnt just winning things....happy to build for the long term.

Well football is more than one tie or season, he's won the 2 leagues and 2 champions leagues in the past 4 seasons. He's very experience and he actually knows what it means to manage Chelsea.

If people didn't like Poch then I'm not sure why they would want Carlo. He's probably even more loose in his tactics and stubborn in terms of squad usage.

Wisdom, guidance, adaptability, history, proven winning mentality, balance within his teams.....

End of the day I would be delighted to have Maresca gone and replaced with Carlo but we will have the same issues as we did under Poch. Not that I mind, I would rather be more attacking and let in the odd 3 or 4 as a result.

An experienced proven winner this young squad would immediately listen to and respect. None of this keep ball go nowhere sh*t.

Carlo would fit that profile, I’d rather Klopp if we could get him.
