just Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Poor old Rottenham. Scoring all those goals in pre-season, spending all that money, having to listen to all the local yi*ddos, (and there is a f**king lot of 'em round here), harping on about how this is going to be their year, and then .......................... they lose to Sunderland in the 94th minute ! And on top of that they didn't really trouble the Mackems keeper for the entire game. Bloody beautiful game football.
loz Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 West Ham 1 down as well mate - could be a fine day!!
Englishman Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I didn't see the match, but apparently they were booed off by their own fans. With any luck the TalkSpite phone-in tonight will be full of suicidal Spuds demanding that everyone at the club be sacked. Hilarious.
callista Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I wouldn't crow too much yet, we have still got to beat Birmingham. We have had a dour pre-season, our main striker is crocked, our main pillar of defence is out, our midfield strolls when it should be snappy and most of our goals have been from defensive howlers. I'll smirk at Spurs and their misery when I know we've won against Birmingham and not before. It could be Chelsea fans this time tomorrow booing our players of the pitch for losing to a team that on paper you should win against. New boys are all doing well, Derby drawing, Sunderland have won. Newcastle trouncing Bolton but then the manager should know how to play them by now! I have to admit, whilst I'm not surprised that Sunderland stood up to Spurs, the absolute quality might not be there but their team ethic will get them wins when normally it wouldn't. A team with Roy as manager could be nothing but battling, however with Spurs much famed new strike force upfront I was expecting Spurs to win - not comfortably but to win. But if your midfield don't create for your strikers then you will struggle and I think that's what might have happened to Spurs - sounds a bit like us at the moment actually.
Alan Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Good start to the season seeing Spurs lose Oh and Callista cheer up!
loz Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I feel like a kid in a sweetie shop right now - really looking forward to watching MOTD tonight (God I miss Sky Sports) . I say bugger the close season, make them play all year round!!!
callista Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Good start to the season seeing Spurs lose Oh and Callista cheer up! Sorry, in a depressed phase right now, nerves I guess after seeing our pre-season and the sudden rush of injuries. And we've got that Liverpool record to try and beat, that's always like flagging up a red flag to a bull in terms of football irony. Liverpool beat Villa with Torres scoring a hat trick and we fall to Birmingham the next day with MU confortably beating Reading a few hours later - any takers? Okay thought not! Well Derby have drawn so good result for them and Sven can get the champagne out beating West Ham. So I guess the real shock today has been the Spurs loss, still got Liverpool to go though, fingers crossed we could be in for another.
Alan Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Be nice to round it off with Liverpool failling to get 3 points
g3.7 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 bah. 0-1 liverpool. gem won't be happy. torres looking sharp, aston villa are long ball idiots.
callista Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Damn, these are the types of games Liverpool used to fail to win last season. Typical, don't score themselves but get the opposition to do the job for them. Easy win for Liverpool now I think.
g3.7 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 1-1 jamie dignity with a comical handball to give away a pen.
g3.7 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 annoying that gerrard seems to be able to award himself free kicks these days.

You're a real atmosphere hoover you are. I bet you don't get invited to many parties.
callista Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Damn, damn, damn. There was me jumping around the room with joy and then Gerrard gets that free kick. Alan Green will be arse licking Gerrard tonight on 606. So they've got off to a winning start. That's the first of the big 4 teams (if you don't count Spurs!) with 3 points. Lets see how we, MU and Arsenal do tomorrow.
BlueBosnian Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Gerrard did not deserve that free kick. But, oh well, too late to complain.
callista Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Dare one suggest it but it's that kind of luck that can allow you to have a good run in the PL. The drew last year first game of the season I see so Rafa will be even more quietly smug in his own Spanish way than ever.
glory55 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I had a fair few beers this afternoon and before I leave for another skinfull and a ruby!! I have waited all summer to jump aroud like a f**king looney!! Thank you you T*ttenh*m b*st*rds F**king suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuperb! COME ON THE CHELSEA!!!!!! Roll on tomorrow!!! Callista you dont understand Chelsea supporters! Today we celebrate......F**k Sp*rs!!!!
Guest Brian M Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 You're a real atmosphere hoover you are. I bet you don't get invited to many parties. For a man who doesn't like Jimmy, you're a funny b*gger!
Alan Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Just seen the Gerrard 'free-kick'. Never ever a free kick in a million years.
Guest Brian M Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 While I'm always happy for Sp*rs to lose, I really REALLY dislike that smug b*stard Roy Keane. Or to put it another way, Sunderland going down would be a rather nice thing.

You'll be more than welcome too then. The press will be all over the Liverpool game tomorrow saying how the league beckons and the god that is Stevie G. Villa to be fair didn't play that well but it says something that even with all their possession and chances to score they still had to rely on an own goal and then being given a lucky free kick they didn't deserve!
