Elliott Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Rich cannot get richer without help from friends
BLUENUT Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 The only reason so many of these clubs are being bought by foreign investors is for world-wide TV rights, which the big-guns will eventually get. People will go to each others home to watch the games instead of going to stadiums, which maybe the otherside of the globe or they cannot afford the inflated prices. Football has already moved in this direction, how many PL clubs have their own channel's, how many more will follow. Globalisation has reached football and ruined it's core values, the game will eventually eat itself. RIP football as we knew it!

I thought it was interesting how Liverpool think they can command their own TV money abroad, due to their so called notoriety in Europe, and it also explains why Kenyon has been on the US offensive for the last few seasons. (Pre-season). The bubble will burst, one day.
BLUENUT Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 due to their so called notoriety in Europe Yeah I've heard they're really popular in Athen's, Belgium and Italy
Kenn Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Yeah, an interesting article indeed. One of the best I?ve read from Martin Samuel. It?s an issue we all should follow closely, especially when you consider that not everyone taking over the big clubs have the interest of the game and its underlying balance at heart. It?s one thing to want to make profit; it?s another to seek to kill the business outright through unhealthy practices.
